  1. These are detachable type wheels. That means that there is a ring(s) that come off to remove the tire from the rim. Demountable type wheels have rims that come on/off the wheel with the tire inflated. This allows you to carry an inflated spare rim. Some wheel sets are both detachable and demountable. Your wheels also have another early feature, they are "universal". They have a ring on both sides of the tire that can be turned around for either clincher or straight side (Dunlop) tires. Make sure your rings are turned to fit properly against the sidewalls of your tires. This picture shows the rings turned for straight side tires, as does your original picture.
  2. 46 woodie No, this switch is for a distributor system. Send me a message if you are looking for a switch to control 2 magnetos.
  3. Delco manufactured combination ignition and lighting switch for Westcott automobile. In the era of 1918 thru 1924.
  4. Ready for restoration, this dual magneto will made spark when used with a Bosch dual dash switch/coil. Price is $650
  5. The OF came with a new relay that has a different wiring layout. The new relay can be used on the O and OD generators by rewiring the connections, hence the superseded note on the earlier equipment list.
  6. That would be a Remy generator either model 917-ZA or 941-P. In case anyone has unidentified spares.
  7. From the remains of the cap, I would say 6 cylinder.
  8. Years ago the shop I was at couldn't get a freshly overhauled engine started. It had a red shop rag in every cylinder.
  9. A 1920s reenactment is a century old but still a reenactment.
  10. It might even help if the seller got the name correct. See the engine side cover plate.
  11. To answer the question of lens color on the touring. I would say that it probably is a later replacement. Too cherry red. May also dome more than early lenses.
  12. While I suspect all the Gray & Davis French Style to be Cadillac, I cannot definitively say so. The mounting variations may be year changes. First picture attached is unknown brand light probably aftermarket from the era 1914-1917. The other 2 are Solar French style: Application is apparent on one, the second has jewels on the ends and is Cole. Stutz used an identical light to the Jeffery, but with just a plain red lens. Am I giving away too much information?
  13. Only found this one listing. Could be that there were earlier applications than 1921 and other than automobiles ( trucks).
  14. International IHC were still offered in 1911 and Sears held out into 1912.
  15. As Bruce McCalley ( editor of the MTFCA Vintage Ford) said " The first liar has the best chance". Cadillac I believe, teens era after 1915. Made by Gray & Davis and called "French Style". Stutz used a similar tail light also in French Style but made by Solar. It did not have reverse shoulder curves. Am thinking this light attached at the top to the spare rim carrier for cars with wooden wheels. It is earlier than similar lights that mount on a pipe that enters at an angle.
  16. It appears to me that the lock ring is painted black so seems to blend into the black tire. True it is hard to see the ends of the ring.
  17. One large problem with taking off the tire is the possibility of bending the lock ring. After deflating the tire, press the tire away from the lock ring all the way around. Next free the ring from the rim all the way around. Rust and/or paint can "glue" the ring securely into the rim. If the ring is not free from the rim, when you try to pry up the ring out of the rim, the ring will bend at the area where it is stuck. If the ring is not stuck in the rim then the ring will flex ( spring action) all the way around over its length. This flexing allows the end of the ring to be pried over the rim without bending the ring. A bent ring is a terrible if not almost impossible thing to " straighten" ( that is make perfectly round). Most of the horror stories of rings coming off when inflating the tire can be traced back to a "bent ring".
  18. What most old car guys don't know is that in the old days of plate glass in closed cars, it was the glass that was the leading cause of death in accidents.
  19. Pair of nice 72 mm Rudge wire wheel ring for 1919 Stutz cars and others with this size Rudge Wire Wheels. Can post worldwide.
  20. Steering column with gear reduction in the middle of the column was a Chevrolet 1916 and 1917 feature. Right on Steve!
