  13. Dodge Brothers made touring cars, repair trucks, cargo trucks, and ambulances PLUS a few oddballs such as searchlight trucks. The truck models were built on the commercial car chassis as was the civilian screenside.
  14. Brian If you want a vehicle to reenact the Great War ideally you need a 17 or 18 or 19. They are all pretty identical . YOU DO NOT WANT a slanted windshield . They are available I have restored 3 to ww 1 style. I probably have more info on WW 1 Dodges than most other collectors as that is my focus. I too reenact Here is a 1916 touring car and a model 1918 Light Repair Truck. I do have another 1917 that needs restoration that would be perfect to restore. The shield mentioned in the previous post was added in 1917 and is correct for the First War vehicles. bob
  15. Hi all I just had custom made bows fabricated for my 1918 Dodge Light Repair Truck. They were made by a local CT craftsman. He used the laminated technique and made them out of ash...They were SPOT on to the dimensions I provided him.Contact me here on the forum or by PM or my email bob487thbg@aol.com for details He can make any size Still working out the costs bob
  16. I have seen the West Point Dodge said to be Pershing's 1916 but it is NOT a 16 as it has the splash shield under the radiator making it at best a 1917. This was fully covered in DBC member John Bittance who wrote the most complete story on DBs in WW 1. It was published in both the DB club News and Army Motors about 4-5 years ago bob
  17. Note the early hood with louvers....I thought those were only used on the early 14s and 15s....I enjoyed the drive. When there is snow on the ground I put my cars to sleep. I knew Alaskans were a tough breed!!! bob
  18. Anyone have a usable radiator for a 1940 dodge? Thanks in advance NO NEED FOUND ONE bob
  19. The "ignition" switch is a simple make/break type. The mag is grounded out in the off position(break). There is no key on my truck bob
  20. To my understanding the early mag cars had BOTH a battery for lights and starter and magneto ignition. Mags were a lot more costly to produce I think that being said economics may have played a role in their disappearance. I was told that DB cars Down Under often used mags into the mid 1920s. Mags when properly adjusted function flawlessly although I am having a problem on my 18 with the points closing up. Certainly the Army trucks which lacked batteries could only operate with the magneto ignition. The DBs used Eisemann G4 2nd edition mags bob
