Yes it is a V8.- runs rough-spits and sputters at times. My brother took it to a show couple weekends ago and said it wouldn't idle - when it quite (after he got there) wouldn't start again for awhile- he changed the fuel pump - no difference. Someone at show mentioned the gas being used today versus the gas of 1939. How about that?

only quits when idling.

have a 39 ford deluxe - thats does not want to idle - when it quits - have to wait to start it again. very annoying. fuel pump has been changed - gas tank changed - lines cleaned. this was my father's car - it did it to him once and he fixed it so it ran beautifully. he passed away so I can't ask him and have no intention of getting rid of the car.
