It took us about 6 months to have these manufactured by FY (Fuyao Industries) China. They do a good job and the price is right. We are offering new clear windshields for just $195 each. They can be picked up locally in the Boston/ southern NH area or shipped. There is a $25 carton fee + freight. We carry almost all Volvo windshields from current to the classics at super deals. This is a new US made factory tint windshield that fits all the 1955-56 Chrysler (and DeSoto) models with the exception of the Convertible . This includes the Windsor, Imperial, New Yorker Hardtop, Sedan and Wagons. It is probably a 50 + year old new windshield. It has a couple of small clams on edges that covers. there are 3 small scratches (surface type) on the curves. we can probably buff out or come close to making it so they are not visible. They are all light and none in vision. this is the correct thickness and same as the ones that were installed in the cars when new. We can supply still..some glass new for these models. This includes door glasses, back window for removable hardtop and the rear porthole windows. All are NOS meaning mopar and or the Sicursive Italian made (whatever was offered from the factory). Everything is still reasonably priced. The porthole windows are the most expensive. Only a little stock exists throughout our distributors. Door glasses are still the best deal for the money if it is time to repalce a scratched one. We have a new left rear quarter glass clear LOF Manufactured we would like to move out (We have other Riviera glass). This may have a small scratch has to be looked at. It is boxed up as it was a cancellation. It is priced at $100 + UPS. This fits only 71-73 models. we ship glass worldwide for all the classics.

It is an original NOS clear not tinted. I have a second one here for cheap money also with bubble but chips, scratches and a few marks- good for a spare. Most were tinted but many models had clear glass back then.

We have 3 NOS US made windshields that fit the Sedan/ Jet Brougham 2 Dr. They are prced at $225 ea but will do a super package deal for all 3 if someone has a collection of these cars. I pretty much agree with Mike above although we have done so interesting things over the many years (decades) shipping glass. The issue is with the insurance. The truth is freight carriers are making things very tough and not paying claims for things that are cut and dry. They are also dimensionilizing the crates so what would be $125-150 freight is now costing sometimes in excess of $300. Things are just getting worse out there in many ways as the small independent company is squeezed in every direction. I don't think folks realize for instance that the fuel surcharge is at 28%+ on every truck shipment so that adds at least $30-35 to the freight bill and is regulated so not much you can do... fun to make a living today!

All well noted above. As a longtime glass company I find the info pretty good here. Our family started in 1953. We must have sold 50+ Reatta windshields back in the 1990's. I remember when $750 was a lot for a new one then. Pilkington is the only one that continues to carry and produce these. I don't think they run off 400-500 at a time but more likely 100-200 maybe a little more. With the profit margin on something like this, they don't need to make as many and warehouse a couple hundred extra for years when they can just do short production runs every few years. anyways we have available thru some of our vendors a few NOS back windows if any one is interested. It is not difficult to ship windshields IF you have the proper packing materials and are in the business like we are.. we ship windshields larger than this worldwide. it requires a crate and proper banding so it does not shift. We can ship several windshields in 1 crate of different types safely. Of course we do not have the Reatta windshields but we do have access to some NOS back windows which can be packed safely if anyone ever needs.. while they last. I would not ship a windshield like this in a carton though.

That's an excellent deal even if it is a little marked up. We sell new reproductions for $460 that are tint with shade band. Sold many flawed new older ones a couple of years back.. anything under $200-225 in decent shape is a bargain. Good luck.. Richard

We have just 1 new original windshield left for the 1953-54 New Yorker/Windsor and DeSoto Firedome. this will fit the Htop and Convt models. We recently sold the tint. The clear one GM#1458828 is in excellent condition with nothing major wrong with it. It is a PPG early production windshield which probably made back when the car was new. No one has remade this model so if you are a collector great opportunity to upgrade existing one or as a spare. We wre in the Boston area but can ship worldwide safely. This is priced at $550.

We have a NOS clear LOF Made back window that fits the Cadillac Series 62 2 Dr Hardtop. We purchased this last year and paid quite a bit for it along with another cadillac back window. We have it listed at $595, will sell a little cheaper, especially if local customer can use. It is clear, it may ahve a few light surface scratches, will have to check as it has been moved a few times. The logo says: Safety Plate AS 2 FV if anyone wants to know. These have not been reproduced. It also fits the Buick Roadmaster/ Super 50 Series in 1957 We also have a tinted back window NOS that is not marked but pretty sure it is a late 50's similar years and GM model but no glass part#. I would be glad to add it in at no charge with the deal which could be valuable to the right person. It measures 16 3/4 up center and 61" across inside top to top . If anyone can use 1, 2 or 3 brand new US Made windshields (I think all made by PPG) back in the 50's or early 60's0 let me know. These were purchased a couple of years ago as part of a package deal. All have either a scratch, light water stain or a frayed edge or 2- none are real bad and none are near perfect. We have full descriptions. These are rare to find NOS US made clear windshields. Hi I just happened to check out some threads tonight. been a while. Todd i remember sending yours to you in IL from our distributor. We have none left here and the only ones out there presently are repros. They are fine and of course the USA made PPG brands would be a better choice but far and few between now. Since these only fit 63-65 Riviera with no interchange, the demand to remake these is low. Right now they are running approx $295 for the ones we can get + freight. As for the cracks and chips- there is a lot that can be done . I am not in that end of the business and would like to sell new windows but I understand that the cost factor ( and insurance/ deductible) can make you hold off.. for as long as you can. I am driving a 2001 Landcruiser with a star chip and rather hazy windshield so I can appreciate folks not wanting to change it any time soon. But if the chip/ crack is near the edge then it will not be successful long term. It's great when it is away from the edge and only a couple of inches. Just my 2 cents.. anyone needs one we can still supply. Richard
