I do a/c work for a living in a large bldg. so i do have knowledge of the workings, so i am baffeled to hear that a compressor will run even when no fan is running???? that will explain why the POA valve and suction line is froze. thanx again for your response,and yes i would like to do what you did to your car. P.S. that just might have answered a problem i am having with the car temp in traffic!!!! thanx agin I will be looking for your response

i recently noticed that even when my controls on the dash,(push buttons),are in the off position,the a/c compressor is still running.I unplugged the 12 volts at the compressor for now.I also noticed that i have a vacum leak at the controls at the dash,primarialy the off button.thanx for any help,Phil

i have a 1968 olds 98 convertible, i need the molding on the passenger fender where it meets the winshield. it is about 5 or 6 inches long, actually slightly curved. thanx for any help in advance Phil

found problem with upper hose collapsing!!!!!! the over flow line from radiator to the overflow jug had a life long kink in it, replaced hose,and now the radiator cap can flow back and forth to the jug!!!!! also had to replace water pump today,also installed 160 tsat. at idle with a/c on the car goes to about 225 (insatlled mechanical gauge also) is that to hot for the olds big motor?? thanx for your help in advance Phil

thanx for the response, it is a new 16lb cap from stant with the red release lever. but i wil tell you this when i lift it nothing happens. i will replace it with another new one thanx again Phil

engine temp. questions? brand new 4 core radiator,new upper &lower rad. hoses,new 180 tstat,new fan clutch,new anti freeze and water. car idling w/ a/c on after about 15 minutes hot light comes on. today i installed mechanical temp. gauge, sensing bulb in intake next to tsat housing. same thing after 15 minutes temp goes to 225 drove car tonight and after turning off engine upper radiator hose is collapsed, start car drive home temp stays at 195 but hose is now open. i feel the temp is to high??? any thoughts ideas thanx Phil

my heater core started leaking today, i have it bypassed right know. 1st question ,where do i purchase a new heater core? 2nd question, any helpful hints on how to replace it? thanx for your help in advance Phil

thanx for responding on both my issues, i will try to work on the brakes in the next day or two. also thanx for the info on the engine, not sure if intake is alum. all is painted gold, will try magnet on it. is there any chance i can contact you by phone? i am very new to oldsmobile and i have a few questions,besides i am a much better talker than typer!!!
