But if it's a 4 lobe cam wouldn't the timing be the same for both sets of points if they were synchronized?

What years were the c-4 with the brass cap used?

I think when they say lens and body retainer they are talking about the trim which is part of the lens retainer if I recall correctly. 1937 and 1938 use different trim.

I have these two steering wheel center buttons but don't know what years. Looks to me like someone or time removed the paint on yours. -
Walmart in the older car parts business?
1937-44 replied to Dandy Dave's topic in General Discussion
Walmart bought Jet in 2016 which was an online retailer to break into the online business. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet.com) Later they decided to just incorporate it into their Walmart.com business. -

WTB: 6 Champion C4 Spark Plugs for a 1926 Boyer Firetruck
1937-44 replied to riffking7's topic in Parts Wanted
If memory serves me correctly the plug is 7/8 14. I believe the Champion W-18 is a direct replacement with the Champion W-16 fitting but a little cooler. There is an adapter available through old Ford supply places that I've used for checking compression but I've never used one for a spark plug. HOOK corrected me and he is correct. They are 7/8 - 18. I stand corrected. However I know they wouldn't work on the wheels of my 54 Buick as it doesn't have slots for the fibers to go through. My wheels look like the picture MrEarl posted.

Actually I think you will find these are from the 70's. I bought a new set like these in the mid 70's after having to shovel my car out. The early sets from the 50's you laid out on the ground and you would drive the car on to them unless you had a lift handy. Then you would pull them over the top of the tire and fasten on the inside and outside of the tire. When I purchase my 54 which came from Washington it still had the old style chains in the trunk in the original cloth bag. Been a lot of years since I've heard a car with tire chains driving down the road. Carl

1937 2-dr. sedan project in MO.
1937-44 replied to Pete Phillips's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
John, I assume the vendor being referred to is the same one I have met and dealt with different times. If it is he has always dealt fairly with me and had reasonable prices. It does seem strange however that a seat frame would cost that much however I can't begin to guess how much the shipping would have been and that might account for a good part of the price. Carl -

Wow! That certainly does seem like price gouging. -

Most of the missing items are readily available. Cost of acquiring it all piecemeal might make it prohibitively expensive however. I have at least some of the pieces if anybody wants a project. -
I think the armature you have listed fits Generator 1105496 a 25 amp. low cut in generator. Which is for the following vehicles; GMC 1956 100 thru MW500 Gmc 1957-1959 100 thru F370 Carl

My memory could be wrong or a previous owner could have bought the horn button because the seller said it was for a 1938 Buick. We need to find someone who actually has a 1938 with the complete standard steering wheel to chime in. Just because it came with the car doesn't make it correct. Many years ago I parted out two 1937 buicks that had the same jack, but supposedly neither is the correct jack. In a Master Parts book it specifies a 1937 horn button separator clamp (for non-flexible wheels) and a 1937 horn button lock (not used on flexible wheels). A 1937-1938 steering wheel cap trim (for flexible wheels). This is all in group 2.8, but no mention of non flexible part numbers which makes me suspect my memory might be right.
-
Did that horn button come off that steering wheel? I parted out a 1937 Special in the early 70's that had a standard steering wheel and if memory serves me correctly it had a plain black horn button.

I have a 1980 Pontiac Phoenix Service Manual that I would like to sell. Flipping through the pages I didn't see any marks, torn pages or smudges. It does have a few creases on the cover. $16 which will include media shipping to the lower 48 states.
