Had a friend install a 1953 straight 8 into my 52 super wagon. The trans is a 52 dynaflow. Cannot get the trans and engine to hook up. What am I doing wrong? Will this combination not work? Can I only use a 53 dynaflow trans. Any ideas or suggestions? Was thinking of just getting an adaptor plate (don't know where) and hooking up a 350 chevy trans. Appreciate anyone's expertise in this matter.

Thanks for the response. So I guess I need a 53-56 trans? Is the trans the same for the straight 8 special as the v-8 or are they also different?
