I have a 53 Buick Riviera in which the driver side door keeps popping open (though not all the time). I noticed that it takes a lot less pressure to open the door via the inside door handle than the passenger side. It seems like there is less tension in the lock itself. I tried finding a replacement lock, but no luck. I found a rebuild kit, but I'm not sure if it will solve the problem. Ideas? Dave

Does anyone have a source for wiper arms (not the blade) for a '53 Super? Thanks Dave

I beginning to think this is the case and that some jerry rigged this one to fit another wiper. Everything you say is correct except after the transmission goes through the cowl there is a spline nut on the end (and of course the escheoun nut as well).

These are the cover nuts -- I have those. The actual nut I'm looking for fits over the spline shaft. It has a spline inside and outside. The outside is what the wiper fits over. You don't normally see this nut until you remove the wiper arm.

I looked on their site and couldn't find a part #. I searched for spline nut, wiper nut, etc. It should be the same as a '54. Dave

I've been looking for the splined nut that fits on the end of the wiper transmission for a '53 Super. Anyone have a source? I've spent hours. Dave

Does the tank need to be removed in order to get to the sender unit on a '53 Super? Thanks for the help. Dave
