  1. Hook a vaccuum guage to your intake and run it into your dash, take running readings and do the same with your other car and compare notes.if the readings are low on the dual carbs then you are drawing more air than it can handle. That is the same as putting a 750cu.carb on a 65 v8 you get great bogging and a lot of lag.

  2. did you downsize your carbs to fit your engine? If you are putting twice the fuel and air as one carb it will not run right.I tried the same set up back in the fiftys on my fifty chev. Was more bother than good.duel carbs have to be balanced to idle good.[same vacuum on both carbs]A small four barrel would work better but not near the eye appeal.

  3. I have a special number plate on my model A.The serial no on a model A is the motor number and if the motor is changed you had to get one of these to get it inspected or for license plates.I got mine in 1965 when I restored the car.The original serial number is stamped on the top of the frame under the drivers side of the cowl.Very hard to get to.It was fairly common back then and did not mean an assembled car

  4. THe 1931 and 32 Chevrolets had this type of fitting on the upper segment of the lower radiator hose [there is a metal elbow with hoes on either end]The other hose goes into the head.

They show up on Ebay but are not common.

  5. A lot of Model A Ford guys use positive ground alts with a wide pulley. Most model a suppliers stock them. They are made from the older style GM alternators and last forever. These are one wire systems easy to install.

  6. If you have Foxcraft skirts [most are] Chevrolet did not offer sfirts in 55 there are two clips that fasten to the wheel well with set screws. The flat part goes in a slot in the skirt. If you have these off.hold the skirt up to the wheel well and put the clamps on the car so that it lines up with the slot in the skirt and insert in the skirt and lock the center lock. You may have to adjust the clips to get a good fit.

  7. You might want to contact Bill Cartwright at KC WOOD MFG in Willis,Va.he makes wood for chevrolet bodies and can give a lot of advice on your car.If you have to replace much wood or certain pieces you take all the sheet metal off build, the wood skeleton and put the metal back on

  8. They no longer remove deer, they spread a bag of white lime on carcass to keep the smell down so if you see a guy in a dark green uniform dumping white powder along the road that is our game commisiom at work.

  9.
