  6. I have been asked about two DB engines, C345-842 and C893-069 , both are 4 cylinder, two-unit 6 volt. When did the "A" prefix change to "C" and what date are these engines ?

  8. I always make sure the ground strap is heavy duty, quite often I find someone has replaced the original with a 12 volt strap, with causes extra resistence . At one time the head lights on my Senior where very dull, the problem was solved by running a heavier gauge wire from the starter to the ammeter,ammeter to the lighting switch and running a parallel wire from the lighting switch to the junction box, this cuts down resistence to the lights.

  10. I have just finished a 240 mile trip in my 1918 DB, about 40 mile from the start, the speedo hand came detached from the spindel .How do I take the glass off the front of the speedo to get to the hand?
  11. Thank you for the comprehensive information. The tranny is filled with Penrite 250 but no MED grease has been added, some where I read that you should not mix oil and grease together as they will not blend,but this probably not important in this case.
  12. Rodge, Can offer any advise on the correct way to change gear, both up and down, on a 1918 DB ?It seems much harder than on the 1926 model.
  13. Hi, all three have been repaired at some time, the crack are very near the split.The wheels are all in good condition and I am now fitting a newish set of tires.Your comment about over tightening the clamps is very interesting. How tight should they be?
