  3. Hi Kerry, Almost can't believe that an Arizona car would need a bumper. I thought the climate out there was good even for these bumpers. I may be able to help. I have a 2 door dynamic and access to a couple of other 63's. I will do some checking and let you nknow. It will take a while as I have to make a road trip for all of them. Email me so I can send you pics when I get them. Talk soon. Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com

  5. Hi Guys, Looking for some info. Bought this car about 20 years ago and am now gathering parts and info for it. This is where you come in. Its a 70 442 2 door sedan. Rally Red, Pearl bucket seat interior and the beltline trim. I have more info on my webpage that I just made this week. If you have any info, please email me. Thanks Greg http://www.geocities.com/pairofpostcars/ If you click on the photos link you can get some other pics of the car. THANKS!!!
  6. Hi Oldzguy, If I am correct, which I hope I am, The front spindle bearings are same on the big Olds's up to 76. They are also the same as Chevy/GMC half ton pickups. The seals are the same size too. I'm working on a 64 Olds and trying to do the same thing. Hopefully we can share some info. Email me if you wish. Thanks, Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  7. Hi junque, First don't get mad about the kickdown switch. There are a ton of them out there. I think the round and the square ones interchange. This seller is probably figuring on finding somebody that has a lot more money than brains so he can score a quickie. I do believe though that they interchange to the 88's and 98's from the same era. Greg
  8. Hi Chris, Personally, I think you should work with it. If for no other reason than it's not mainstream. I would almost guarentee you that if you used it in something and took it to a local show, not many, if anybody would recognise it. Email me if you get a chance and we can talk further. I also have some spares for this engine. Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  9. Hi Guys, Hope someone can help out here. I have a 70 442 2 door sedan that I have had for a while and am trying to gather some info on it. This car should be one that would stick in your memory if you ever saw it. It was painted Rallye red with a Pearl bucket seat interior. The car also had all 3 side trim options (drip rail, upper side window trim, and belt line trim) The car was sold new at Jenkins Motors in Frederick MD. It was repainted black before it was wrecked in the early to mid 80's. I know there is a few of you from the area and hope you can help. I can't get any info from the history center other than general stuff. I have about 3 square inches of the build sheet that the mice left me. I must rely on peoples memories to get the whole story. Anybody remember the car or who owned it???? If you do email me at drhotwheels@mybluelight.com Thanks, Greg mrolds88
  10. Hi Vista, In answer to your questions, I have some answers. 1)The basics of the transmissions should be the same as the Cutlass Transmissions. 2) the connector on the side of the trans is for the switch pitch. All of the external electrical is the same as the early switch pitch 400s. Also as a side note, the input splines/pump drive is the same as a 400. Buddy of mine used to take the Jetaway converter and put it in a 400 and it gave the car a higher stall speed in both ranges. 3) Unlike the Powerglide, I have not seen that much interest in these trannies. If you are doing a resto, then you need what the car came with. Also the only full size cars that these transmissions came in in 64 was the Jetstar 88's. All the rest used the Slim Jim. Hope this helps. Greg
  11. Hi Laurence, I am sorry to hear about your friends luck. There are a lot of places out there that are like this. One of the best indicators of a shops ability is looking at there lot and seeing what kind of "toys" are there. By that I mean, are there any finished 57 Chevies or the like there? What are the employees driving to work (if the weather is nice) and that type of thing. Get a couple of references of customers that have had the caliber of car you have that they have done. And I also agree with the rest of the members here, get it spelled out!!! I really don't think any of you would want to be around me if I spent $4500 and got a sandbox paintjob and the paintshop said Oh well.. It really does pay to research!!! Another alley that you might want to seek is the local Chamber of Commerce. Sometimes they can light a fire under someone. Hope it helps. Good luck. Greg
  12. Hi Perrti, Let me know if you can fix the switches that you have. AS long as they are two wire type, I have a stock of them (just have to dig them up.) Let me know. Since we last talked, I have accidently deleted your (and everybody elses) Emails so I dont have your emaill address anymore. Try what rocketraider suggested before you contact me about new switches. Talk soon Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  13. Hi Chopped, I had contacted you on another website regarding your 394 stuff. I accidently deleted your email address( along with EVERY OTHER ONE on my list. Email me and I can get you a pic of the intake now and I am still working on the bracketry. Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  14. Hi 66, As far as I am aware of, there were 2 converters that GM made. The first was intended for the turbo 400 and the second was for the 2 speed automatic. the only real difference was the diameter and the stall speeds. A freaind of mine has messed with these things on and off for years. He had a couple of Starfires andsuch and he would take the 2 speed converters and swap them into the 400s. I would get Rocketraider to verify as I think he has some books that might help. I am not sure though. Hope I solved more questions that I raised!!!! Greg
  15. Hi Dave, I Hope you are recovering well from your phone call!!!! I talked to you a while back about the drums. I still have not made it to the yard I was talking to you about. I promise I will soon. 1 Question. I have several sets of 63 and 64 full size drums. Anybody know if they will work????? I know they take the same bearings and seals. I also have lost your email address in a horrible act of stupidity. I clicked on delete( i thought) on a couple of emails and wound up deleting ALL of my old emails. DDDDDOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!!!! Anyway I can guarentee you that you will not, I repeat will not, get a price quote from me, anywhere close, to B & T. I promise!!!!!!!!! Email me, please!!!!!!! Greg drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  16. Prayers are going out here.
  17. Hi RASCARS, I think I have a switch in stock (?!?) it might take me a bit to find it. Have parted several 63 and 64 88's and 98's lately and i might even have a tail light socket too. EMail me so I can send pic's when I find something. Talk soon Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  18. Yeah I have one too. Its a 2 door sedan, rallye red, pearl interior, buckets, console, disc brakes, rally wheels, and t44 hoodlock. Email me if you want to discuss anything. drhotwheels@mybluelight.com Greg
  19. Hi Moin, Looks like the car is as follows: Built in Linden New Jersey. All Silver It is a Sport sedan. Car equipped with Factory A/C. (C60) I need to dig out my book to see what the U75 is. As I had told you previously, all the options might not be on the cowl tag. Check under the seats, you might find the build sheet. Be very careful when you remove it. Those things are really fragile. That should give you a definitive look at the options on the car. I am also still digging in the garage for the parts we talked about.Greg
  20. http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/search.pl Hi Rodrigo, Try the website that I put in on top. This should help. I think they even mix paint too. Greg
  21. I am doing the "same" swap int the Jetstar and I can tell you that the trans tunnel clearance is close. However your 62 I think has a bit more clearance. As far as the mid 70's donor car goes in regards ot the mounts/crossmember, There is a difference. First is the location of the main/engine crossmember. It is a little further back the frame. Those cars are also front steer too. With the crossmember that I am dealing with and I am pretty sure that you are too, Yours should be able to use a 65-70 full size mount that would bolt to the bracket at the rear of the crossmember. As far as the trans crossmember goes, as long as the donor cars is long enough then all should be OK. If you are interested I can send you some pics of my setup to maybe use as reference. I gan get some dimensions too. Let me know Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  22. Hi Moin, Sounds like you hit the jackpot. If I am right your car should be of the bodystyle 3839 which is actually calleda Sport Sedan. You should be able to verify this on the body tag located on the top ledge of the firewall on the passenger side of the car. It should have something to the effect of STYLE-63-3839 BODY- 12345 TRIM 993 PAINT CCA ACC.C60 U73 Y67 The last line on the tag may or may not be filled out Some cars that I have seen are loaded and there wasn't anything on the tag. I just got finished parting one of these beasts. the only thing that I didn't need a tetnus shot to handle was the trunk lid. This thing was rusty. One other thing that you need to do is to look over the frame REALLY REALLY good. These cars sometimes had problems with frame rust. ANyway let me know if there is any trim that you need, I might have it. The car I parted had a "rose" or light red interior in it and SOME of the interior was rather good. LEt me know Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  23. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Rallye350/ There are a lot of good people on there. Hope this helps. I got on there after my purchase earlier this year. I bought a Cutlass S based 2 door sedan. The car is a bucket seat 4 speed w/console,no air car with a 3.42 posi. It is one of 160 and its rough. I am determined to bring it back. Email me if you are looking for any other help. Will do my best. THanks, Greg mrolds88 drhotwheels@mybluelight.com
  24. Just a thought on your situation. I have a 64 Jetstar 88. It has a trans crossmember like you are looking for. The only thing you would have to do would be to drill the bolt holes in the flanges on the side rails. You might want to do some checking as the later 60's Olds's used the same trans crossmember setup, I believe. Another interesting point would be to use the mounts from a 64 Jetstar (or fabricate a set) and use an injected Olds 350. You could even use all factory parts. The 64 Jetstar uses the same mounts as the rest of the fullsize cars up to 70. Hope this helps. Greg
  25. As far as your color selection goes try this link: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/search.pl Hope this works. If it doesn't just use the autocolorlibrary.com in your search engine. You should get something.
