  1. I am looking for anyone who has lived in the Southfield, Mi. during the mid-late 70's. Trying to find a Buick dealership in the area from that time frame.
  2. A few ideas might be having more youth oriented divisions/classes in the AACA. I'm not quite sure how the entire thing works, but as I said before, most young people aren't interested in keeping their classic car classic. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
  3. That is exactly like mine. Same color, except I have the white leather seats, and dark blue dash. Beautiful car guys.
  4. Not a member yet. Still working the kinks out of some other issues before I join. It's been on my to-do-list for quite sometime.
  5. From the album: Buick

Before new paint job. Taken in June of this year. (2005)
  6. If I may chime in. Being considerably younger than most people here, I might be able to offer some insight. The issue with most young car enthusiast, is they don't want to keep their vehicle original. Also, I don't know a whole lot of young people who want to go to a car show with a bunch of older people talking about the "old" days, and telling war stories. Myself, I love to engage in conversation of the past. Gives me a good history lesson. Another issue is advertising. I know that the budget of the AACA is limited, but the right advertising is key in attracting new/young members. Also, getting the word out about the organization in general is key too. I didn't know about the club until last year while I was stumbling around the internet looking for info on my Buick. A few well placed magazine ads would make a world of difference. Just a few ideas from a young pup trying to do what he can for you old war horses.
  7. It's not really for racing, its just that 350 doesn't crank out enough for me. But thanks for the info.
  8. My good friend has a '69 Wildcat with the 430-4, damn good engine. Will a TH350 hold that 455? I'm having tranny problems as it is with the stock 350-4 thats in it now. Also, I should mention this, couple of days ago a guy come to my door asking my how much I want for the white convertible Cadillac. I looked at him kind of funny and told him if he found a white conv. Cadillac in my drive way, I'd give it to him. Needless to say he walked home. But the standing joke about my LeSabre is I should get Cadillac LeSabre Custom airbrushed on the fenders, replace all the Buick emblems with Cadillac emblems, and then drop a 455 Rocket under the hood and call the car a mut. I've got some screw ball friends.
  9. I'm thinking of putting an Olds or Buick 455 in my '75 LeSabre. Anyone know the feasability of this? I'm thinking either a '77 Olds 455 Rocket, or '70 Stage II 455 GS. Anyone know where I can get one or the other for a relatively good price? Preferably with tranny, and as many parts as possible?
  10. Is Edelbrock still in business?!?!?!?!? Heck yes they are. As soon as I had the money for one I ripped the old, broke down, and for the most part non-functional Quadra-Junk....err I mean Jet (even after over-haul), carb off my Buick, and replaced it with a brand new Edelbrock Series 600 carb. Best thing I've done for that car yet. Never had a problem with it ever. Easy to adjust and work on. You'll never hear a complaint from me about it.
  11. A friend of mine and I are looking at a '26 Ford TT Lumber Truck. I was wondering if you guys might be able to give us some info on it. Thanks. P.S. The guy who owns it is asking $1,250 for it, but it's not exactly in $1,250 shape. Should we go for it? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
  12. A machine truly worth the word beautiful. Excuse me did I say beautiful? Gorgeuos, was the word I was looking for. Great job, also, I like that paint, is it a chrome-illusion paint of some kind?
  13. Being only 19, I still have a great respect to anyone who has ever served in any branch of the armed forces, during war time or not. The sacrifices made by all the men and women of WWII was more than heroic. Thank you to all who have served in our nations military.
  14. I never realized that Dave@Moon was on the Republicans side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a shock!!!!!!!! Sorry guys, had to lighten the mood a bit, its been many moons since I have been on the DF.
  15. A couple of friends of mine were ranting that they would'nt buy gas on the 19th. So I hurried home and printed out the facts you all have put on the table. Lets just say they were speechless. P.S. They all did buy gas on the 19th by the way.
  16. Being a GM person, it hurts to hear that. Also, I would'nt be surprised if Buick is the next to go. Although I am an avid Buick, and Oldsmobile collector, I do believe that GM will within 1-2 years will begin to slow down production of Buick, and within 3-5 years, discontinue Buick lines.
  17. Thanks Randall, I appreciate the info, it helps a lot to have all of that. I'm still deciding on whether or not to buy it. I'll keep you posted.
  18. Thanks Glenn, the plate reads as follows; ST 75 4BP67 X 152820BDY TR 92W A65 24L 11R PNT Is the 11R the paint code? Also where can I find the explanation for the code?
  19. Stexch, I have to disagree with your logic. Thieves are not always drug addicts trying to support their habbits. Not even most of the time when it comes to stolen cars. Drug addicts don't want to take their time in stealing something. They want to be in, out, and gone. Plus they have to be able to sell what they steal very quickly for their drug money. A pre-war Studebaker won't sell very fast if you don't have paperwork to go with it. In my personal experience, a car theif is very fast, professional, and profecient. They know what they want, when they have the chance, that is best for them. A drug addict will take something they can get their hands on easily, and quickly. But I do very much like the idea of the Stolen Car forum, I think it would be a very helpful tool in returning some classic and antique cars back to their original, and rightful owners. Just my two cents, and experience.
  20. Thanks Ron, that helps a lot. It has a two barrel carb, so it probably is the 260. Also, I have a friend who owns a '72 Cut Supreme, and he has the 350 Rocket, but it is also a 2 barrel. How can I tell the c.i. of the engine now? The owner says it has a Rocket in it. Thanks for the info.
  21. Thanks John. I didn't expect anyone to be online this late, but I do appreciate it.
