  1. A key word is "DOCUMENTATION" if there is something that came on your car you must be able to show upon request proof that it was on there from the factory. I have several AACA Senior cars and there were times when I was asked to provide some type of proof as far as an item like for instance radial tires. My 73 Cadillac came with radial tires and the judges were unsure if a 73 would have had them. Lucky for me I happened to have the owners manual in the glove box that mentioned radial tires in it so I was fine. So when your getting your car ready for a national meet always remember to bring "documentation".

  3. Lately I have seen in different publications that the Buick GS's are (for some unknown reason) not bringing as much as they should in auctions and in private sales. The authors of the articles also said that its a shame too because the Chevelles are bringing mega money and the GS's are not as common as the Chevelle and are selling for a fraction of the money.

I am kind of partial to the 1970 GS 455 because I have one but I still say they are awsome cars. The way they look, perform, and ride in my opinion is better then some of the other muscle cars of their time.

I guess it all boils down to what everybody likes!

  4. I am in the process of doing a paint job on a 65 Cutlass. Can someone tell me how you would get the Cutlass emblem off of the fenders and also the chrome moulding? I tried taking the inner fender out and I still cant get my hand in there to get it out! Is there a trick to getting it out?

  5. I was just wondering what everyone thought of the changes with some of the classes.

I think the professional car class will be great because some of the cars are works of art. My father has a 61 Cadillac hearse that has been in several nationals and although it freaks some people out most admire the craftsmanship and design of the cars.I think that the class will bring out more of the cars that are out there.

  7. Lately there are a lot of different scams out there involving several online auctions. I had sold a car on Ebay a few months ago and when the guy came to pick the car up he was more then happy with it. Now after a few months I got an email from another company with an Ebay logo on the page stating that the buyer started a claim against me that the car was listed wrong requesting that I pay him over $1,000. After speaking to a few people I found that the scam is like a scare tactic that people are using to get money back off of the seller after they have already purchased the car. Needless to say they get deleted every time.

The second scam I heard of is where a person wins an auction and sends the seller a check for more then the item was and wants the seller to send the ballance to a third party for shipping costs but they want the money sent asap to speed the process up. Someone I know actually still has a check for $4,500 that was sent to him for a $2,000 car.

I guess you just have to be carefull so you dont get shafted.
