  1. Thanks cmat. I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me. I do have an original of the photo you show here but if you sould ever run into any others, let me know - please - and I will see if have them yet.
  2. E-116-YH, That would be a cool photo if it were clear but it is hard to make it out. I now know where it was from January 24th thru the 31st. Every bit of information I get is a great help to my project. Thanks
  3. I still run into a photo or an article in an old newspaper from time to time but this is sure a long and slow process I have taken on LOL. Still looking tho.
  4. Hey Kevin, I do have that brochure and want to thank you for the offer of a copy. It is very interesting to look through and read. I think it MIGHT \have been given out to prospective DC8 buyers and perhaps to some of the people that visited and looked at the Marathon Car when it stopped at the different Dodge dealers as it was traveling. Not real sure and that is a part of the research I am doing. Thanks again - Bob
  5. Hello E-116-YH, It has been some time since I have found anything new but there has to be a lot more out there to be found. I have come to somewhat of a stand still but still trying to get the trips all defined and the routs they took on each trip. A huge job but I am still working on it. I have found many articles in old newspapers from 1930 and 1931 but still a lot of voids to be filled. I am looking for any photos I can find to help me document where the car was at what time. The photos seem to be a good honest way to determine the miles the car had at each point where there was a photo taken. I also am using the photos to examine details that might show in one photo that are not visible in another. There is still help I am sure but just waiting for it to come to light. Do you have any idea of where I might find information or photos to see if I have it yet or need it?
  6. You might try contacting the person that originally posted the photos and see if they still have them and would send them to you. I have sent photos to people when requested. We are all into the cars together and need to help each other when we can. Just a thought.
  7. Here we are, 2022 is here and guess what - I am still looking for any 1930 Dodge Marathon Car photos. I have found a couple that I didn't have and sure there are more out there. If anyone found or has some they would like to sell, please contact me through the forum. This project I am working on is taking a lot longer than I thought but if I am going to do it, I want it to be right and accurate. Thanks for any help.
  8. It's been a while since I last saw a reply so thought I would put the word out that I AM still looking for original or good copies of photos of the 1930 Dodge Marathon Car. I have found a few that I didn't have but would like to find and get as many that I can that I don't have. If you have any or know someone that does, please contact me here. Thanks and have a great New Year.

  10. Merry Christmas to you and yours too. Be safe.
  11. Hey Ruben, Nice looking headlights and hard to find in this condition.
  12. I am in need of one or two body to frame bolts and the nut plates. This is a photo of what I need only this is a 3/8" and I need the ones using a 7/16 bolt. I would like to keep the body mount bolts all original and not just use a bolt and nut. These are for a 1963 Galaxie XL convertible. Thanks for any help.
  13. I have used molasses for a couple of years and it has worked great. I use one part molasses to 7 parts water and works good for me. I have even soaked parts for a couple of weeks, then rinse them with a pressure nozzle on a garden hose and found part numbers I never were on the parts. I am going to get another gallon soon because I have original nuts, bolts and washers and a few other small parts I want to remove the rust from.
  14. I too agree that getting a build card is a great idea. Well before this "covid" hit, I sent for build cards on five of my cars and they had them for three of them. It has really helped to know the information on the build card. I was amazed to find that my 1930 DC8 was actually shipped to Phoenix, AZ and it is still in AZ to this day. If you can get the build card, it is worth any effort or time spent doing it.
  15. I got the build card from mopar for my 1936 and it had that information on it. I have no idea of what other way to find that out. Good luck
  16. Looking for the curved wire protector that goes under the back seat of a 1963 Ford Galaxie convertible and protects the power window wires. Mine is rusted too bad to use so need a good one I can use. Trying to keep the car as original as possible. Thanks for any help.
  17. I hate the thought of any of my cars being turned into street rods or modernized. That said, I see a decline in the interest of most of the younger generation in an original car. Also, some people are no longer interested in buying one because they are afraid the fossil fuels are going to be eliminated thus making it unable to even use one. An old car could be modernized with electric motors and still used and have that old look. I am no longer in the best of health nor am I young enough to really be concerned about the future so I have considered starting to sell the cars I have except for one that my wife and I can enjoy for the rest of our time. One can only hope that there will be enough interest in the old cars that at least some will survive to represent automotive history.
  18. Wife and I had a 1973 swinger with the 318 and loved that car. I started having problems with it not wanting to start - off and on -. It turned out to be an electronic module and after replacing it, it started and run every time. It has been too long ago for me to remember just where that module was but there should be some kind of book out there to show it and it's location. Something to check out. Good luck and enjoy that ole Dodge.
  19. E-116-YH Yes, I am. Always looking for info and pictures of the Marathon car.
  20. I have a set of 6 of these rings for my '36 Dodge RS cp. I like the looks of the painted wheels with the sunburst and pin striping too. I have thought that if I could ever get mine done, I would use the painted wheels without the disks for the road tires and use the disks for the side mount spares. A couple of my disks had the Lyon stamp on the back. I have put a few pictures from the original 1936 Dodge accessories fold out showing the rings.
  21. GREAT find. My 1936 Dodge headlights have been converted to sealed beam and I hope I now have all of the original parts to take them back original. Good luck.
  22. The 1930 Dodge DC8 used the DX3 from the factory.
  23. Many old cars have been over restored and no longer a true example of the way the factory sent them out. I like to do a restoration as the factory made the car, not what I think looks good. Just my thoughts.
  24. I to have them for my 1936 Dodge and mine are different than the ones in this sale. Mine are the right ones for 1936, as shown in the 1936 Dodge accessories fold out. Check out the original price for these.
  25. Google the plymouth doctor. They had door skins for a car I had
