  1. Took mt Reatta to a private car collection in Scottsdale, AZ. ( Denali Motorsports) Amazing, Packards, real race cars, all the classic pre-war stuff. A very interesting day indeed. My top is up, wanted to run the AC; "good for the seals." Dad would be proud
  2. Here is my version in PDF for your enjoyment. Please feel free to plagiarize it like I did yours! Yes, according to the article I got the from that Series 60 Business Coupe was the only other two seater by Buick. I can send you the whole article if you would like to take a look at it. I thought adding a trivia tidbit at the end would encourage the reader to finish reading once they started, car people just love that sort of thing. Ronnie04272018.pdf
  3. I changed the last paragraph a bit, thank you Ronnie! I am going to get it laminated today. I have a three ring binder with Reatta articles, pictures fact sheets, photo's original paper work ect, it is 100 pages now!! It is everything you ever wanted to know about the Reatta
  4. 44,000 miles, my friend bought it from the original owner.
  5. I agree that getting the Reatta's out in the public goes a long way toward long term collectible status. True story. A few weeks ago we had a Concours car show here in Fountain Hills, I took my Jaguar. I met a gentleman that had 2 Gt 40's, a 2006 model and a new one. I asked him how you get on the list to get one of these beautiful cars. Just an aside, they do not sell these cars to anybody, you go on a list and they select people based on a certain criteria. As it turns out, one of the important factors to decide whether you can get a GT 40 is "are you planning on showing your GT40 if selected." Ford deems it VERY important that people that get these cars get them out there and are not sold to some rich collector that will buy it and stick it in a vault, never to be seen by the public. In the case of my guy, he takes his cars to all the major car shows and ever took one to Europe as well. He did 10 national car shows last year.
  6. I plan on attending this years Nationals and am really looking forward to attending the Reatta Rendezvous!! Thanks for putting this together Marck, see ya in Denver.
  7. I knew there was a story there Dave, an unusual date to remember unless tethered to another life event. Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthdays to the girls!
  8. Speaking for Dave's Engine & Transmission, "Awe Dave, your such a sweetheart, I did not think you would remember our anniversary."
  9. I really love the fiberglass mock up. The roof line is much better than the production model and the front end is more aerodynamic as well. The thing I really liked about this article is it answers a question we have pondered on this forum, why didn't they have a convertible available in 1988. Now I finally know why
  10. Interesting article about the beginning of the Reatta. Reattastory04242018.pdf
  11. I would definitely swap hem out to see if you bought a defective unit, sounds like you did. Question: Why install a used part when that item is available new?
  12. Try here, they may be able to help: http://www.buickreattaparts.com/
  13. Interesting blog includes remarks about the Reatta by Gary Haakenson : https://garyhaakenson.blogspot.com/2017/09/collectible-cars-barrett-jackson-and-me.html
  14. This has to be a rare color combo, a silver Reatta coupe with a blue interior. A very low mile car, pretty sharp!
  15. Two great cars! I just adore the Select 60's, your a lucky guy to own one!!
  16. That 1991 at Bill Kay has been for sale quite a while. It was for sale while I was doing my search. The moneys right for a good car and at 50,000 miles, you would think it would sell quickly. That being said, the paint looks like a 150,000 mile car, the stainless bumpers are corroding, the pin stripes on the trunk appear to be falling off, no photo's of the engine (not a good sign), not a decent photo on the seats and interior, etc. It just does not look like a low mile car to me and I think others fell the same way. As we have always heard, let the buyer beware (Caveat Emptot).
  17. You are correct, 2/91. Thank you.
  18. I know on Oldsmobiles you can identify the year, month and week a car was produced using the cowl tag, is this possible with Reatta's?
  19. They are on Autotrader, here is the link: https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars-for-sale/buick-reatta-for-sale
  20. There is a guy in Colorado selling a Maui blue vert for $25 and he also has a white/red vert for 21 grand with 35000 miles. There is also a red/tan vert in Eunice LA selling for $24 with 17,000 miles. My opinion, the Driftwood very will sell for 22-24 grand, good money for sure.
  21. I have a bit of a different take on the lack of a mention about Reatta's. In my opinion, Reatta's are already collectible and should not be included in a list of future collectibles. Low mile convertible Reatta's are now going for over $20,000. ( right now there is a Reatta on EBAY listed at $27,900, and two other Reatta's going for $24,000 and another for $25,000 in other publications) I don't care what the condition, a Pacer, Toyota Cressida, a 1988 Chevy Nova or a Jaguar XK8 will never get that kind of money. All the cars listed really are not getting any real money, a benchmark of collectibility. I see many higher mile Reatta Convertibles getting over $10,000 now, that is a huge improvement ever over 5 years ago. Another example, in an all Chevy car show a late 80's Nova would never win best Chevy in show regardless of condition yet my Reatta won Best Buick recently in a BOP show with over 100 other Buick's. Bottom line, I think the Reatta is collectible right now and should not be on a list of possible future collectibles.
  22. I really like the color combo, sharp! I know people on this forum always ask when our Reatta's are going to get some love and increase in value, It seems to be happening right before our eyes. We may all be longing for the days you could pick up a decent Reatta for a fair price!!
  23. 2 car shows and a wax job this weekend!
