  1. Had another buyer contact me from my Hemmings ad tonight before I remove it. Just very good news for our beloved Reatta by Buick!! Happy new owner!!
  2. Today it was time to say goodbye to my 4th Reatta. She was a beauty! It was Barrett Jackson weekend this past week in Scottsdale. Many of the buyers go to the Pavilions in Scottsdale to check out the local offerings. I took the car on Saturday morning after waxing it with Griots garage spray on wax and hung a for sale sign on it as all the buyers checked it out. Within 5 minutes I had 3 people that offered to buy the car. Number one that approached me took delivery today, he was a happy man (not a collector however, wanted a toy.) Needless to say, I got full asking price for the car with all the sharks in the water. Barrett Jackson sets the price?? Hardly. It attracts buyers but to get a decent price unless your selling a 1963 split window restomod Corvette with all the modern amenities your not in the right place. My opinion, theses cars get good money for well taken care of cars.
  3. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/d/phoenix-buick-reatta-1990/7048611522.html Wow, a good deal, running but needs tlc. I think the windshield alone is worth the money.
  4. I must restate my position above. BJ may set the standard for vintage muscle cars but not for specialty cars like the Reatta. BJ is a rich mans game for rare vettes, mustangs, etc. Trying to sell anything else at this sort of an event is a fools errand.
  5. Sold for $7150. The Reatta is a specialty car and is not a good candidate for a no reserve auction. Particularly bad is BJ which specializes in Muscle cars and resto-mods. A fool and his money.....Someone got a steal!
  6. I figure the SS 60 had a reserve around 35 grand. Nice car, people will pay good money for great cars .
  7. Wow, I want it!!!! Really looking forward to the sale price.
  8. That is one beautiful car, welcome to the forum!!
  9. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/1988-1991-buick-reatta-review-history-photos/?sc_cid=AppleNewsAMAGArticle Automobile article.
  10. Just because I hope to be without Reatta sometime this year (2020) I am staying on the forum. There is one more Reatta on my bucket list, eventually I just have to experience owning a select 60. The red and white color scheme may be the coolest Reatta if not coolest car ever. You rarely see them unless your at a Reatta meet or a very large car show but the guys that built this car really got it right. For you 60 owners, please post photos on this thread.
  11. My subscription ran out on that magazine a few months ago, it's good to hear the Reatta is getting some well deserved press!
  12. I really appreciate your input Nittany. I have really agonized over this decision. Both cars are just perfect, the Jag only has 30,000 miles on it as well. My garage ceilings are too low for a lift. I have a friend who will store the car but it's 2 and a half hours from Phoenix. He will trailer it up there but long term storage just does not seem right, not to mention issues that arise when storing a car for long periods of time. I even contacted the Penske racing Museum here in Phoenix about displaying my 1974 Pace car for a year. Unfortunately, they want the car but it has to be owned by Rodger Penske to be in the facility. I will keep racking my brain how to keep her and promise I will not give it away. If it's still available in a few years that would be just fine, I don't need the money, just the space. Attached are two photo's of the Jaguar, you see why the decision is so damn hard to make?? LOL
  13. I finally listed my car in Hemmings. Here is a copy of the ad. I am planning on adding a shot of the dash board showing miles and no warning lights. If anyone has any "helpful" suggestions, please chime in! https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/buick/reatta/2351843.html
  14. It's not the only 2 seat Buick ever produced. Either misinformed or a fibber.
  15. It's a pretty straight forward job, just avoid breaking the plastic bezel. My biggest worry.
  16. I guess you do learn something every day. Apparently, the sensor in the Reatta not only recognizes the pressure in the system but also how many pounds of Freon the system actually has. My mechanic knew this thankfully. I am getting the system evacuated Monday and refilled properly. My Autozone AC gauge just was not up for the job. Thanks guys, hopefully someone in the future that has this issue will find this thread
  17. I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and cleared the codes, again, the system works fine for 1 minute then Service AC light comes on with a 447 code. weird.
  18. Well, if you want car troubles, put a for sale sign on your car! My AC light came on. I looked up previous posts and thought it lead to a replacement of the low AC switch. It is holding a charge and the AC light comes on for a minute after I clear the codes but then the compressor switches off and the light come on. I have a B447 code and a r344 afterward. Any suggestions? Just to be clear, the switch I replaced is the one connected to the rear AC line with two wires attached.
  19. I remember selling my Reatta book to Kingsley after he posted he needed it for the opening. Very classy guy!
  20. I am getting my 1970 Pace Car back after 3 years in restoration. I have 5 classic cars and a 4 car garage. It was a very difficult decision for me to sell the car. I find myself never driving it due the low odometer number so I am hoping a collector will pick it up and preserve it as myself and three others have. I still have not listed in on Hemmings, I am avoiding this act. Just a word on Joe. He is a personal friend of mine and I just look at him as a good friend. He was in the Army, did drug intervention in Turkey for 6 years, has been in law enforcement from Deputy to Sheriff. I just have so much respect for him. He is actually a kind and generous man. I do agree with you however, I would not like this forum to get into politics!!!!!
  21. It was a Thanksgiving day parade not a political rally. A bit confused here. Oh, well.
  22. I spent part of my day transporting America's Toughest Sheriff, Sheriff Joe of Maricopa Country in a Thanksgiving parade. I hope everyone had a great day!
  23. Go to the Reatta Owners Journal for the procedure. www.eastcoastreattaparts.com can make the repair and the turn around is quick!
