"Talk about bolting on too much “Bling” .................." That was Al Rodway in a nutshell. Most of his cars were like that. His favorite car was that tan & brown 1928 Cadillac phaeton with dual running board spotlights & Trippe Lights. Here's the car in 1962. It was at Hershey for sale maybe 10 years ago. As you can see from the photo, Al liked to eat too.

Al Rodway was the owner then. He would have sold it shortly after this photo was taken as he was out of the hobby by 1970. I believe that was taken at Greenfield Village. It's a 1928 Model G with Merrimac body.
  3. For the Cadillac, 1951 or 1952 62 series sedan is correct. We need to enlarge the photo of the area under the headlight of the car to determine which year. 1951 had a cross hatching pattern while 1952 had a gold V for Cadillac's 50th anniversery.
  4. Both this red one and the green one with wheel dics currently offered for sale came out of the same collection in the Midwest. The red one was sold at the Hershey RM auction 3 years ago for around 200K I believe.
  5. What did this air cleaner come off of? It's labeled 1937 Pontiac, but when I look at photos of 1937 Pontiac engines online they all seem to have a shorter air cleaner on them.
  6. I went to Los Angeles Craigslist and can't find it. Can you post a link?

  8. Here's an interior shot of that roadster.

  10. This small series 1939 Mercedes was at a local show today. Owner claimed it was in Norway during WW II and was used by the Luftwaffe.
  11. Found these skirts that are labeled 1957 Buick. Were these a factory accessory, or just Foxcraft aftermarket? Is there any demand for these?
  12. A friend of mine was showing me a new storage unit he's renting to store a few of his cars and we discovered this parked on the property too. An Imperial LeBaron sedan. It has Oregon plates on it with a 1995 sticker. The body is pretty good, but someone has begun taking parts off it. The instrument cluster is removed, as are the taillights. It's a pretty grey color with a touch of blue in it.
  13. Look closely at the tires of the victoria coupe just posted. The tires size in the sidemounts is smaller than what's on the ground. It's quite noticable when you look at it.
  14. There should be a flat square spot on the side of the carrier on the passenger side which will tell you the ratio. The most common ratio is probably 4.5 : 1. You'll have to take a wire brush to it to see it.
  15. In my mind, the headlights are worth more than the rest of the car.
  16. https://www.ohio.com/news/20190607/local-history-driving-uphill-was-sport-in-richfield Richfield is outside of Akron.
  17. If that Cadillac still has the original paint on it, I’d think it would be a good candidate for the preservation class at Pebble.
  18. The problem is there's about 4 or 5 cars in that collection that started off life as 5-7 passenger sedans that someone cut the front roofs off to make them into towncars and then painted them wacky colors. They're all pictured in the book. The blue Stutz is really wrong. That car stared off as a factory bodied club sedan and someone really butchered it. Sad. It started off like this. And now looks like this.
  19. It's a recreation of a 1934 Packard LeBaron phaeton, but they built it on a 1937 chassis to take advantage of the independent front suspension & hydraulic brakes. Probably more fitting for a Barrett Jackson type auction than the auctions at Amelia/Pebble/Hershey.
