Someone needs to save this before this dummy turns it into a hot rod. Irwin, PA is just East of Pittsburgh right off the turnpike. You must contact the seller through Facebook.

I gave her a brick from the Peerless factory 20+ years ago to go along with her Peerless.

This car could be the back end of a body swap. The more desirable 2 door body put on a more desirable or better condition chassis. The rear fenders on this look like they’re from a late 30s or 40s car. The landau bars are on upside down. Also the temp and ammeter gauges are modern replacements.

The Ultramatic didn't come out until the 23rd series Packard cars which I believe were introduced mid year 1949. No 1948 or early 1949 22nd series Packards had Ultramatic.

Interesting it only has one taillight. By 1937 I would have thought Cadillac had 2 taillights on everything, including its lower priced models like this one. Or perhaps it was filled in, but it doesn’t look to be.

Looks like a decent car. It’s a 61 series though, not a 62. Upholstery material is wrong too.

I actually believe all 1950 Custom 8s came with Ultramatic.

But unfortunately with the Ultramatic transmission which makes it a slug to drive.

Ray does fix the center hood hinge holders. Both front & back. It’s common for them to break or wear to the point where they won’t hold the center strip anymore. You send him your originals and he fixes them.

The “optional power top mechanism” the ad mentions wasn’t optional at all. All 3100 1941 Cadillac 62 series convertible coupes produced came from the factory with a vacuum operated top.
And yes, the color isn’t even close to the original Valcour maroon, which is a very dark, muddy maroon. This car is painted restoration red.
Too bad they didn’t include a picture of the cowl mounted data tag. We could have figured out what color it was originally

Looks like they overfilled the radiator & antifreeze went out the overflow tube once the car warmed up.

That looks like the sound deadening padding that came with the new dishwasher I installed at my house a couple years ago.

I like it, but the wrong upholstery material kills it for me. Looks like velour. Here’s a mint one in the same colors I saw a few years back. They look so much better with the skirts on.

I too am interested in knowing if that is an original color or not. I found this ‘28 Tudor locally that’s been sitting a long time. It’s a similar paint scheme to the sedan.

I believe it’s from 1939 or 40 Cadillac.

Famous car for Bond aficionados. Here's one that didn't make it.

March 3rd. 50 degrees and no salt on the streets. Perfect day for a drive.

While I like these and think this one is worth saving, look at the battery in the engine photos. I don’t think this car has run since the 1960s or 70s.

I believe the attaching point is somewhere on the distributor tower. Is your car standard shift or hydramatic?

Was red an original color on these? I see overspray in the engine bay, indicating a repaint. Looks like the original buyer didn’t spring for a clock as I see a clock delete panel in the dash.
1934 Studebaker Dictator coupe.
