  1. I had a new 1966 Chevelle. In 1971 the right rear wheel locked up. It turned out that one lining peeled off and wedged itself on top of the other brake shoe. The car had low miles and the linings were not worn. Just a bonding failure. I have never even heard of anyone else that had that experience.
  2. If you do decide to re-solder, be sure to clean the surfaces to bright metal, including the areas that will be directly under the rivet heads . Tin the surfaces to be joined before riveting. You will find that the solder will flow into the joint with no flux trapped between the parts to cause rust. Don't forget to solder the rivet heads. Use only steel or brass rivets, no aluminum. Soldering is a skill as is riveting. Do your research before you jump in. Good luck, Terry
  3. The tail light was an add on since the model A only came with one on the drivers side. I look at the cowl which shows the stainless cowl band of the Model A and the way the running board splash apron blends into the front fender. The visor above the windshield looks like the 30-31 A Ford. I agree with Keiser.
  4. Please post your Oakland pictures! Those are beautiful cars unrestored or restored. Terry Kean
  5. I am trying to find any information on this manually operated, babbitted connecting rod machining tool. Pictures of this tool would be a big help in seeing if this one is complete. Thank you, Terry
  6. These parts are pitted but very solid and not bent. The license plate bracket is marked filite. These items came from a parts car that I had at one time and they are original Dodge parts. $35.00 + shipping. If more pictures are needed just ask. Thank you, Terry
  7. I know that this has been altered with a hack saw but the aluminum levers are nice. If I can get an ID It will go to the appropriate area to see if anyone can use it. Thank you.
  8. There is a man's face showing in the head light lenses. He appears to be looking at the woman working. He does not look happy.
  9. I have had this carb for 33 years but never had a car to put it on. Everything is there, all controls work, nothing frozen up. Will need to be gone through. Look at the pictures. $100. plus shipping
  10. That is quite a serious hat that lady is wearing. Perhaps part of the rear seat heater option.
  11. Nicolas, Can you list the bolt circle of your brake drums? I have some nice 19" 60 spoke wheels with outside lock rings
  12. Did you mean Ford door handles?
  13. Perhaps to machine in the indentations in the rod and cap that lock the insert bearings in position to keep them from spinning in the rod.
  14. What year did Chrysler corp. start using insert bearings instead of babbit in their connecting rods? Thanks
  15. Saying that any Model A club member should be able to help is a stretch. Many members know nothing about replacing a closed car top because they do not do their own work. It works the same for any hobby. Cars, motorcycles, boats or airplanes it makes no difference, Some people are mechanically inclined while many are not. There are books and the internet, seek the information and learn.
  16. Do you have a photo of the spare tire hold down clamp? I have one that I can't ID.
  17. very nice brass arm and cowl light shell. Threaded bolts are intact. Check the photos $35.00 plus shipping. Private message please for questions. Thanks, Terry
  18. Dave, I still have the 2 Byrne- Kingston oil vac tanks shown if you are interested. Terry
  19. keiser31, Thanks for the ID.
  20. This looks just like a DA Dodge with the exception that it has rivets instead of screws holding the light shell to the arm and has what appear to be carraige bolts that hold the light to the cowl. I have seen many of the carriage bolt style cowl lights, I have never seen a riveted light like this. The arm is brass. When I think about it I never checked any of the cars for rivets, I just assumed that they all used screws. Thanks, Terry.
