  1. Hi everyone. Still looking for a hardtop storage cover (light blue with the pentatrident logo on it) that goes over the hardtop when it sits on the rack. Does anyone have one they are looking to sell or know where I could get one? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
  2. Hi @Pbajay. I am still looking actually. What year is it/ does it have the center pins? Also, what color combo, and do you have the storage rack and blue hardtop cloth storage cover with the pentatrident logo on it?
  3. Anyone have these two items they'd like to sell? If you're selling the hardtop with them, even better, but not required.
  4. Hi @Matthew Cody. Do you still have the top? If so, could you post pictures of condition/wear spots?
  5. Hi Rob. Does this vehicle have the hard top rack and cloth cover that was sold with the TC's?
  6. Hi @marty mopar. Just wanted to check back about this and also see if you have or know where I can get the hard top storage rack and Pentatrident cloth cover? Thanks Marty!
  7. Hello everyone, I am still looking for a 1990 or 1991 hardtop with the ginger (tan) headliner. Also looking for the storage rack and blue cloth TC hardtop cover with the pentatrident logo. If you have any of this for sale, please let me know condition, price and location. Mine was sadly destroyed in a recent home fire.
  8. Hi @marty mopar. Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been pretty chaotic since the house fire dealing with everything. The car is currently at a body shop in southern IL for repairs from the fire damage. How much for the (2) Maserati trunks/glove box key blanks? Do you know where to get the black Chrysler pentastar engine key blanks? As far as the front moulding, is that strip from tire to tire 3 separate pieces or all 1? If it's 3 separate, I am just looking for the center piece. Also might be needing the passenger side chrome and body moulding that attaches to the middle of the door (door only). Still looking for a hardtop as well if you have recommendations. That burned up in the fire, unfortunately as it was being stored. Thanks Marty, and hope you're doing well.
  9. Hello Fellow TC owners, I'm a longtime TC owner and TC forum member. I am sad to say my apartment building burned to the ground last month, and I lost everything. It was a horrible fire, and most of the residents barely got out alive. Unfortunately, both sets of my TC keys were still in the apartment and were lost in the fire. So, I was unable to move it for days until it was finally towed to a bodyshop. In that interim, I was unable to move or wash the car and the ash from the fire that had fallen on it and the other cars in the parking lot caused damage to other parts of the car. The hardtop was also stored in the building and was destroyed. So, I am looking for some parts to try to fix my poor baby up. The parts I know so far that I am trying to locate and price are as follows: (2) black Chrysler pentastar key blanks (2) Maserati trunk key blanks (1) TC hardtop (ideally black, but flexible with repainting) and ginger headliner (1) front bumper chrome trim piece (1) passenger door trim piece There may be other parts as well, but these are the ones I am looking for so far. If you have any of these items or know of another owner who may have them, please let me know as well as prices and location. Thanks everyone for your help. At least I still have the car. It's one of my only possessions left, but it's a good one and a sentimental one to have!
  10. Thanks guys. I'm trying to avoid buying a whole new motor if at all possible since the motor was working fine before I damaged the brushes. I would assume replacing the brushes would be cheap if I can just figure out where to get them. Has anyone on here done this before? I know some people have mentioned rebuilding theirs or possibly doing it for others. It's a simple enough fix if I can just find the right brushes to pop in the motor I have that works otherwise.
  11. So, the brushes in my top pull down motor broke when I opened the motor and closed it back up. The carbon broke off the end of the wires. It looks like a fairly easy replacement to just remove these and put new brushes on. Anyone know where to buy the correct replacement brushes for this top pulldown motor? I noticed it says 318A on the part that clips the end of the wire on to the terminal.
  12. Hello all, I'm repairing the top pull-down motor assembly (again). I did this years ago when I replaced the gear that stripped out, but the housing was a bit cracked. It worked for a bit, but then stripped the gear a bit again, and the crack got worse. We tried to repair the housing, but still not great. So, now, I'm replacing the housing with the new nylon version from the parts store and replacing the gear again as well. Already got the new housing and gear, but can't remember what grease we used the last time we repaired this? I know it's that baby-blue colored grease like the original was, but can't remember what type it was, and I know color isn't always an indicator of what the grease-type really is. What is the best type to use for this assembly with the clear plastic gear and the new nylon housing?
  13. Hi all, Question regarding our side moldings. Someone hit the passenger door on my TC while it was parked (of course they didn't leave a note, even though there was no way they didn't know they did it). The body molding got scraped up, and the body shop feels like it is not salvageable. Not because it was damaged so bad. It's honestly just scraped off some of the paint, but he's afraid he won't be able to take it off to repaint it without bending it up really bad and ruining it. He told me I should just get a replacement. My obvious point is, if I get a replacement, that one will have to be taken off of another car without being destroyed. So, I'll be in the same boat. He also tried to tell me it's the same moldings as some of the LeBarons, which I do not think is the case. I even told him I've had them repainted once before so I know it can be done. Do any of you all have suggestions on getting this repaired? I think he should just remove it carefully and it should be fine, especially since I do not know another way to get one of these strips except a parts car which will have the same problem. He does great work, but I do not think this thing should be that complicated for a bodyshop.
  14. Yep. That's what I did, although I think mine was from an old Lebaron. It fit a touch tight to where it rubs on the leather just a touch, but not bad.
  15. Hey Hemi. Thanks for the feedback. I took your advice and we did get it apart. There was still a couple small broken sections in there from the old mast, which we have now removed. We put it all back together, but it still won't go all the way up and down. If I help it out a bit with my hand, it works fine. but it just seems to not have the oomph to do it on it's own for some reason, even though I hear the motor keep running for a few seconds after it catches when I don't help it. Everything sounds fine, just can't figure out what is preventing it from having the ability to do it all on it's own the full length up and down. The mast and the new teeth replacement I got from you new. So, that should all be fine. Maybe the motor has gotten a little bit weaker over the years, even though it sounds fine and runs the full length if I gently help it a bit?
  16. Hey Hemi, Sorry for the delayed response. The TC is in the body shop at the moment getting a few little touchups. I'm not the Allpar writer for ya, unfortunately. I think my grandfather's dealership started back in the 60's in the St. Louis area. They started as a Plymouth dealer at first, and then not too long after added Chrysler and Dodge, and then later, of course, Jeep and Eagle. My dad also had a Chrysler dealership for a while in Southern IL. That's a heck of a Mopar in the picture above to work on! My family are all Mopar people, and they used to love the Dukes! I've heard John Schneider is a great guy. What a cool story to have! I lived in Tennessee now and spent a few years in Los Angeles as well. The TC was my first car, and is now my occasional fun car, and I hope to hold on to it for the rest of my life.
  17. Thanks Reaper1! I'll try this first to get an idea before I tear into it. The weird thing is the floor behind the seat has never felt wet. Just the part in front of the passenger seat and then the trunk. I'll try this first, and then if nothing else, I guess I'll have to take the seat out and carpet up and try another hose test.
  18. Thanks for the recommendation Hemi! Next time I've got it out on a hot day, I'm going to check this out. If the fan isn't kicking on when it should when the compressor runs, then I guess I'll take a look at the relay first and see if that fixes it. Fingers crossed I can get this pinned down soon!
  19. Thanks Hemi. Always impressed with your knowledge of our TC's! I am not the most mechanically advanced when it comes to work on cars, though I have okay knowledge and can often get by with some guidance. Usually, when I'm posting, it's to run things by you all for your guidance, and if I get in over my head, my dad helps me with these "projects". He was a Chrysler mechanic for years and then a service manager before he owned his own dealership. My grandfather has owned a Chrysler dealership for most of his life as well. That's why sometimes my verbiage might not be the best when I'm explaining an issue I'm having. I often am trying to relay what my dad has told me for y'all's input. I do have a TC service manual, but my dad and I didn't have it handy earlier when we were working on this, and I know our TC's have lots of unique little quirks. I figured there was something else up with this system (like the plug and Allen wrench adjustment), but just didn't know what. I knew we couldn't screw it in from the front. So, that's why I was confused. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction! Made quick work of it once I knew about the plug and Allen wrench adjustment on the back of the caliper. I just did a brake job on my newer vehicle myself about two weeks ago, and the piston pushed in pretty easily without any separate adjustments. So, that also was throwing me for a loop. Always appreciated Hemi! You save a lot of us many stressful hours of confusion and yanked out hairs! 🤪
  20. Hi Reaper1, Picking up on this as it's still been a nagging issue on a hot day. We did end up replacing the alternator shortly after my last post, but that hasn't made any difference for this. I did take a look at the hard lines, and they seem to be in good shape. No visible tears or dry rotting on the hoses or holes in the metal portions. Any other suggestions you might have? Is there another easy way to troubleshoot the blend door or another issue that might be causing this problem in the system? Again, as long as I seem to be driving, it seems to be fine, but when I idle at a stop light or in traffic, it seems like the compressor shuts off or something and the air gets warm until I start to drive again.
  21. Hey Garnet & Gold. So, to depress the piston in order to put the caliper back on, are you saying I need to have the key in the "on" position?
  22. Hi Hemi. Sorry for the delayed response. TC's been in storage for a few months. When my father and I replaced it a while back, we cleared out the broken track parts that we could see. My dad thinks there could be some teeth that broke off farther down in the motor possibly, but we can't see anything as it is right now. The motor assembly seems kind of delicate, and I'm afraid we might break it if we try to take it apart. Perhaps there's another issue with these that could cause it to not retract all the way back in properly?
  23. Hey Hemi. Realized I never responded to your comment on this. Thanks for the info. We ended up just replacing the alternator with a new one, and it took care of it.
