  1. The Chrysler AIRFLOW was a great durable automobile! Did 50,000 Great American Race miles in this 1935 C-1.
  2. My parents knew it before did. Picture 1 Had 81 cars with my older brother by age 3. Picture 2 Back seat driver by age 8 (1954 at Horne's Cars of Yesterday, Sarasota FL) Picture 3 Had a 1950 Ford Steering wheel on my bicycle by at 10 Picture 4 Learned to drive on my 12th birthday (1950 Austin Saloon)
  3. Jack M. I may borrow your line the next time. I just responded with my advertised price. Sometimes they say "Is that the best you can do?" My reply is, No, you can pay more if you want to and then I'll do better.
  4. So far, two questions about taking trades and one, "What's your bottom dollar price?" Both stlll available.
  5. Welcome to the AACA Forums, nice looking 53! Where is the car located? City & State Clean title in your name?
  6. A friend of mine, Bud Stanley (Now Deceased) restored a 1915 Cole Touring car in off white with red leather interior. Awesome looking car that he used for Pan America Tours. Sold it an got a 1912 American Fiat to be able to keep up with the other pre-1916 cars. Bud had the Tony Curtis look in that Cole and the Cole looked as elegant as the great Leslie. I miss them both.
  7. For people reading this ad: I had the 59 Lark VIII 2DHTP without the Skytop, back in 1964/65 when the ford Mustangs were new. My Lark would beat them all at Shaw AFB. Great little car!
  8. I think we saw Prince Harry and his new bride Megan leave their wedding in that car! If you do rentals for non royalty, we're interested.
  9. Well then, should I add to or subtract from the price? At least it has Ford stickers on it, whatever it is. Thanks for fact checking me.
  10. I think my two snorkel tubes are the same length, yours looks short on the right side. If I have a Chevy air cleaner that makes it a mixed breed, good reason to sell it. Paul
  11. What makes it special? It was on the Ranchero when I got it, I assumed it was off the T-bird. Is it not a Ford Part?
  12. A 1957 Ford Ranchero and a 1981 Chevrolet El Camino "Conquista" The Ford has a Thunderbird 390 V8 with automatic. https://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/6617329786.html The El Camino is bone stock with a 305 V8. See it @ https://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/6617404175.html
  13. For Marty & Larry, The Equalizer hitch is even more effective to improve towing than the Anti sway bar, especially when the tow vehicle is a light weight. But tongue weight or lack there of is what gets people in trouble. To much makes steering unstable, not enough lets the trailer push the towing vehicle around. Towing 57 Cadillac on a trailer with a F-150 years ago, it turned the towing vehicle and the towed trailer 180 degrees. Fortunately we hit nothing but grass. (To much tongue weight)
  14. Remember the 1928 Model A pickup is smaller than the 30-31 and the pickup does not have an adjustable seat. I've had both. The 28 Roadster pickup was so small for me 6'1" that I had to open the door to get my size 11 show on the clutch. Fun to drive if it fits. I also have a 35 Buick Series 41 that's not exactly loaded with leg room either.
  15. Joe, The longer tongue is also call a "Motorhome Tongue" or truck tongue. When towing a trailer with a wide tow vehicle like a Motor-home or truck with a wide body, you need the extra tongue length when backing to avoid the dreaded "jackknife" (Learned from experience) I don't think it changes the tongue weight unless it might lessen it with the vehicle on the same spot on both trailers, because the fulcrum point changes.
  16. Darren, Our 32 Dodge didn't last long enough for me to get into the side mounts. I don;t even remember it it had a spare on both sides. I should have kept it because the lack of wood would make it a lot easier to restore. than Modet T's, A's and GM cars. It was a driver and I doubled my money, how could I say Not For Sale when asked?
  17. This will end as an expensive NIGHTMARE for somebody, maybe both. However the lawyers will do just fine.
  18. The Cadillac pictured is a "Series 62", not a "6". Cheaper than a Coupe DeVille with a good V8 engine and Hydromatic transmission. They're right about the drawing.
  19. The old saying that "the grass is always greener in the other side of the fence" applies here. I see ads in Canada that look good to me. In fact the last car I bought was in Canada. The easiest car to own and get parks for is the Model A Ford (28-31) There are many bargains on them and plenty of support from their active clubs. Let us know what you are looking for and price range. Then we'll see how serious/reasonable your search criteria is. Restored or in need of a total restoration has a tremendous effect too.
  20. I had a friend with a car philosophy that he would buy a new car and keep it 10 years to get his moneys worth maximized. His new Aerostar didn't last 10 years.
  21. Your may be onto something, but the Body molding ribs in the rear fender wells and the possible boat tail indicate it is a later Planter Boattail Roadster of 1924-25. Roadster instead of a touring because it only has two doors and no windows.
  22. 'There is also a "Al Capone house" in St. Petersburg FL. Located on Bayou Grande Blvd. in the Shore Acres neighborhood. The story was that Capone rented it during baseball's spring training seasons. It was for sale in 1973 and my wife an I considered buying it, but passed because I was in the middle of restoring my first 34 Ford and didn't want another project. That was a decision I often regretted because it sat on 3 lots with plenty of room for garages.
  23. I had a 1981 with the 8-6-4 and found all the bad press to be Fake News. Rode like a Cadillac should and even pulled our first Airstream Trailer through the Smokies. Was fast, smooth and fun to drive. It was all silver when we bought it and I two toned it with white over the silver. Was a classy ride!
  24. Keiser31 took 13 minutes to get that one. Slipping?
  25. Ed, Were any of those cars from the Tom Lester Collection? Some looked like his kind of cars.
