  1. Ive never broke a head bolt on a T ... But if worried about it plenty of Lousy Goosy and a impact gun set at low pressure and like the others said, give it a little to the right and a little to the left. Usually if a stud breaks its in the head or the flange its holding . The other trick that works great is get on the stud with heat red hot and quench it with lots of water, It shrinks the bolt. Ive used that on door hinges where you can get behind and heat the threaded area on the post. It works wonderful.
  2. The value between the two different models is considerable. The big Ambassador , also known as the "Duesenberg of Kenosha" is a real site to behold. The car shown here could be saved with a new set of black sneakers.
  3. You should make wood brackets that fit and then send them to Cattail Foundry and they will cast them from bronze or iron. It shouldnt be a big project.
  4. It will never fail if you dont drive it. New wheels are so cheap!
  5. Ed , sadly no numbers. I was too young then. I was starting to think about something else that turned me on more than old cars.... All that information was in a cigar box in dads office, just never thought Id want it.
  6. This is a pictured of a 7 passenger 1929 Peerless sedan my dad owned in the early 1970s that I would like to located today. I am trying to locate the car. The other 8cly cars like it that are known all have wire wheels, this one different than those in that it rode on wood artillery wheels, had chrome bands on the fender spare tires. The car was sold in PA around 1974. Ill pay a generous finders fee for information that leads me to a purchase. Mike 585 738 1541
  7. 30 YEARS AGO AT HERSHEY A SOUTHERN GUY CAME ALONG AND ASKED DAD WHAT HE HAD FOR A WHOOPETT, DAD SAID SYMPATHY. WE ALL LAUGHED AND HE AGREED.
  8. No I dont..Do you think there is axles and a diff??
  9. Steve Id like pictures of the rear end bits. Mike West
  10. Im sure its a one off conversion of a horse drawn oil tanker. The large springs are pulling that drive wheel forward in essence downward to give it traction. Its a cool old thing.
  11. You can fool some of the people some of the time .... but not all of the people all of the time. Nice pick!
  12. Its REALITY!!!!!!! That car needs a 100 grand spent on it to have a 20 grand car. Nobody is fixing 1920s cars like this at least around here.
  13. another dreamer..... motor has a problem, crappy color and a ugly model and he starts his ad out dont try a get me down!!!!
  14. Around my hood , $5000 would be hard to pull.... I wouldnt spend more that 3 grand on that tub for resale.
  15. EXACTLY ... but we dont drive on dirt roads anymore. Today its more reckless and dangerous to to drive 12-30mph on a highway. Id fear that some jerk with a big truck would run over me from the rear. Think about it, any good brass era Model T Ford will run 45 without any problem. Everybody knows what the speed limit was the=n and why they drove that slow.
  16. Wayne , Thanks for that impute. 10 MPH is a 25% increase in speed so its huge. I need to run at 45 mph on the highway without the motor thrashing like its going to cast its withers. I like the 6 cyls, the open valve train and just the looks of the Buick.
  17. Craig Thank you for your wonderful information!!
  18. My dad had a bunch of cars when I was kid , always a dozen and usually more. Only a few had free wheeling that I remember because they were mostly cheap cars. We would go over some hills on our rides and dad would coast to the bottom and he always called it "Chinese Over Drive" I dont know where the term came from but I still use it..
  19. Ive always admired these teens 6 cyl Buicks. Im curious what a comfortable road speed is for it? I had a 1924 Dodge Brothers roadster , sold it last fall as the car wasnt fast enough to suite me. At 45 it sounded like it was going to blow.
  20. Terry Its amazing! The detail .... is this a actual model you have made?? Mike
  21. Layden, did this mag run at 1/2 speed (camshaft speed) like a normal magneto like any 4 cycle motor?? If so it could be run on a 8 cly automoble motor.
  22. Curious what the vintage of this mag by serial number. Made in Buffalo NY. The type is D81x2 STAMPED SERIAL # 107790 Thank you for any information provided. Mike
  23. The more I look at it Im changing my opinion. Straight shafts on the ends. Why do the drums always have to be missing>?? at least the brakes are there
