  1. Another 16V car has died eh? Oh well, makes ours worth more You may have thought of this but even on a VERY ROUGH interior being parted out from a J yard, the backside panel of the seats is almost always nice, I used those panels to recover armrests...
  2. I really like the doors! And the 16V motor Even though you didn't show us the manifold and turbo
  3. I'm thinking some good quality pics of the Black N Tan interior would be popular here
  4. Nicely done! How did the leather fare after the rain soaking?
  5. I'll be hoping for a write up after this weekend where you meet or exceed your goals BQuick Racing rarely goes as planned for me as I have been sidelined by lots of little gremlins more than I've succeeded Whichever way it goes you'll do a nice job with your writeup as always and description of the record breaking attempt. Best of luck to you and the team
  6. I put about 45 Miles on my Yellow 90 TC this weekend, on the road at 615 just as the sun came up, down to Cars and Coffee in San Clemente(there were 400+ cars.) I ended up answering lotsa questions about the TC. Then the back roads back to Mission Viejo, couple stops at Home Depot and Greenthumb Nursery. Good morning to have the top down and a smooth powerful car.
  7. You could run the TC down to one of our SoCal first Thursday of the month meetings Arti and I'll look the car over for you. 830PM, fist Thursday of the month, Applebee's LaHabra, 1238 Imperial Hwy. There's 3-4 TC owners in this group.
  8. I'm curious Kane of the build date on your door jam, your car does seem to be an odd collection of early and late parts It's like the interior is late(was it swapped out with another car?) but the engine seems like an early car. Peek underneath, does it have a double pivot K frame? I'm betting door jam says June of 88 Another 'late' option your interior has is the fabric tweeter covers versus the fuzzy carpet like stuff. Very clean car! SDAC 27 is the first one I couldn't make it to in over 10 years, I'll be there next year in something with twin cams
  9. So how old is the pump on your 91, is your answer 26 years old? If so are you really wondering why your car is stalling out?
  10. Yep, I run 245/45/16 on 8" rims on the back of the Stuttgart car so maybe I'm jaded on the 16's
  11. What size tires? What brand? Ride quality good, handling improved? Looks good, IMO it's 'hard' to find rims that look right on our TC's. They are kind of a stately looking car so racey or tuner rims just look wrong on there( I mean unless they are red Tim) . They gotta be classy yet discreet. I have a 928 S4 that has 16" rims, unfortunately most tire manufacturers are moving away from 16's. Very few choices in that diameter anymore
  12. Two questions for now, in your first post you said, 'just now getting fuel pump to run'. Does that mean you replaced it? If the answer is NO than that is your FIRST task. A fuel pump CANNOT survive 20 years in storage and put out more than a trickle. Second, did you clean out or at least inspect the fuel tank? Is it filled with sediment/sludge?
  13. I actually didn't know that AZ had emissions testing beyond a visual.
  14. I do just about everything on my collection of TC's save for paint/body/AC work. You want the AC to work? Take it to a qualified shop that has a good Yelp rating. Maybe ask your kids to check that last part for ya
  15. Nice when we're driving more and wrenching less on them! My white TC spit out the rear main seal (I think) several weeks ago so I swapped the battery to my Yellow TC that's been in the garage and not started for 2.5 years, fired it up and swapped cars/spots, now the white one will sit for years before I turn a wrench on it I've probably put 2K on it in two months(ODO no worky, bad gears) I'm enjoying driving it too. 4200-6500 is amazing in this car, nothing I've been next too has stayed with me from 50-90MPH RT Chally, CTS Caddy, Coyote 'Stang and countless slower cars.
  16. DId you fail the CA smog/emissions test Dickie? Where ya at BTW? The smog tests here in Cali are the bane of my existence. I've got modified cars that burn CLEANER and put out lower emissions than they did from the factory and I still can't get them smogged. Which means no driving them At least on any public road
  17. Chrome is a multi step plating process that's deposited on the surface of a material, could be steel like a bumper or even a piece of plastic for an interior item. I know you're learning here(heck, aren't we all?) but Marty already corrected you. It's not Chrome at all, those are stainless steel trim items just like all the brightwork on the whole TC. Never refer to Chrome and TC Maserati's in the same sentence again
  18. ^Yep and all the while the corrosive 'oil milkshake' is eating into the steel parts of the motor. No doubt there is a coolant puddle sitting in a couple cylinders as well. I hope he doesn't try to start it without winding out the plugs first...
  19. Send Ajakeski a PM, he's a wizard with the 2.2 turbo motors and he's in your neck of the woods...
  20. How did you determine that its NOT the flexplate? I don't have much experience with auto trans Chryslers(only had a few) but I've heard a cracked plate can be an intermittent noise?
  21. Got them, well preserved and packaged, thank you. White TC is gonna get some serious upgrades-at some point
  22. I'm gonna rebuild a head soon, I'll take them. PM me your Paypal?
  23. Even in overregulated California you can put any muffler you want on and it's still emissions legal because it's AFTER the catyletic convertor. Turbo motors want as little back pressure as possible so free flowing is good for mileage and power. To retain that original look I've used a high flowing 2.5" in/out performance muffler and had a 'dummy' (fake pipe) added next to the functioning outlet pipe. Looks great from above and flows well. Best of both worlds
  24. But yes, speed sensors go bad as well and are not so very tough to replace if youre under the car. a single 10mm bolt(kinda have to feel it and not see it so much) and a couple two pin leads. There's one basic test I've used to determine is a speed sensor is not functioning. One job it has(other than speedo operation) is to hold the idle up around 1500 RPMS while rolling up to a stoplight to prevent stalling. Basically the test is this, as you roll up to a stoplight at 15MPH or less, depress the clutch and as you decrease speed, the 'idle' should stay above 1500(ish) RPMS until 3MPH or less. So roll up, depress clutch, at 10MPH are the RPMS falling right to UNDER 1000? If so the sensor isn't functioning. The sensor should hold the idle up at 1500 or so until about 3MPH.
