I imagine one of the bolts was in (behind) the timing chain cover meaning he had to remove the cover and balancer.

I've been torching stuff, myself. At a certain point, you don't care if something blows up as long as the bolt comes out.

Willie was the first one to notice this, but I have passed the info on to two other people who had issues after a rebuild. The front dust boot doesn't have holes in it which causes sticking. I would check to make sure this isn't the cause, by pulling it away from the unit. If that is the cause, vent it in a way that makes you comfortable.

My interpretation of the judging is that if it could have been ordered in a color, you can paint your car that color regardless of what the data plate says. I would personally let a tri-tone slide if the colors were available.

Nailheads are becoming much more prevalent in the younger hot Rodder community. Not rat rods, but the same guys. I just sold two 401's to a 30-something Kustom builder up in Waco. I have also seen a bunch of nailhead pics from the Lone Star Roundup last weekend. This could be really good for us Buick guys if they spark a resurgence in aftermarket parts.

Rene is great. I have had him rebuild a couple of radios for customers.

The top pic is closer to original. It is only about an inch at the thinnest part.

I guarantee this one was factory ordered by a color blind driver. This is my Special (as ordered). I deleted the beige when I restored it.

Beemon, those look like wires, not tubing. It actually looks like the wiper is missing.
