  1. 1924 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe Has original engine,14,000 actual miles. Frame off restored to original condition.$30,000 Call 828-635-1000 Cell 828-310-2725
  2. I recently took the complete rear end out from under my 67 vista cruiser for a little clean up and paint. I found the code on the axle tube( its MG) and also painted on the center section. Its a BUICK rear end and I can't find the code listed in the service manual or online anywhere. I know its a 3.23 ratio without posi.Any ideas? Thanks Tony
  3. Got the switch back in and checked the dome lights. When I open the rear door the dome lights come on but when I open the front door only the courtesy lights work. I would think when the front door is open both courtesy and dome lights would come on.I'll check my service manual tomorrow to see if it has a trouble shooting guide. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks Tony
  4. Thanks for the tip on the starter,I didn't get that far along today. Most of my time was spent on the dome lights. I had dash lights, courtesy lights, glove box lights, clock worked but no dome lights. After checking every thing we finally(I think) found the problem. One of the rear jamb switches was bad. I'll have to clean it in some rust remover and clean the paint off of the jamb.Everything on the rear of the car worked fine.
  5. Thanks Joe for the reply,I had planned on connecting my pos cable to the horn relay and neg cable to frame. I've already connected the starter, so I'll test that circuit also.If you have any other tips let me know. I'll do the test tomorrow and let you how it goes.
  6. Just got the dash and steering column back in the vista last weekend, all wires connected from the firewall back. Is there a way to test lights, switches etc. without the engine and other front end parts assembled to the car? I though about connecting the one harness for the engine . Would the starter need to be connected to the harness and grounded to the frame. If anyone has a better plan let me know, I just want to check my progress so I can correct any problems before I go any further. Thanks Tony
  7. I called them over a week ago and he said their shipment was due the next day and that he would call me back. Still no call, guess he forgot. I'll call back tomorrow.
  8. I'm looking for a dash speaker for a 67 cutlass and a rear speaker for a 71 442.Must be factory equipment and in good working condition. Thanks Tony
  9. I decided to start the rebuilding of the front end of my 67 vista yesterday. I noticed the drag link has some free play . Is there a rebuilding service for these? My local napa store says he can only get the one for manual steering and mine has power.
  10. I have seen '65 with body color and do recall at least one '66 with body color but did'nt check the build plant.
  11. Does anyone have a Hollander book to check if there are any gas tanks that interchange with a 67 vista cruiser. I've been told possibly an El Camino would but like to know for sure. Thanks Tony:confused:
  12. I drove the car on our dead end street last sunday. I had some brakes but not good enough to drive on the main roads. My son helped me bleed the brakes again and there was some air in the system. I guess you can expect this since the whole system was open for a few weeks. I'll keep working on it till I get it where it works right. Then on to the cooling system.
  13. Joe I talked to Bob Brannan over the phone today and he gave me some tips on bleeding the brakes. I now have fluid to all four wheels with good pedal pressure and no brake light glowing. I have not yet done a road test to see if they work correctly, this will be a few days yet. Thanks for the tips on checking the combo valve off the car, hopefully i wont need to replaced this one. Tony
  14. I've installed a used proportioning valve found thru another web site. The guy said it was good, however once installed I have no fluid going to the left front caliper. I removed the hard line and checked with compressed air. It checked out ok. Put it back on and hooked up my hand held vacuum pump to the end going to the calipers rubber line (new). No fluid coming out. Is there a way to check the combo valve before installing it, this is no quick job. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Tony:confused:
  15. Joe I found a spare combo valve I had sitting around for years and took the big end fitting off . The piston seems to be stuck so I soaked it in Evaporust. I tried using compressed air to force the piston out ,but no luck. I even took a brass drift and tapped the piston to try and move it but nothing happened. Am I going about this the right way or can you suggest a better approach. Thanks Tony
