  1. Thanks Jim , Sorry I missed it. But as I told your Pal Jeff , We only have one vacation this year and we're saving it for the Sept. Lincoln meet in Wi. so we can finally tour FLW's Taliesin . Should be quite a few V12's there.
  2. OKAY - LETS SEE SOME PICS - did a Capri Blue '40 Continental finally show it's face? and I see I have been demoted to a Junior member - that's ok , I had to repeat kindergarten too
  3. At last year's Gilmore meet , all cars that were at the meet had "professional" photos taken of them in front of the new museum. What ever happened to these photos? I myself was never contacted by anyone with an offer to purchase them , nor have I seen any of them.

  5. I DROVE my '41 Cabriolet with a freshly rebuilt V12 600 miles to the Museum opening last summer , only to arrive with the clatter of valves. Several people told me about MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil ) , 4oz. per 10 gallons of gas. I immediately bought some before the return trip . After driving LESS thank 10 miles back to the Hotel , the clatter was GONE. It has been greatly heralded on the Ford Barn for years ; I am now a true believer.
  6. It Looks GORGEOUS Lee - Hope you can drive it to the next Lincoln Museum meet . We'll help you wash it behind the hotel !! Mike & Jo Lynch
  7. It has appeared in this forum for sale several times over the past year(s) . SEE: http://forums.aaca.org/f198/super-nice-original-1937-lincoln-zephyr-363906.html Pretty sure it's the same vehicle you're thinking of Jeff.
  8. I've seen the car VERY nice . Not TOO TALL ?
  9. Colin I have one that I bought from George eight years ago ; my V12 is now rebuilt and I hope to never use it again. I am in Northern Wisconsin.
  10. MAY - JUNE Just received ; Mssr Bwatoe AND Jim Zephyr both mentioned in the article!! Lets see if the next issue shows their cars....... That would be the July-August issue coming in December.
  11. No wonder I couldn't find it ; the opening picture is rather deceiving Interesting that a LOT of 40-41 Lincolns for sale have the post-war steering wheels
  12. Bert Huffman passed away March 6, 2007 at the age of 83. TWOZ March-April 2007
  13. Why don't you log into the LZOC website and select "sources" There you will find all the parts dealers!!!
  14. PERFECT ! Just what I needed THANK YOU
  15. I need a correct generator for my Continental. Is there a model # ? What years other than 1941 are the same? Same as FORD? Any help appreciated.
  16. BEST LINCOLN DRIVING ADVENTURE I'VE EVER HAD I got to meet a lot of people I've only conversed with by phone or internet. The museum complex is like no other. Unfortunately on the return trip I missed the express ferry, so we turned it into a tour of the Michigan side of Lake Michigan. Beautiful weather and scenery - we went over the top to Wisconsin via the Mackinac Bridge. 363 miles to the meet and 640 miles back home. Total hours driving : 20 Total oil consumption -0- I learned a few things (with lots of help from the "gang" that was present): 1) the generator on my '41 is INDUSTRIAL ; way too large (thanks Earle Brown) 2) my fan belt was too tight (thank you Bruce Sutherland) 3) My carburetor settings were way off (Thanks Mssr. Bwatoe) 4) Yes, a woman can drive a V12 5) You can go 4 days straight without putting your top up 6) 12-13 MPG is about all you can expect WE HAD A BLAST !!!
  17. The vibration damper on my original engine had large "chunks" carved out of it that I found when I had to replace the block . NOT wear , but you could see where someone had used a chisel to it. When I replaced the block and rebuilt it I used a N.O.S dampener.
  18. Thanks - I am planning to pull all four wheels after the 4th of July . The wheel bearings haven't been looked at since the Columbia was reinstalled in 2006 . I also noticed that the bearings have "red" grease in them , NOT the recommended Sta-Lube grease for drum brakes. (just going by the Ford Barn forum). As to the speedometer problem , I removed both cables , the "turtle" on the driveshaft, and the S-W ratio adapter. The are all on my bench. I repacked the adapter, hooked all cable up and ALL parts are working to the speedometer head.. I have not yet removed the front seat cushion and climbed under the dash.
  19. At first I thought it was cable problems; it worked for about 37 miles with the new engine in the car, then speedometer never moved from 0 . I check both cables ; all okay. The problem must be in the speedometer itself. As far as the brakes , the front passenger cylinder had leaked a LOT of brake fluid . I rebuilt that and cleaned the shoes up. Now the brakes work much better , but the pedal "pounds" back at a complete stop. I'm thinking that the brake linings might have to be replaced as they were soaked with fluid.
