  2. Darn hail last month here in Missouri took out my tail lights on my 62 Shata Vintage tin can ham trailer. Finding replacemnt plastic lens' are really hard and cost and arm and a leg. Hail killed a dog up the road a ways. I went out to get my video camera, got wacked REAL hard on the shoulder with quarter sized hail... and headed back indoors all too quickly...!
  3. Hi, Was at my first Mopar show last year selling all my mopar parts that wouldn't sell at the other shows... did very well... lots of buyers. Someone at the show said it's the biggest mopar show in the US.
  4. Try out this link.... http://www.uship.com Very neat way they let you search for, and or promote your loads.
  5. Howdy, Going thru my stash of filters and came across some all metal filters with two inlets for oil flow. AC P-21 notes these fit mostly old Mopars. The AC filters have little stickers on them where you write in milage to let you know when it's time to change them again. AC-21 (nice shape) AC-21 (nice shape) AC-21 (small ding on top edge) AC-21 (very old box, nice shape) FRAM PB1/2-P2 (in nice shape) FRAM PB1/2-P2 (in nice shape) Please send me a email for photos, and a offer if you need one, two or all six of them.
  6. >>I WISH there was a decent alternative<< I've been wishing that for years... for parts I still load up the truck and take them to the car shows... see lots of friends, make new ones too, buy more junk. Did you check my "turbo links' page that simplifies the "car search/selling" where I've listed the best dozen car classified sites on the web? http://www.wowabunga.com/turbo I've been selling on the web since 1998 and there is a lot of "junk web sites" out there....
  7. Wish to restore my truck for next year... need any old Ford Truck dealers (or Sterling Ford) dealers who may have a pile of dusty parts in the attic. Parts for this truck interchange a lot as body style didn't change from 1957 up thru 1988ish.
  8. It's like any auction, some are better than others. Last year I got 3 mannequins for pocket change... filled the car last year to the roof with parts... plaster legs and arms hanging out the windows. This year had the same quantity, didn't see as much "treasure" this year... spent 1/2 of what I did last year. Someone got a nice yellow traffic light with neat metal pole/stand, nos bumper guards here and there. (I got 2 huge boxes of cartridge oil filters... $1 each at my yet to be announced, transplanted blue field space... look for the mannequins LOL dressed in vintage beach attire) Some nos headers, mufflers, lots of car magazines. A very nice "bound" set of AACA magazines that will look great in someones library. A set or two of those huge tire coasters that allow you to push your car around in the garage... they weren't cheep. I'm content with my current restoration project so I didn't pay no attention to the cars for sale. Currently need a powersteering pump for a 1966 Ford C700 Truck... can I find someone to rebuild a vintage 60's pump, or should I just use a newer model for the 391ci gas engine ?????? Oh.... a happy story.... a friend is loading a somewhat dinged front bumper for a 50's chevy into the back trunk of his sedan, bumper sticking way out and needed the trunk hood to be tied down, with 2 feet of bumper still hanging out. I laughed and said to my friend two words "station wagon". He laughs back, tells me the chrome bumperets on his new bumper are worth about $600 as they didn't make many of them...!!!!! Live and learn.
  9. >>It's the answer to a question that probably wasn't asked.<< Seems like if I wanted a small piece of candy I could just buy a pack of sweet tarts.... or in contrast I could buy a PEZ Despensor, complete with bunny head and really have a swell time handing out little sugar treets to friends. I like fun stuff... best wishes. As to where to get this listed.... humm not sure.... try www.about.com maybe.
  10. Arrived late..... got there with the sun up at 6:05am and was kicking myself for stopping for pancakes a few minutes earlier....! $5.00 Vintage 1960's red police car light, works (this was a steal) $15.00 Two nice blue water tanks for a cistern or well $1.00 Pair of gloves (a bit chilly, got colder as morning went on) $5.00 Vintage porcelain wall mounted mini water fountain (old gas station restoration project) Met a vendor who was at the Hershey auction the day before, he had a ton of stuff laid out and selling for good prices. A small one day show that is always an adventure, can't always get there as it's a good ways to travel.
  11. Oh... And one more thing... I've taken me a broom to this here internet, it's overly cluttered, and well, by golly I've done some sweeping and cleaned it up a little bit... http://www.wowabunga.com/turbo Above link you'll find a reference page full of the best of the best places to buy and sell classic cars. My pap inspired this effort, as he would get on the internet looking for a T-Bird and after 10 minutes of clicking he doesn't know where he started and has no clue where he's ended up at, and finally shuts down the computer in disgust. If you have a favorite auto website please let me know and I'll add it to the list. One of my favorite sites is called "prewar cars" and it's loaded with old cars that I've never heard of, from dates way back in the early 1900's. Wanted still: 1956 Restored Thunderbird
  12. >>there are no junkyards anymore.and the ones i have been to have no 70s parts much less 50s stuff.<< A aquaintence has a small private yard near by.... 100 plus old cars 30's thru 50's and I'll be putting a list of what's for sale soon. At Hershey I'll have photos.... and.... the yard is about an hour from Hershey so it will be a fun little jaunt if the owner has something you like. A aquaintence of mine up in the sticks has a private yard and he's willing to wheel and deal.... early 40's Caddy with factory AC, 2 Cougars, other cars from the 50's with good parts a plenty. A 56 Plymouth still has radio knobs on radio, etc. Cars are still out in the sticks and boonies, the yards that are commercial have mostly given in to the temptation of high scrap steel prices and have crushed much of what they had. All this just makes my 1965 Rambler Wagon worth more every day. Paid $100 for it, sank $1400 in it and it's now worth $800 yippppppeeeeeeee.
  13. Truck is rated at 26,000 lbs. I had a 3 ton 4 door Rambler on it this past summer, couldn't even tell I had anything on the back, drove real nice with the "small load". With no cars it's at about 14,000 lbs so I have plenty of room to carry STUFF...! Thanks for look'n.
  14. Hey.... I'm driving thru the boonies and spot a few old cars, stop in and get to talking... besides the early 1951 chevys.... there's this 1972 Buick GS 455 sitting in the field (and it's not been waxed lately ok) and has complete interior, decent body.... hard to imagine no ones scarfed that thing up yet. I'll be getting a price on it very soon. He has a 52 Ford with continental kit on back ... rusting away.
  15. Hi, Anyone have any info on the letter that was included in my vendor registration packge talking about some big changes for the blue and white fields. I'm in the smaller triangular blue field and wondered if this area is being changed. I like how the form asks if there are others in my row that I'd like to be moved with as a group. YOU BET.... these guys who are my neighbors are like family... gosh some are better than some of my real blood family LOL...!
  16. Hi... I used to spend a lot of time selling cars on the internet for my pals.... here's a organized list of the best sites to buy and sell... http://www.wowabunga.com/turbo Some sites are free to post cars, some cost money, either way the sites on the this list I've compiled have some good traffic.
  17. As a collector.... a collector of quotes that is.... I recall someone saying once.... "SO GOES THE AUTO INDUSTRY, SO GOES THE COUNTRY". Chrysler now German Owned Mack Trucks now owned by Volvo GM spinning towards Bankruptcy (so said a radio talk show host this week) Ford is teetering on the brink of extinction (as said in this article by DeLorenzo) Who's next ???? Who's left looks like the question. Myself I'm not too worried as I left the comfy corporate world of advertising a few years ago and took up residence in the recession proof world of auto salvage. Enjoyed the articles thanks.
  18. Anyone game for a Spartan ? I saw one in a field last week out ramble'n around. This one is more rectangular... maybe 1960's vintage. Hollar back, I'll run up there and find out if it's for sale. As to the ToyBox trailer project.... Wow. I'm just thinking that adding axels to a wingless C-130 Air Transport would have been much less labor intensive LOL.
  19. We have a used working unit from a big new car dealership ready to be trucked to your garage. This catwalk will make all your jobs easier to do... faster and safer too. This is one of them money make'n tools a serious garage needs...! http://www.inap.biz/sheds/bugs/clm_rotarylift.jpg Some one needs to buy this because... my buddy recently bought it for his garage from a dealership across the street, that used it for oil changes, but it's way too big to comfortably fit into his normal sized garage. If no one takes this he's says he's gonna take a torch to it and cut off them cat walks.... ouch.... don't let this happen. AGE: We can only guess it's somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe 6 years old..... ? CONDITION: It was bought right after it was taken apart from the big car dealer across the street... in working condition. Cables look great. There are areas / spots here and there where the paint has come off... a good cleaning and fresh paint all over would really make this sharp looking. Posts are solid... no bends or dents seen, same with ramps and catwalk... solid. Also note.... on the ends of the swinging ramps... there are yellow rubber guards (probably to keep noise down when it's lowered) and several will need replaced due to wear. We've had this lift for maybe 2 months disasembled in the garage. UNIT CONSITS OF: All the railings are here, as well as the ladder and all ramps. This unit does not have the center oil pan... but it can be ordered and added on. Here's a page for Rotary..... http://www.rotarylift.com/Products/Product_Detail/Application.asp OWNER: Our owner is about 70 years young... still loves to tear cars apart for fun. He's not out to cheet anyone... planned on using this for himself... and yes... he does have a torch sitting a few feet from the lift and he says " I'll Do it Too...!!! " as he chuckles. Shipping: Lift is about 70 miles west of Baltimore and Washington DC. You will need a roll back or flat bed to transport this fyi.... I can find some one locally to haul if needed. Asking $3200 or best offer.
  20. Amazing pics... Amazing cars too. This concept is just what Detroit needs for the future, a small fuel efficient car that can deal with impending global warming. We'll call it the GlobaWam. A great promo for the car would be to give all in the US Congress a GlobaWam. I see it now as they tie up to the nearest lamp post at the Capitol Building, they could float over to the White House in them for lunch as the Chesapeake Bay slowly begins to swallow up DC.
  21. I went from driving a 3 cylinder Geo Metro, to driving a 8 ton chunk of road tractor... overnight. I requested that part of the deal in buy'n the big rig was on pick-up day the owner had to give me a 30 minute driving lesson. Thankfully the route to the trucks new home was all small and windy mountain road and it gave me a great chance to learn how to drive and handle it. At first I was white knuckeled driving it around. As time passed my comfort level improved... once my daily driver broke down and I used the big truck as a daily driver for a little over a week... at about 8mpg that was a rough week at the gas pump. Today... I LOVE climbing up into the rig, and knowing I have an air horn does change the way one drives....! From day one I've said a prayer for safety, and still do each time I grab onto that big vintage steering wheel.
  22. I bought this on a Saturday........ woke up Sunday morning and said what the heck did I just do...! This is a 1966 Ford C-750 cab over. This body style was in use from 1957 up thru 1987 and with 30 years of production the parts have been readily available. Kids see it and say "where'd you get that firetruck" as this body style was a favorite by fire departments for it's easy turning radious. I asked a RoadWay driver once if his truck was as hard to drive as mine concerning shifting the gears (because the cab tilts forward there are several universal joints used on the shifter linkage) and anyway he replies back that after 10 years of driving C700's he said he still has trouble finding the gears on the 10 speed rear. It's NASCAR history I'm still tracking down. Bought from the Hagerstown MD Speedway last year, they tell me they got it from 3x Daytona Winner Bobby Allison. I talked to Mr. Allison and he confirmed his team once owned the truck. Any info about the truck would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Currently on the beat path of tracking down a garage full of model A/T parts. If I can aquire them, this will make for a really good story as the original owner was a really neat guy who cared about cars. More info to come....... Can't divuldge too much as you can guess.
  24. Hi, I've got a whole complete linkage taken off of a 1959 Ford for sale. I've just removed it from the car so it's complete and in great shape. I figure that a lot of times these parts get neglected and I'm asking $50 for the whole setup. Willing to take offers. See link for photos. http://www.inap.biz/sheds/jh/parts Thanks for look'n, Ramble'n Randy
