  1. Yeah, Economy surface container, gotta pick it up at the port of entry though.
  2. The dumb irons are unmistakeably Stevens Duryea. Friend Johan, where was the sevice station located?
  3. that '34 Hudson was a dog, you could not help but see the orange peel on the closeup shots of the hood and side. Additionally the chrome had scuffmarks and barely noticeable pitting and some of the engine detailing looked hastily done, particularly the manifolds looked like they were shot with a flat black spray bomb.
  4. Your absolutely right Bob, a couple of my reference books show a '13 and a '10 with wires,in addition to the google image search you mentioned.
  5. Bob, I'd love to agree with ya, but the styling could be deceptive. Stevens Duryea was one of the most conservative carmakers, stylistically and mechanically, they were one of the last to use the progressive shift linkage until at least 1920 I think,it was already obsolete by 1908, the same holds true for right hand drive. Wouldn't the Budd wires indicate a later date unless they were added later?
  6. Jeez, I thought it was sideswiped by a Hummer.
  7. Oh, I didn't realize '59 was the first year of the 3.1 V6..............truly a landmark classic!!!
  8. After reading this I wept because I did not invent Lipitor...............................
  9. Pass the thorazine Bob..................and make mine a double! Now he's got a bronze Zenith carb and a matching pair of runningboard mounted spare tire holders for sale, this guy is sick!!!!!!!
  10. It's really comforting to know we can have confidence in one of the more important vendors for this hobby. The Coker tires on the Stellite pictured at left have been driven over 12,000 grueling miles, but then this car only weighs 1,500 lbs {without me of course}
  11. Jeez, that crazy ole' crabby went and done it again, Go to ebay search and enter the seller name [color:\\"green\\"]august-ham yes, that's [color:\\"brown\\"] august-ham and you'll see more ole' magnetos and other car related stuff for sale that only the seriously deranged mind of [color:\\"blue\\"]august-ham can find for you......................
  12. Hot valves seizing in the guides? this happened to a Nash I did once where the clearance was too small. I have heard of it happening due to too much carbon buildup on exhaust valve stems as well. Noticeable loss of power happen as well?
  13. So..... some weather we've been havin' eh?
  14. What types are you chiefly searching for? solid tired safeties? pennyfarthings, wood framed safeties, boneshakers? ETC? I may have knowledge of a few but they are not cheap.
  15. Ha, Ha! Al Capone's car? I don't think so....Scarface's car was a '33 Nash convertible sedan, at least that's what the owner told me and anyone else who would listen, conveniently forgetting the unalterable fact that big Al was sent to prison in late '31. This recently deceased car collector also had Amelia Earhart's '32 Reo Royale coupe, Veronica Lake's Graham Hollywood and FDR's '33 Nash convertible sedan {formerly Al Capone's}.
  16. I knew it was left that way for a reason! Glad to hear it.
  17. Yes, the 1915 Stellite, You saw it in the 3 car garage next to the Interstate.
  18. Ken, regarding your water pump. I have rolls of graphited waterpump packing from the '20's in various thicknesses with 3/16 being the most versatile size. Be glad to send you 8" or so. One installs it by spiraling it around the shaft in the direction it rotates ,then it is compressed, most often there is a brass compression ring {occasionally flanged}behind the nut to aid this. I have seen a few pumps where this compression ring is very small and was hidden behind packing improperly applied over it, so dig out the old stuff thoroughly.
  19. Do you mean the nuts and wedges that mount on the outside of the felloe and retain the split rim? or are you referring to those large cast brass thumbscrews that one sees on the inside of the felloe between the spokes of very early cars?
  20. Subaru 360. I think they were made from '58 to at least the late '60's, though I'm no encyclopedia.
  21. What're ya trying to do here! stir up trouble among all us gentlemen?

  23. Pray tell what AACA class will be created for SUV's???
  24. I have responded in a similar fashion when singled out as a mark by our dusky brethren, although I quite justifiably request more funds than you up front! I did not however supply them with a bank #or address, rather I request a series of international postal money orders in US funds sent to my P.O. box. More direct, leaves little room for error,Ha,ha.............. Do you know I have never heard back from them!!! I would formerly receive about 2 of these transparently Ponziesque emails per month,or as many times as the hapless regime of the equatorial nation harboring these offending neopaths was overthrown by a coup d'etat I suppose.
