Now the hosts are John Chatterton and Richie Kohler. Michael Norwood, the shorter English guy died on a dive the program was doing at @ 250 feet - drowned. In fact now when they replay those first shows the end has a dedicated to slide. The DD tanks were on this program which you can buy the tape for http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=44054 and on discovery marvelous marvels of Normandy or some such title where they talked about the DD Tanks and the Higgins boats and floating harbors etc. This is a very good site explaining the tanks and giving particulars of the 741st and 743rd tank battalions companys b and c for both. http://is1.websearch.com/_1_2KZ9TWG03C7K...%2Ftank-dd.html
  2. They are sought after and pull a hefty price and have collectors BUT, ever think of being in a front collision with a BMW Izetta? How about in a ditch with water in it? No Fiats on your list?? Oh you meant real cars!
  3. How's he do that? Black magic?

Anyone know what gives? </div></div> nearchoclatetown, look in the mirror, would you trust you any closer than 50 feet?

  9. I did not suggest stroking the V-12 although I think you might as well if you are going to try and access more torque. It was V12Lincolns' post about stroking, I was only quoting Him.
  10. And I don't get a thank you for starting the ever ready to be started restore vs hotrod contoversy? sad sad Claire

The three 97's would make for a better look than a 4 barrell in my opinion. Fuel delivery would have to be enhanced via an elctric pump I would think.
  12. Claire look to where your plastic is and the open valley area between the cylinder heads (where the spark plugs are) see attachment (it's a 31 I think)
  13. Claire, if it's hard to see under there, light a match! Just kidding, love ya, mean it! Dave
  14. Crager S/S's are unilug 5 hole wheels for 4 1/2, 4 3/4, 5 " pattern.

  16. at the local hardware or auto parts store, start checking out the epoxeys. Read the uses and directions and I am sure there will be some just for your use. You will of course probably have to drain, apply, dry and re-fill.
  17. You also might make a concentrated effort in finding out where the leak is and fix it, then you won't have the problem.
  18. We should have a frequently asked questions section at the top of this forum and this would rank right up there with the frequenestingeth.
  19. Bennett was formed in 1919, they were not in the pump business. In 1929 Service Station Equipment, Ltd. of Toronto purchased, Bennett, Shotwell and ECO (original name was Western Mfg.). In 1950 the SSE was dropped and they became a division of the John Wood Co. In 1964 Anthes Imperial Ltd. purchased controling interest in the Wood Co. 1968, Anthes merged with Molson Breweries. 1979, Bennett was sold to SATAM of Paris, France. 1984 became part of Compagnie Generale des Eaux of Paris. In 1990, a small group of investors purchased the company and returned ownership to Muskegon, Mich. where it all began. They are still in business, although they no longer make the ECO Tireflator.
  20. It was pulled for power most likely. I would ask around for a reliable and older machinist who has worked on flatheads, straight 8's and packards etc. give to him, tell him to call when it's ready and write the check.
  21. What a great site thank you.
  22. http://www.bruceduffie.com/columbiacar.html you might look at 1904 if your Grandfather was Bert Holcomb or Lawrence Duffie. After a rival set of drivers from another firm make a new time of 72 hours 46 minutes, the Columbia Car, driven by Bert Holcomb and Lawrence Duffie, re-takes the Chicago-to-New York record a month later, lowering the time to 58 hours 45 minutes. Bert Holcomb and Lawrence Duffie establish the record of 76 hours between Chicago and New York in a Columbia Car. (1903)
  23. Nobody said you were crazy Cecil, just relax and stay calm now. Everything is ALL right just sit down and have yourself a sip of water.
  24. Most OE's gave up on that tube enclosure after just a couple of years. For one thing, depending on how the tank and unit are situated, the whole fuel tank has to be lossened, probably drained and tank turned to allow room to R&R the long tube. This just to replace a sender that you can see the top of standing beside the vehicle. I agree with you too, I don't think they are all that accurate either. Dave
  25. V12lincoln, sounds like a teriffic day. I am sure all that got a ride will remember it for a long long time. You forgot to mention one thing though. What was your 1/4 mile time and speed?
