  1. Not really, since the snow is coming later in the day.........Yes snow on Easter. Now I know Chicago has bad weather for Easter because when I was a kid during the last century, there was an ice storm and we had to walk to church because dad could not get the car out from the curb. I usually tell that story in my old geezer voice so you will have to add that part yourself. Think grandpa Walton
  2. You have to send them to A1 Cardone through an authorized dealer. They will check if they are rebuildable and notify you of the price. That's it! I'm waiting on a set right now. Only the early TC and 88 Daytona used that particular item.
  3. Problem fixed in24 hours. Only thing left is hep. stops after warm up. No codes now.
  4. http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f4/f14/1240826-89-maserati-drivability-issue.html I don't think you have to be a member to read it.
  5. Just a few thoughts from a grumpy old man. The 82-? Mopar had problems with carburetors. I had one catch fire while my wife was going down the interstate. Firemen are heroes. One followed my wife and told her about the flames under the car. He extinguished the fire with the ....full size fire extinguisher he had in his car. The other was early 80's with the Mitsu carb. I spent $650 for a new carb to meet emissions. "Mitsubishi...The Japanese company that helped us win the war." The carb failed the next year. Someone in Canada told me how to solve the problem by removing a welch? plug and reaming out the air passage. It was a time when auto makers were desperate to meet emission regs. Those were the darkest years for Mopar. If you go back to that vintage, look for a turbo wagon starting in 86?. Now about Chicago cars. They RUST! I don't care what make it is. Unless they a device to wash the under body EVERY TIME they drove it in the winter, it WILL be toast. Arizona cars won't have rust, but the paint will be disappearing along with the wood grain totally faded. I forgot about the wagons larger that the K car chassis. My wife's cousin has one going to the dump. Not a wagon tho. 4650
  6. I had a customer that put his all chrome Harley in a glass coffee table. Steamfitters boss.
  7. Check with Hemi about where he took them?
  8. I'm curious about what kind of car that engine is going in???? If I may be so bold!
  9. I'm guessing someone that recently graduated and works for a dealer told you this? Post up where you live and someone can give you the name of a mechanic that knows these cars. If you go to turbododge.com there is a mechanic on there that will send you the info to check the voltage on the temp gauge. He will actually post the page with the directions. He goes by NAJ. Good guy. When you figure out what was wrong, take the page to the mechanic you used.
  10. Brakes (pump) are shot. Will need new rear brake lines and rotors if you want to convert like Hemi did? heck I did that on my other one so it can't be that hard! Minor hail damage. Rust on rockers! The car is complete with good engine and tranny. Has good oil pressure. I can't wrench anymore so I'm not going to part it out. If some wants to buy it for the seats and sell off the engine and transmission to help pay for the purchase? If someone is seriously interested, I will post pics. I'm am just bummed right now with getting to old to work on these cars. Oh yeah! St. Louis Mo.
  11. The problem on flex lines is they go bad from the inside. Budtee sounds like you have my luck. I had the turbo coolant hose blow with 6,000 miles on an 87 GTS Chrysler. Special hose! Right! I bought some hose and double clamped both ends for the replacement.
  12. Don't forget the flex lines in rear. I had the rear tires get cooked well done because the flex lines were clogging.
  13. I tried to buy an identical one with the brake conversion in Florissant Mo. a few years ago and the guy wouldn't set a price. May be the same one. I wound up buying one at Scott AFB for...ARE YOU READY?... for $3,000 two years ago. He actually dropped the agreed on price when I went to pay him. I found out the 30 year old low mileage cars have everything break that should have broken over the past 30 years after I bought it. It will be fun to drive when you get it fixed.
  14. Did you buy that from someone in Florissant Mo.?
  15. If you recall, (heehee) I was there last summer. I might come back in the winter sometime. I have a neighbor that only pulls the cord when one of his biplanes loses power. That's if he has enough altitude. He is about your age.....
  16. i learned something new from Hemi.....or did I just forget?
  17. Well, we told you all the ways that are wrong!!!!! Does the hood stay up when you open it? I owed some money to a bookie. They broke my knees. I went to the doc and told him my knees were killing me. He gave me some medicine for arthritis. What he should have given me was some money! I have worked on pianos for 40 years. I actually get excited when I find a new problem! Well, sometimes I get REALLY frustrated too. Last month a five minute problem turned into 2 1/2 hour job. PS We buried my wife's 47 year old nephew last month. Brilliant guy that was an adviser the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He didn't take his meds for high blood pressure. He didn't have life insurance either! He dad is being buried on Monday! Tell all the young people you know that they WILL die if they don't follow the doc's advice. Patients make as many mistakes as doctors. Now anybody want to help me with the bookie problem? Just trying to add a little humor at a sad time.
  18. OR check the vac line from the fuel pressure regulator for gas vapor. When the fpr fails it will cause the same codes. I bought a 51,000 mile TC for $3,000 because the pos mechanic fixed the wrong thing. The seller would not accept more money because he was fed up and had to move overseas and either pay storage for 4 years or sell it.
  19. Have you replaced the brake flex lines yet? After I got an 8 valve with 50,0000 miles, the rear tires blew one at a time in one week. The flex lines had swelled inside and the rear brakes were not releasing! This was in city driving at not more than 40 mph.
  20. I think the center bushing is still available at Chrysler.
  21. I got it off.....I wound up using the vice grips as tight as possible and a ball peen hammer on them after failing the other way. Now for a test drive..... the lights come on with 8 super FAST pumps on the pedal but not with with half second pumps at all. This is a yellow tag used accumulator that was inspected and certified good. If you don't hear from me again,....l must have messed up.....again.... ....... It got up to a balmy 40° today,.
  22. I have a titanium impact. Took me a week to find it when I tossed it in the wrong place! I tried working another useless one off the spacer with no results using a 5' breaker bar in vise. I have the 8 mm allen doohickey for the ball and the proper wrench size but....? WHAT SAY YOU GREAT GURUS OF TCS? Don't tell me to wait till spring! This is the wife's winter TC.
  23. That was part of it. Still checking. It stayed charged for 3 days.
