I am mainly a Pontiac guy but like them all and am starting to get interested in the early/mid 60s Mopar max wedge cars, hence my question. The Pontiac club - POCI - has a great monthly magazine and a National meet that rotates to a different city every year. Is there a Plymouth/Dodge/Mopar club like this? More than one? Again my interest is the mid 60s B body cars. I'm on the B Bodies and Moparts websites so not talking about forums but a club with a good magazine. Thanks, John

I've been buying carburetor cores and other car parts now for twenty five years now and shipping restored carburetors and dual quad setups, and other parts, for the same amount of time and have never had anything go missing via USPS, FedEx, DHL, or UPS. In a very few cases I've had shipments bounce around but finally get there and a couple of times go missing for perhaps two weeks but finally resurface and get there, but never lost completely. These mishaps have been far and few between and were spaced over the entire twenty five year time frame, no worse now that at the start. My bad experiences have all been due to poor packaging where some bonehead threw something in the box loose and it therefore beat itself to death on the way here. Not the fault of the shipper.

I have Pete's book and two sets of the NASCAR cast iron SD exhaust manifolds, plus at this point each and every other component a real dual quad SD car would have had off the assembly line. What I said about it being a real task to do one reflects the trouble I had to go through to collect all of this stuff. It takes years and at this point some of it is probably unobtainable.

I think Bob Smits comments above are spot on. As long as there is no misrepresentation involved who cares and what is the problem? I am and have been working on a '63 Catalina 421SD fake/clone/tribute (whatever?) for twelve years now, and trading/buying/selling "correct" parts for it for twenty. It is a real task to research and then do one of these things right. When the real ones were made I was a senior in high school and no way could I have had one. To see disparaging remarks about them irritates me and seem to me to come mainly from affluent people who want to look down on those who do not have the resources they have and therefore have to resort to "fakes" in order to own something.

I will agree with junkyardjeff $9k for a '57 Ford 4 door sedan is top money so the car would have to be basically perfect. Start looking on ebay, craigslist, this site, Hemmings, cars online and more and see what you can get for $9k there are some really nice cars out there for that price.

Arrived today zip 77659. There was no postmark on it but the cover card inside the plastic sleeve said it was mailed on 5/7.

Still no magazine I guess I need to call and ask for another one. I don't care when it comes as long as it does. I enjoy them cover to cover. This much time is strange though. I belong to some book swap clubs and send and receive books via media mail, which is really cheap so I assume travel via the USPS cheapest means of transportation. I've shipped and received books to and from all fifty states probably, and nothing in my memory has taken as long as these AACA magazines seem to take?

You aren't the only one Bob. We've been going for eighteen years setting up a table with dual quad setups on it in the swap area. Space #2.

Decide what you want and go to Carfax, plug that model in, the max mileage you want to see, the max distance you are willing to drive to pick it up, and then click "go". I'm on my second certified used Duramax pickup, both with under 13k miles when I got them, and will never buy another way. I saved thousands on each truck.

I just received an issue of Antique Automobile in the mail but it is the March/April issue? Just now I looked at the online issues and the "current" one that can be viewed by members is the January/February issue. Obviously the online issue needs to be updated. When will the May/June issues be mailed. FYI I renewed my membership late this year so that may be why I received the March/April issue just this week?

I went the other direction and bought one of these ten or twelve years ago and no regrets. I think it was $1499 when I bought it but it is up to $2299 now. I store early 60s big Pontiacs on it and while I've changed out transmissions under it I also have a 2 post so it is 99% for storage. I just delete emails like that and hang up immediately on all of the extended warranty, credit card service, medical insurance, etc. etc. calls I get. Wife does the same.

You never did give us the dimensions? I have a FedEx account and put in 30lbs from Miami to Clackamas and it was $42.45 FedEx ground. I ship car stuff from SE Texas to all points and have never paid over $100 for anything. Two Pontiac heads are about $85 no matter where I send them.

Put "1966 Fairlane site:craigslist.org" (or "1967") in your search engine there are a number for sale online right now. Scroll down through probably ten pages of listings. I looked last night and there was one very nice red one but I don't recall where it was.

I think this is a '50s Pontiac exhaust elbow but it could be any GM model? If anyone knows I would appreciate their telling me. $25 + shipping.
