  1. Right behind me. In fact I sent him adoption papers and a Will for signatures last month but have yet to hear back.
  2. it's called balancing the budget. plus the BlueBird is a 26K miler and I was always afraid of breaking that little Specials 3 speed, so made sense...
  3. Bottom part is same but the change is in the window. Rear quarter is same. Swap out roof from rear of front door to bottom of trunk lid. Easy peasy. Tha's what they did at Ionia Body Works. They received complete Special/Century bodies and cut and grafted on the wagon parts. I've still got the 56 Century wagon with good doors including back door and back seat. Yep, if I were a young man.... Geeeze isn't that EZEye glass beautiful on BlueBird.... that's my old 3 speed Sugar Magnolia on the trailer...sold it to buy the BlueBird. The owner of Sugar just passed away and it is available for purchase. I'm even considering selling the BlueBird...Idonknow....
  4. I could graft that top onto my little Bluebird Special like they did at the factory....
  5. Maybe http://forums.aaca.org/topic/301526-1952-buick-super-running-gear-only/
  6. Sorry I've missed a few days dispensing meds, hope everyone survived... "SIR, Uhh SIR, What the **** are you doing at the rear of my car. And HEY YOU, the guy with the stick, I've got the key to open that hood. And NO, I did not order a touch up paint job. And Kilroy, what are you doing in my car? I could use some of this V for sure!!! Anybody thought about New Orleans for a Buick National. Sounds like a fun time to me!!!!
  7. Just to finally let you all know where the term that many of you have been called by Bob came from. Colonel Charles Codman was General George W Pattons senior aide or right hand man during World War II. Somewhere along the line, Bob learned that Pattons nickname for Colonel Codman was "Cod". Hence if you were ever referred to as "Cod" by Bob, it would have been in the highest regard, as Codman was highly respected by Patton. Now you know the rest of the story.
  8. Saturdays service was very nice. The American flag draped the coffin, he received the Twenty-one gun salute, taps was played in the distance and the flag was presented to his wife Linda. Combined with the fact it was Veterans day, a very honoring and solemn ceremony. I relayed all of y'all's condolences to Linda and let her know to please call if there is anything I or any of the club can do for her. I finally got to meet his lifelong friend JR, whom I had heard many stories from Bob about their many wild escapades while in the Army. He also accompanied Bob in the Great Race a couple times. That is him on the left. Dennis, the guy in the middle was also a longtime friend and use to accompany Bob to Hershey. And you all know the cod on the right. I was able to catch a few pictures from the large monitor that was streaming pictures, most I had never seen before. I recall seeing one picture of him in his house once, taken when he was young and exclaiming to Bob, "Damn Bob, I thought you've just always been old". and here's that devilish smile again V
  9. I think reassembly would be the challenge. How much easier can you get than wrapping it fully assembled in stretch wrap and putting it in a Lowes HD box with plenty of packing paper. Cut and fold in the excess height of the sides of the box. Shipped several in that manner. Personally I would be a bit upset if I received one disassembled. Just saying...
  10. Perhaps here, if you start a Want to Buy thread in either/both the Pre War or Buick Buy Sell forums.
  11. Sure you can't press that "dink" out in a drill press. may have another, will need to dig.
  12. So did the driver offer an explanation for the tire. Did he compensate you for it. I had a whitewall badly scratched by a hauler once and deducted the cost of a new tire from the payment. Problem was, never found an exact replacement. Uhhh, don't forget to put the cover back on the starter solenoid.? ? (Inside joke eh Mr McHinson? ) ?
  13. Ha, I just took these pictures and was going to post them in buy sell but if you determine these are correct you get first shot. These are same except one has a rubber/vinyl band around it. $25 each plus the ride
  14. RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) Friday HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARINES and don’t forget Veterans Day tomorrow
