  1. We were always pretty much a Ford family. The first truck I remember my Dad having was a red 48 F1. I learned to drive on his 65 when he wasn’t home. I think all three companies make good vehicle, I just like my Fords. I’ve owned a lot of them. Here is my current fleet, 1927, 2001, 2020.
  2. No remote filter mount right off the block. No old gasket sticking. I have checked for flatness, I even scuffed it up with a scotch bright pad. Just frustrating, at least 10 different makes from the early sixties till now and never a problem. I’m not counting the canister filters I’ve done.
  3. My wife has a Jeep Liberty with the 3.7 Liter V6. Not my favorite vehicle, but my wife loves it. I do pretty much all the maintenance on it. I typically change the oil, but three changes ago she had it changed while I was out of town. She takes it to a small garage who, like me, use Napa or Wix filters and synthetic oil. About 2500 miles I notice a drip of oil under it. Turns out the filter is loose. I tighten it and don’t give it anymore thought. Next oil change I use a Wix filter and same thing. I was convinced it was me . Now it just happened again. That’s 3 times in a row. Ive worked in garages when I was young, changed oil in all my cars for my 46 years of driving never had this problem. I do the 3/4 turn by hand after gasket touches. I have checked the oil pressure sending unit, it is leaking at the filter for sure. A quick check on line and it seems like this is not an unusual problem, not unique to Mopar but no solution. Maybe on an unrelated note I bought two Motorcraft filters recently that had both bad threads that would not screw on at all. Any ideas?
  4. Why replace good working tools? A cordless tool doesn’t make your work any better. If you are financially able to, and you really hate an air hose or cord then go for it. But if you do definitely buy quality, you get what you pay for. I use Bosch, for my hand tools.
  5. I don’t even look at cars that are not advertised with a firm price. Put a dollar value on it slightly higher than you think it’s worth worth and if the offer is close take it. If I go to buy a vehicle several hundred miles from me, truck and trailer, wad of cash at at asking price, I’m serious about buying. I’m not traveling to give a free appraisal.
  6. In our model Ts we had Fun Projects selling a good working voltage regulator. They sold the business to another company and they are no longer available. I had one and it worked well, didn’t boil my battery on long trips. Several members on the Model T forum have been working on a design, schematics are posted ver there. https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25609&hilit=Regulator
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. will be trying today.
  8. Helping a friend find the location of the serial number on a 1946 Ford Coupe. The frame has been painted we don’t want to grind off anymore to find it than we have to.
  9. I have a vacuum bleeder and had trouble with air leaking around the bleeder when using. Now I take a bleeder screw that fits what I am trying to bleed and cut the sealing part off it. Screw all the way in and hook up your vacuum line. Remove when down and replace with the original uncut bleeder screw.
  10. Sorry for the mistake in year of title. Fixed now. Thanks John !
  11. https://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/d/cumberland-imperial-crown-ghia/7555547937.html Rare crown jewel hidden for many yrs. 1 of 10 built and 1 of 2 true Italian-built 1965 Imperial Crown Ghia limousines known to exist. A true 1965 Italian-built Ghia will have a 413 engine and push-button transmission, which this one does. The mechanics were redone over the past several yrs. It runs and drives, but needs body, paint and interior work, which we cannot do due to disability. The previous owner said it belonged to Janet Dulles (wife of John Foster Dulles) who bought it new (or maybe the gov't did). She may have painted it silver, and she used it in her work at the Thailand Embassy in Washington, D.C. from 1965-1969. It is possible Presidents Johnson and Nixon, as well as Robert Kennedy and the Dulles friend, Dwight Eisenhower and who knows how many other dignitaries have ridden in this vehicle. It is also possibly the last true Italian-built Ghia limousine in the world. Will sacrifice this rare piece of history to a good home or museum for reduced price of $135,000.00/neg.May take in partial trade, a newer model 4dr 4x4 full size truck or another classic or antique vehicle.
  12. Ruckstell, two speEd rear. Allows you to split the stock Ford gears. You can have stock ratio, or shift to Ruckstell, Ruckstell is an underdrive. To shift like a 3 speed, take off in Ford low, let pedal off into high and at the same time shift into Ruckstell, wind it out and then shift out of Ruckstell. Best improvement for a T. Legend has it, was the only after market accessory Henry approved of
  13. I remember Rustoleum made a product called Never Wet. They claimed it could make cloth water proof. Seen it in the big box stores couple years ago. https://www.rustoleum.co.za/pages/help-and-support/faqs/neverwet-fabric-faqs/
  14. It was great hearing other languages this year.

    Golf carts

I thought the rules were electric carts only. We saw many, close to half, gas powered. Most drivers keep to the center of the lanes, what really burns me are the one who pull their cart right up to the tables
  16. Don’t know much about this charger. Appears to be all there. It does have charge and test settings. Never plugged it in. Plexiglass covers the gauges and controls in good condition. Would make a great piece for a retro garage. $200. Will not ship, pickup here in Cambridge Ohio. I can deliver to Hershey. Greg.kuhnash@gmail.com or contact me on this site.
  17. Whenever I am stopped waiting to turn left I always keep an eye on my rear view mirror. I think it’s a habit I picked up driving motorcycles. I have turn signals on my model T but they aren’t very big compared to modern vehicles.

  19. I’ve had Grundy for 26 years. Never had a claim. I did run into Jim Grundy in his booth at a meet. I jokingly said “I’ve been with you for 20 some years, without a claim. Shouldn’t I get something for that?” He handed me a can cozy.
  20. I wonder about those fancy LED running lights around the headlight, or those LED tail lights. Do you replace the whole housing?
  21. About 3 years ago. I gave a ride to Gene a WWII Navy vet at our VFW. Unfortunately Gene past last year he was 97. I knew him all my life. Miss having a shot of Bourbon Supreme with him.
  22. An electric would be a fine car for my wife. She drives 60 miles on her way to work. We usually take my crew cab truck if we travel by car very far. Be great to go to the store and general running around. In our part of Ohio they are closing coal fired power plants and are building a huge natural gas power plant 1.875 Gwatt, enough to power 1.5 million homes! All powered from natural gas extracted from below our homes and property, in the Marcellus shale formations. Cleaner burning natural gas, less wear and tear on the infrastructure and no problems from surface coal mining.
  23. Don’t know your location but a few really good swap meets are coming up that would most like have what you are looking for. Marietta, Ohio Luray, Virginia Chickashaw, Oklahoma
  24. Are the commissions paid on the charity cars?
