    Radio

I have had my 89 for almost 2 years and the radio seldom works at all. Usually when it does work any it will only get 1 FM station and zero AM stations. Friday I drove it to work, it sat out in the sun all day (as opposed to being garaged at home) and got really hot inside. I turned on the radio and it worked great. AM and FM both. All the speakers worked fine. Today in the garage, nothing. Have I got a bad connection somewhere? Dick
  2. Thanks for your answers. I really did not know. I have always waited until I had the "NO MALFUNCTIONS" Dick
  3. I have had my car (89) since June 2003 and so far I have very few problems and those have all been minor. At the risk of sounding dumb, I would like to know if it is necessary to wait until the computer tells me there are no malfunctions before I start driving?
  4. Hello Nic, I am in the South of Atlanta area, I am about 15 miles from Griffith and the Experment area. Dick Private mail to claclorep2@wmconnect.com
  5. My driver side window has started going down about 1/3 of the way and then stops with a sort of grinding sound. It will go back up. Does this sound like a bad motor of maybe a broken gear. I could probably make a new gear. RDStorer
  6. I am not kidding about the radio. I wonder if sitting out in the hot sun all day had anything to do with it? Dick
  7. I have had my 89 for a little more than a year and the radio has never been much good. I was getting no AM reception and the FM was only a little better. Last week I took it in for an oil change. Now the radio works great. Figure that one. Dick Repairer of old clocks
  8. If you are talking about a blower control module, I just replaced mine. I priced new ones at Advance Auto and was quoted $116.00. I got a used on from Jim Finn and now my A/C works fine. R. D. Storer
  9. Thanks to all for your wonderful knowledge of Reatta's. I got my A/C Blower Control from Jim Finn. Now I can be reeel coool. Dick
  10. I am having a very similar problem with my 89. I had to pull the plug on the blower motor to get it to quit. What is the part number of the blower module? Dick

    Buicks

I like my 89 Reatta so much that I am considering purchasing a Reviera of about the same year. I am also considering the purchase of a 2003 Rendezvous. I sure would like to hear some comments about the Rendezvious from our Buick Experts. rdstorer
  12. Dumb question of the year. HOW DO YOU USE THE SEARCH FUNTCION? I have not yet figured our the correct way. Dick
  13. I did take my car (89) to a local cruise in last weekend. It generated very little or no interest. Most of the participants had cars from the 50's and 60's, so maybe 1989 was a little to new for them. I did hear one lady coment to her companion, "Look, it has 2 glove boxes and they are both in the back. How could you open them? Dick
  14. I am thinking about putting my car in one of our local "cruise in's". My car isn't really a show car but where I live there very few Reatta's and most people have never seen one. I got my 89 last June and I have not seen another one since. If I put it in a show I would like to be able to make a placard with some of the car's information on it, such as, how many were made like mine, date of manufacture, etc. Where can I get information like that. Also, I see lots of tires that really have a shine. I am not satisfied with my tire spray. What do you all use? Thanks in advance. Dick [color:\\"black\\"]
  15. The only dis-appointment I have in my 89 is poor radio reception. I have no AM at all and only good FM for a short time after it is turned on. Is there any way I can determine if I have a bad radio or a bad antennae, before I get Jim to send me a replacement radio. Dick
  16. What do you mean? "You Southerners think about us tonight. I am in Hampton, GA and it will get down to 32 tonight. Dick
  17. I think it looks very bad. I sure don't want them on my car. Dick
  18. I want to commend you about your attitude in keeping the car "as is" and not doctoring it up. In years to come I think it will be far more valuable in its original configuration. I have had my first one just a few months and I am nearly 70. Good luck on finding your remote. rdstorer
  19. Every car I have owned in the past has had a place to hide a spare set of keys. I can not find a place on my 89. Are there any? Dick
  20. My 1989 looks great except for the wheels. I have read most of the posts about wheels but I still am not sure what mine should look like. Should they be shiny of have a matte finish, like they are now? Dick [color:"black"]
  21. Thanks to all who helped. Now I know that a Newton Meter is a torque measurement. But I still do not know what size the screw heads are. I tried a 5 mm, a 4 mm and a 6 mm. None will fit. Dick
  22. I do not mind if you think I am a little stupid. I finally got up the nerve to try cleaning my head light switch, in hopes of getting my interior lights working. Lo and behold I do not have sockets that will fit. I have metric and inch, but my HMI indicates the screws have 1.5 N M. (Newton Meter) What does that mean?
  23. Thanks to all of you about driving my car. I really do like driving it. I will quit the brake worry. I have had it 2 months. Dick
  24. I have had my car for about 2 months (1989, 92,000 miles)and I have been reading this forum for more than that and I must say you all have got me scared to drive. What is all this about brake failure? Dick
  25. I have read about it somewhere but I can not seem to find it. My 89 has tan upholstery that is quite faded. I am thinking about fabric dye, from a spray can. I sure would like to hear some comments. Dick
