  1. I would like to add outside rear view mirrors to my 1935 Buick 4 door that clamp on the door edge. The problem is the lack of a gap between the door frame and the body. Most if not all mirrors that I have found have two small threaded screws without heads that hold the mirror on from the inside so the fasteners don't show. Even a short 1/4"-3/6" screw seems to be too long to fit between the door frame and door edge. Are there other designs that clamp the mirror on the door using a different method of holding the mirror in place? I prefer not drilling holes in my my body or door to attach an outside rear view mirror.

    Thanks!

  2. I am looking to buy Christmas cards to send out to my collector car friends this year that have an old car Christmas theme such as artwork with a classic car, or a collector car or cars in the card's design. If anyone knows of anyone or any websites selling Christmas cards with an automotive theme, please list them here on the forum or send me an email at pint4@new.rr.com.

    Thanks!!

  3. You are correct. I misread it. I would think the brackets might be more difficult to find than the rack since the racks are interchangeable. Since I have a convertible coupe, I am hopeful that brackets from a coupe will also fit. I would imagine it is extremely hard to locate the stainless steel strips and the Packard emblem on the rack. Does anyone reproduce the strips? Thanks.

  4. It's for a convertible coupe. I didn't know there was a difference in the trunk racks based on body style. Wow-good thing I asked about the differences if any. Now I am not only concerned about the difference betwen years but now I will have to make sure body styles are looked into also. I appreciate the info.

  5. I was thinking this is probably a difficult question to answer. Would require a true 30's Packard 120 expert. So......would any one have literature with pictures showing all three years or pictures from car shows showing all three years. Does anyone have an interchange book by chance? I think 35 and 36 might be the same but not sure about 37. Thanks.

  6. I have a 1933 Buick series 60. I added an electric fuel pump. When I drive the car at night, the generator does't keep up. I am told there is a way to get more power out of the generator by adjusting the cut-out switch or something inside the generator. does anyone know how to do this and do you have pictures to help a novice like me? Also looking for a couple of good sources for an exhaust system. Has to be cheaper than the guys in New Jersey as my budget can't handle those kinds of prices. I am your average everyday collector, nothing fancy-hust want to drive and enjoy my Buick.

    Thanks!

  7. Thanks for the info regarding the Serial Number location. I checked and did not find anything in the location where I was told to look. I did not find a plate, I did not find anything stamped into the frame either. I even checked both sides and did not find anything. I crawled down under and did not see anything. Was there an alternate location? Maybe it is missing, then what??

    Thanks!

  8. Where does one find the Model Number, Body Style, and Serial Number on a 33 Pierce Arrow? Many makes of cars put the information on the firewall? Any suggestions? Also wondering what engines are interchangeable with a 33 Pierce 8 cylinder? Other years? Can you drop a 12 Piece in to replace a 8 or are there serious modifications.

    Thanks

  9. I still have not located an original fuel pump for my 1933 Buick Series 60 so I am going back to using an electric fuel pump. Can someone recommend a couple of good 6 volt electric fuel pumps that don't draw a lot of voltage and work in the lower pressure range that might be best for this car?

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the great advice and tips to minimize the shipping costs for the wheels. Now I just need to do my homework and visit some of the sites mentioned and obtain some quotes. I appreciate the help. As always, lots of helpful persons, knowledge and experience on the forum.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  11. I am looking at a set of 6 steel wheels that are located in Colorado. The issue is the freight cost to ship the wheels from Colorado to Wisconsin. Does anyone have any insight as to least expensive way to ship wheels around the country?

    Thanks,

    Bob
