  1. Need some help with generator problem. 1929 Buick will not charge when started. Drive about 10 miles and the amp gage slowly moves to +, 1 to 2 amps. At forty miles/hour it will show 10 amps. Back off the gas and it goes to 15 amps. Push the gas peddle down and the gharging rate drops the faster I go. Hit the brakes or turn on the lites and amp meter goes to 0 and it starts all over again. Any one out there Know about these charging systems? Terry29-26
  2. Biian: I just checked my address as it was posted, I left out the "r" in pattery. Have it corrected. Try it now. Terry29-26

  7. Bill; Buick as built their cars around the heaters every since they started to put them in. My 59 Invicta is just as hard to replace. Still haven't finished putting the car back together because I need to find some more info. for the air cond.. To replace the hoses for the controls is a nightmare. Hard to find the right rubber hoses. Hope you had better luck than I'm haveing. Terry 29-26
  8. Howard: A few years back I bought a 1916 D 35 Buick. It ran but didn't sound right. Took it home and played with it for several weeks before I called the guy that owned it before the person that I bought it from. This is his story. " I was on a trip about 35 miles from home when a rod started hammering. It was late at night and no shops were open. By the side of the road in the middle of the night I got under the car and removed the the # 4 piston and rod out so that I could drive it home. This was back during the war (WW II for you young guys) and parts and money were hard to come by so I neve did get a new one. Drove it that way up to the day I sold it." I found another 4 cyl. engine and replaced the missing one and the car is still runing. Most of the time it just sits in my barn. In the old days people did what they had to do and did not worry about a little shake rattle and roll.
  9. Please send photos and asking price. Terry at pattery@elroynet.com
  10. Hi Bill: Part of the fun in attending a National Meet is the planing and preparing for a trip. I know that a lot of members don't drive their cars but I do. If the club desides to make a perment home for the national then I for one will not be going to very many more. I have driven my 29 to Ill.,Texas,Boston, and Ohio. I plan to drive to Flint this year and look forward to going to Texas 1n 04 (Iwould like to see a meet on the west coast soon so I could have driven my 29 from coast to coast and Canada to Texas). The one thing that will happen if the BCA holds the meet in the same place every year will be the absence of the old cars. Every show that I have attended has at least one local car that would not have been there if it would have had to be hauled or driven any distance. Most owners of the older cars will not take their cars very far from home. The Archival Award was established to get the older unrestored cars out where club members could see them. If the BCA turns the regional meets into a 400 point judged event then there would not be any reason to take a car across the country to have it judged at the national. Terry29-26
