Problem is - I have no idea as to the value of the car. The car is in 'perfect' condition completely restored . . right down to the original owners manual. It's the only CB I know if in the country so, nothing to compare it to. Thanks for any recomendations - Don / Orlando

  5. Have a matching pair of Bleriot headlamps on my 1912 Clement Bayard. About 10" glass lens very, VERY thick. Looking for small cowl lamps and also a tail lamp that would 'go' with the car. Thank for your help. Don
  6. Steve; It's a great and very interesting automobile . . Like some of the very old Renaults . .the Radiator is BEHIND the motor. The only 'grill' is on the sides of the hood. The hood is really aerodynamically curved to increase the speed of the wind as you're moving forward . . . I guess the trick is . . .KEEP moving forward. I'm really a 'Model T guy' - so, it is very interesting to see all of the European ideas that Henry put into the 'T'. The Clement Bayard was a very rugged vehicle for its day. three speeds forward one reverse with a conventional 'clutch'. 'Bosch' Magneto (correct for the car and imprinted with Clement Bayard) - car is very, very correct - all numbers matching throughout - Adolph Clement (Bayard) invented the Blimp / Derigible in early 20th century after the automobile. The Headlamps are Bleriot - Great Brass lamps and VERY thick convex lenses. Bleriot made his money in the lamp business but, is best known as the first person to fly across the English Channel in July 1909 - The 'story' goes: He got to the coast of France . . asked "Which way to England"? and off he went! He climbed into the plane with crutches because of an earlier crash . . . oh . .and 'crashed' into England . . . but all that counted is . . he WAS first!!
  7. Finding a price is going to be my biggest quandry . . I bought the Clement Bayard as a 'package deal' with a Model T Panel Truck . . sold the truck - still have the Clement Bayard but could really use the room . . . . right now have three old cars, a stray cat and who knows what else in there!! I think I'll give both Prewar and RM a call and see what I can figure out - Thanks / Don I'd post a picture but, don't know how to do that . . .on this forum .
  8. Merry Christmas to all! I was 'googling' for some auto appraisers / auctions and found RM Auctions listed - They seemed to focus on the 'older' autos (compared to Barrett/Jackson). Has anyone attended any of the RM Auctions or have dealt with them over the past? I have a 1912 Clement Bayard Torpedo, and have no idea as to it's value - I am considering selling it and would like to have it appraised first. RM Auctions are a Canadian company but, have showrooms in Ft. Lauderdale and Michigan. I do believe they also have collectable cars on consignment. Any help or other suggestions would be appreciated. Best regards / Don Larson / Orlando
  9. Looking for anyone who has or knows of anyone with a Clement Bayard. I have a 1912 'Torpedo' looking to compare notes with other owners. Lamp has Bleriot Headlamps - thick convex lenses. Also looking for some cowl lamps to match - Thanks / Don - Orlando / U.S.A.
  10. Just received my magazine - there's an order form in it for this years Christmas Cards - the selection on the left depicts a great looking Mode T Torpedo - probably and '11. THe question is - the 'order form' is for what I recall was the selection for 2004: "The Perfect Tree" and "Express Delivery"! Neither of the card styles shown for this year is listed?? How can we order them? Didn't see any mention on the AACA 'Home Page' -

  17. Finally! Last week we were able to get the Clement Bayard - MOBILE! 150 years after Adolphe Clements Birthday! Had a great SHORT ride - first had problems getting a good gas flow - THEN after 'fixing' that - noticed a fuel line leak! The fuel line runs right above the exhaust - so figured it best to shorten the ride. Still looking for ANY information on the Clement Bayard or, anyone that either has one or, knows someone that has one. Thanks / Don Larson / Orlando / USA
  18. Still looking for ANY information or, any other owners of a Clement-Bayard. Today is Adolphe Clement-Bayard's 149th Birthday! I'm going to celebrate by driving my 1912, 4M-2 Torpedo 'Mr. Magoo' around the Block!
  19. Have a friend that has a beautiful Leather-Bound book depicting many views of a 'Pan American' automobile - does anyone have any information on the Pan American? Also I'm STILL looking for any information on the Clement Bayard - I have a 1912 'Torpedo' and can use any info, pictures, or - other owners in the U.S. Thanks!
  20. Dan is in charge of the January 'Ormond Beach' Birthplace of Speed race next year - does someone have his e-mial address? Thanks / don
  21. Although I have two 'Ts' that have the rivets for attaching the Kevlar Lining to the Brake Shoe - I'm working on another vehicle (1912 Clement Bayard) that has VERY thick, solid cast brake shoes. Is there a glue or adhesive that I could use to attach a band of Kevlar to the shoe? If possible I don't want to try drilling and riveting the lining if I could help it - Thanks as always for your knowledge! They are used very similar as with the Model T's - a 'Parking' and 'Emergency' Hand-Lever Brake - there is another 'Pedal Brake' for normal driving -
  22. Martin; Well . . this weekend is -try to start Mr. Magoo week! If you get the chance please e-mail me so I can possibly get soem directions in the 'starting proceedure / process' Best Regards / Don DLWrldwide@aol.com
  23. Yeah - I did get that post about the car in Bithlo. It seems it was some guy who had what HE called an 'original' 1911 Model T 'Torpedo' - come to find out it was a Kit Car painted a VERY bright blue. Anyone who KNOWS T's would spot a fake from a mile away. The same guy had a red Depot Hack for sale - Tried to take me for a ride in it . . .got all of about twenty feet before it stalled out . . . . he got it started again . . .and in another twenty feet . . .stalled again! But . . .thanks for the lead, anyway!
  24. O.K. - Soooo . .where would one LOOK on the 'PreWar' site? Gee . . .I got the one for the one-way . . . I hope I don't have to buy another car to get the answer! Don
  25. Wayne: If you check out the pictures of our autos - you'll see . . . the radiator is BEHIND the motor! Although it doesn't make much sense to me . . . There is about 4 - 5 inches of the radiator 'fins/tubes' exposed to the outside. The shape of the Hood ('Bonnet' for you 'Brits!) - apparently was enough to 'speed-up' the airflow as it passed over and around it - thus increasing the blowing effect of the outside air into the (few) exposed tubes. A. Clements 'claim to fame' was after the development of his auto, was as a pioneer in the first 'Blimps', so he had to have knowledge of 'propellers', wind velocity increasing over 'curved' surfaces (i.e. Wings / Propellers . . .AND Hoods too, I guess!) - Ironically, the Headlamps on my 'Mr. Magoo' are Bleriot Lamps and were developed by another Frenchman (Bleriot, of course!) who also became famous for being the first to Fly over the English Channel. The way I hear the 'story' is . . he developed an airplane . . . went to the coast of France . . . asked a 'local' - "Which way to England?" - and after the local pointed 'over that way' - Off he went!! Wow! Talk about GUTS . . . story goes he was forty miles off-course but at least made it . . . I believe that was in July of 1909. He later became very famous in the aircraft industry even building the famous Flying Ace 'Rickenbacher' aircraft in WW1.
