1. Still looking for an early Karmann Ghia convertible if you can help.
2. I need a windshield for a vintage kit car. It is listed that is used a British Ford Consul or Zephyr built from 1951 to 1955. Sounds like a hard item to find. Jeff jeff@karmannghias.org
3. Is the Ghia Convertible still there? I'm just getting in on this thread. tailfin58 the pictures were great, thanks Jeff
4. Thanks, yes I frequent the Samba. I thought there might be some AACA users here that were hanging onto and old Ghia and need to get rid of it. BTW, I lived in Lancaster, PA for about 13 years. If you are in VWs we might have crossed paths. Jeff
5. Looking for a pre 1966 Karmann Ghia convertible. I am really looking for a 58 or 59 Ghia convertible but would also be interested in an early 60s Ghia. Looking for a good driver to a nice restoration. Jeff
6. My Hudson is back up for sale. Please email with any questions.
7. I am restoring a Webasto sunroof for a 1956 Karmann Ghia. These sunroofs are a soft top design that folds back much like the popular Volkswagen Beetle sunroofs from the 50s and 60s (like Herbie had). We have the sunroof about done but we need some shots of the interior and headliner to make sure that we are doing it correctly. These headliners were found in various manufactures. There is one site of a nice Merecedes with a restored Webasto. Here is a link to what mine looks like. Thanks for any help. Webasto Roof
8. My Hudson is back up for sale. Email with any questions. 52 Hudson Hornet sedan for sale. It has an original 308 cu in engine with Twin H carb setup and the 4 speed hydramaic transmission. A 262 head was used at some point to increase the compression ratio. The engine number and body number match. The car runs great and we use it all the time. It gets a lot of compliments. It was repainted at some point to the original color and it is a single color car. The carpet was just replaced and the seats and headliner were replaced in the past. There are lots of small bumps and dings but this is a rust free car other than the corners of the front hood and very front portion of the rocker panels. This was originally a California car. I have some older receipts to go with the car and some maunuals/brochures. It has been converted to 12 volts. For sale at $11,000 obo. Car is located in Bowling Green, KY and can be highway driven (we do it all the time). Email with any questions, Jeff. lipnichanj@insightbb.com
9. Thanks for the reply. Please call Frank directly for the details. I have seen the car several times in person but I don't know the details of the year. Frank is on Central time. Jeff
10. One of the members in our local AACA chapter, Frank Fox, has a red 1965 Dodge Dart GT Convertible for sale. The car was restored in 2001, front end was completely rebuilt, it has a 318 automatic. Feel free to call Frank at (270)657-2157 as he does not have email. He is asking $18,000 for the car. There are two pictures that he gave me to upload. Frank lives in Dunmor, KY. Jeff
11. Thanks for everyone's interest but the Buick and trailer are sold.
12. I also have a 22 ft enclosed Tommy Trailer is someone is interested. The trailer only weighs about 2000 lbs. New the trailer was $11,000 and I am asking $6000. Ask for pictures if you are interested.
13. SOLD I have a 1915 Buick C37 for sale. Great running car. The C37 has the larger 4 cylinder engine which pulls the car nicely. We have had it for almost 3 years and have taken it out for tours and rides often. It certainly gets lots of looks. The Buick looks very nice but is not a show car. The car has almost all of its original components including the interior. I believe that the only non-original item is the radiator which I had replaced this spring. It cost over $2000 as it was done to very high standards. The electrical system is original and works great to allow you some modern lighting to see your way home. The car spent most of its life at an estate in Maryland. I have a couple of manuals and an origianl sales brochure that goes with the car. Even the original key is still there along with the original side curtains in a box. This is a very nice car for touring or the basis of a correct restoration. Please email with any questions. I have pictures up on my web site. The car is with us in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 14. Sure, it has to be a convertible that you rode in. Maybe it still is in the back of your friends garage Attached is a two seater DKW photo.
15. Hi, There are some good pictures on my site of the engine and a link to cut and paste below. That is what makes this model which is the F89P pretty rare. DKWs before 1950 had two cylinder motors and these were designated the F8 Model and I have a breif page devoted to them. There is a good chassis shot of the engine. In late 1953 they came out with the 3=6 motor which most people are familiar with. These were designated the F91 model. A little later DKW increased the overall body size and came out with the Gross "Large" 3=6 with model number F93. Convertible DKWs were made by the firm Karmann which made the Convertible VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia for Volkswagen. That is how I got interested in DKWs. After visiting the Karmann collection in Germany and seeing a 4 seater and 2 seater convertible I have been searching for one ever since. In the process I stumbled across this car. The Hebmuller firm made two seater VW convertibles in the early 50s which are very sought after in the VW world. Here I found out that Hebmuller was making the original two seater DKWS. When the Hebmuller factory burnt down, Karmann picked up the remaining production of the VW 2 seater convertibles but took over production of the DKW 2 seater convertible and manufactured it until 1956. All of the DKWs prior to mid 1953 had two cylinder engines with the shifter coming out of the center of the dash. The vans that DKW made might have continued as two cylinder models until 1955. I don't have any parts books on them to verify this. I've spent the past year researching these early 50s DKWs and it is a pretty unique car. 16. I have a 1953 DKW - Autounion for sale which is the earliest post war Audi in the united states. The car is a fantastic time capsule with only 40,000 km. There is no rust and I have a copy of the original PA title when it was brought into the USA. The motor would classify it as a microcar with 700 cc, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke motor. Sounds like a big weed eater. This was a one owner car that was held by a dealer for 2 years before I picked it up last year. It runs good but needs brake lines. I have picked up a new master cylinder, rebuilt the front brakes and got some new flexible lines. We are moving and I would like to sell the car. It is a little nicer than the standard VW Beetle of the time with its wood dash and wood window surrounds. The car is rust free with a few very minor dings. Using the hand brake I had it up to 50 kph and thought that was fast enough. It has a 4 speed transmission where the shifter comes out of the center of the dash. Please call with any questions.
