  1. I have a nos bug screen for my 1940 commander with the original attachment hardware and some of the original packaging. I think the same company made it as the 1937. I will look tomorrow. I put it on the car once. I thought it distracted from the style of the car.
  2. Here are the part number. For the spring the part # is 100352. The same springs were used in 1923 and 1924 big and special six clutches. The part number for the intermediate disk in 1924 was 106728. The parts book also says the intermediate disk for 1923 part #100346 is no longer available but can be replaced by part # 106728 so the disk for 1923 who'd also work in your car. These intermediate disks were also used on the big six of these years. Hope this helps in your search. The earlier parts book how's that the above springs and driving disks were also used on 1922 big and special sixes
  3. You are missing the correct mark.
  4. Here is an image of the transmission. It is the 8 spline GE transmission. And It does have the throwout bearing.
  5. I have the transmission but I do not have the throw out bearing as I believe that went with the fly wheel and the engine when I sold it to someone in Australia. I will check in the next few days. It is in a back barn.
  6. Hi I have an extra GE transmission. The bell housing is part of the transmission I believe. It is in a barn out back. I will have to dig it out.
  7. The originals appeared to be made of copper and asbestos. They are slightly cup like. The coper ring sits in a recess in the manifold of each port. I think the flat gasket would work fine if there were bolts at the end of the manifold like in later manifolds. This would hold the ends tight. Sorry i did not take a picture of the original type before I put them in.
  8. I used two Olsen manifold gaskets on my GE six that had the individual seals for each port originally. The first one leaked exhaust at each end where there is no stud like on later style manifolds. So I got a second gasket and had the manifold faced to make sure it was flat. The second gasket worked no better than the first. I ended up with exhaust leaks at the end ports. So I finally sourced nos individual gaskets for the manifold . Now there are no leaks. The original type gaskets are no longer made and hard to find but they are what the manifold was designed for.
  9. How about cab marker lights from the top of a big truck??
  10. Continental also made engines for several brands of tractors and farm equipment,
  11. That is true. I have one but it doesn't have a zenith carb on it.
  12. Thank you for the information. Now I just need to find someone with Gravely L.
  13. No one has any idea what this carb fits?
  14. If it is like the later GE models plan on at least 2 gallons.
  15. Saved this from a collapsing barn 30 years ago. Zenith 9995A L805. What does it fit? Has an added aluminum neck for air cleaner.
  16. The lower hose on my 1940 commander is also curve molded. I got a long hose from my FLAPS and cut to length.
  17. Could the pump be installed with the arm on the wrong side of the lobe?
  18. Studebaker bought lights from a lot of different vendors depending on the year and model. An example GE dictators used 3 different tail lights depending on series.
  19. A four bolt hole rim. What cars had 4 bolt hole rims? Studebaker Champion comes to mind but I am sure there are others.
  20. My amish neighbors still use something very similar here. very hard to see when you are driving a car.
  21. Bob Kapetan ( RBK on here) on here has a whole bin of arms for different rear spare tire holders. For my light six the part numbers left and right were cast into the arms. I was able to find a set from him. I have an extra of what I call the pan. Part number 44624 in the above illustration.
  22. The 1930 Erskine was the only Erskine to use a Studebaker made engine. All the previous years used a continental engine. It was rebadge half way through the year as a Studebaker instead of Erskine. It was a faster and more durable than the earlier models. The engine continued in production for a few more years.
  23. Meyers sells two color faces. Black with white numbers and white with black numbers.
