  1. My father bought that car from the original owner in 1966.
  2. It is a matter of personal preference. Some people do not care for the large and bulky top of the club cabriolet. The rumble seat cabriolet is probably preferred. Jon Anderson
  3. To clarify, the blue car is a club cabriolet (introduced in mid-36) with an inside rear seat. The cabriolet (with a rumble seat) was produced for the full model year.
  4. It is a very nice car, but: the painted windshield frame and painted grille are for standard; the speedometer and spare tire cover are for deluxe. It should have aluminum heads. The wheel covers should not be painted. And a few other things too. For that money, it should be completely correct.
  5. All are prints of the original photos with background added. There are many photos of the '35 Ford at Indianapolis as the pace car. The original photo of FDR in the '36 phaeton was taken at Warm Springs, Georgia.
  6. This horn ring is '49 only. '50 has a read center and the cross bars are at the top of the center.
  7. Masking tape on bare wires in a wiring harness.
  8. I was in the Pine Plains dealership when they were still selling Fords and I have photos of it at that time.
  9. It is unique to the station wagon and does not interchange.
  10. Rear doors tack welded in place. Much missing wood. Many missing phaeton only parts.
  11. I drew the plans for our house and garage in 1969, built the house and garage in 1970, moved in and been here since then. I started with two two car garages side by side, then built the rest of the house around the garages. One of the garages is for the modern cars (life is easier when they are inside) and the other garage is the restoration shop. I did not want to go outside to a separate garage to work on an old car. Across the driveway is a 24 x 54 storage garage that initially was full of unrestored old cars, and is now full of restored old cars. The key things were the in house restoration area and a separate storage garage. All this in rural Pennsylvania where you can build what you want.
  12. At least as impactful to me as the Arizona was the semicircle of fifty stone pillars, each representing a lost submarine, many of which made one voyage.
  13. As Ben Bruce recommends, post your photos and ask your questions on the H. A, M. B. site.
  14. I looked at the cars last night because they are close by, and said no thank you. The cars are sold today, as is where is, and are going to New York. Who woulda thunk?
  15. We will never forget. May they be honored forever.
  16. Geez. My garage is full of flathead Fords, and even I know about Muncie four speeds.
  17. In the mid '60's, Jim Lynch of Akron, Ohio had a collection of cars that he called Motordom's Ghosts. He only collected pre-1910 cars and had about 75. The only exception was the only Ford, which was a 1912 Torpedo. Does anyone remember Jim or the collection?
  18. For babbitt work, call Kevin Prus in Columbiana, Ohio. (330-774-7130).
  19. Karl Westcott is reproducing these brackets. He has a web site.
