  1. It's been decades but the outer chrome surround might be hel on by an Allen bolt on the lower surface on it.
  2. Yes very low optioned. What my buddy and I used to call "full cranks".
  3. Ha, Had my 64 in 66 and sold it in 2006. Another 40 year beauty. Bronze mist uwith original dual qeuad engine
  4. There is the vacuum line at the brake switch also. If it is leaking, the cruise will be inop.
  5. Been awhile. But I think the black wire has a pin end and plugs into the amp...
  6. Might go for new one. Quite a bit to hope a gasket would absorb the pits
  7. Sounds like the gear is worn. The worm gear on the motor shaft is wearing the gear. If you get a replacement be sure it is softer metal than the motor shaft worm. They were designed to fail as yours has. Which saves the motor shaft worm. Years ago they made aftermarket gears out of steel and they ruined a lot of worms.
  8. You can drill a hole in the brake pedal arm. It is cast iron and will be a challenge. I did it a long time ago and it was funcitional
  9. Thanks Ray. Dick was also well versed on 1961 Buicks as learned when building my Electra 225 convert. He will be missed.
  10. Hi pictured are 1964 Riviera prelim. Chassis manual, and parts book. 1990 Reatta service manual and owners manual (no pen). 1990 Reatta know how binder. And 1990 selling binder. Finally a 1962 body manual. $10 each. Plus book rate shipping
  11. My 96 was teal and my 99 was diamond white. So I'm 50%
  12. With a non functioning console as well. That could be my previous 66 with dual quads added and front seats configuration done. Mine was a GS with single 4 bbl and a chrome lid air cleaner. With bench seat
  13. Hi don't remember if my 64 Riv was like my 61 Electra. But it had a sending unit on the master cylinder. Two leads came from that. If they are to route to each brake light look there for an open in that run.
  14. If it is like my 64. And it should be. Remove the panel that surrounds the a/c vent controls and the panel on the radio face. Also the under dash panel above the radio. That will expose the 2 nuts under the radio that need to be removed. Also as you slide out the radio you must remove the antenna lead at the rear or rear of a side. Good luck.
  15. And may we gather in large close groups, shake hands and breathe freely......
  16. Back in the day owned a 79 s type that came with the olds 350. I invested in a 3.8 turbo charged motor and out it on a stand. Waited for the olds engine to fade. It never did. Solid and high miles recommend it highly
  17. It's a kick panel. Next to gas pedal on side of console
  18. I think I remember from my 84 that the mechanism contains a perforated nylon tape that can dry out and crack apart leaving the motor to spin with no operation. I took it to a glass shop back in that day and they had a roll of the tape and fabricated a fix. Dale
  19. Hi. Back in the day. 78 Regal sponge filter crumbled and caused jerky operation as each piece would partially clog the vacuum port. As I remember found a porous sponge and sized a piece for the holder. It worked
  20. John. You have 1963s there. 64 were square and mounted with corners vertical as a diamond. Dale
  21. My saddle interior had a very dark brown dash and the guidematic was a flat dark brown
  22. Hi. I once contemplated such a rebuild. Sold the car before having to do so. I would think any quality shop could use the pic you posted here to create the proper padding.
  23. If I remember correctly when all screws are removed, the panel can be moved straight upward, dislodging the 1/2 inch or so that hooks over the top of the rear quarter.
