  1. That's a tough number...to find that piece as well as to put a price on it. Typically those 2x4's bring better money in matched pairs rather than individually. I've seen many more of the front (secondary) units for sale than the rear (primary) ones so perhaps there were a lot more replacement units produced. The one in your photos appears to be a '65 piece and as nice as rebuilt can be. I picked up an NOS one about six months ago for a trio of Franklins at the big meet in Pomona, Ca. I would give your friend that much for it just so I wouldn't ever have to put my new one into service.
  2. Can anyone share with me the secret to safely remove the reverse lockout handle from the shifter lever in a 73-77 Cutlass console? I want to get the console off and dye it. Thanks!
  3. Thanks you guys for your replies. I especially like the link to that decoder site. <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">SUPERFABULOSIO!!</span></span>

Besides, my Buick(s) already got 'em. Thanks anyways for the reply.

  6. I found some older NOS GM lenses that I could use some help identifying. 1) Is rectangular clear plastic, GUIDE # 13SAEDP69 2) is rectangular amber plastic, GUIDE # 11SAEDP68 3) is round clear glass, # 5945736 on it and the box 4) is a pair of round clear glass, #5964535 and GR. 2.697 on the box 5) is a smaller amber plastic lens & white plastic housing combination (side marker looking thing), # G13SAEP169 and a smaller sized # 5960385 on the lens with GUIDE AND # 5960369 on the base. 6) is a round red plastic 'bullet' # GUIDE R1-56 on the outside surface near the point and # 5947151 on the lower 'flat' housing mating surface. Thanks in advance to anyone and/or everyone!
  7. Complete & working 1966 Riviera grille assembly; $250/OBO and you pay the freight from SoCal.
  8. I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on the carcass of that 70 estate wagon my buddy's towing company got in. The 455/TH400 went to his boss along with the nose section and a few other tidbits. There's still plenty of this thing left to salvage. The hood, fenders, doors, tailgate, and one quarter don't look too bad. There's a whole set of power windows including the one at the rear. There's also a tilt column with a pretty decent looking blue steering wheel and a speed warning cluster behind that. Some of the AC system is still intact. There's an extra strato-bench with the power tracks still attached. None of the drip rails windshield and quarter window moldings or the stainless door window pillar wrappings have been hammered, not to mention all of the tinted glass panels (except the windshield). Basically we'll just be charging for our time and labor to safely remove the reusable pieces without causing damage to them or to any of our body parts. There's no posi, no disc brakes, no nice dash pad, no decent door panels, no door mirrors, no grille, front bumper, or core support. We will be dissecting this thing pretty much down to the skeleton since the rolling chassis and probably the floor pans too are set to get used for a bagged Chevy Kingswood hot rod project by a nearby custom shop. Everything else is available now, or as soon as we remove it. Since I'll be pretty busy until the chassis is ready to deliver I won't be able to respond to any inquiries posted here. Simply email me (DO NOT SEND PM's) if you want something so I can get the call back phone number here sent out to you. I can check emails via my cell phone and respond to those much faster than having to log back in via computer. Anything that is not exactly shippable economically or practically can be picked up at our Highland, Ca. Buick butchery yard or perhaps at my concrete filling cabinet in Warehouseville, Ca. where highways 60/215/91 meet. Basically we'll just be charging for our time and labor to safely remove the reusable pieces without causing damage to them or to any of our body parts. Most items will be in the Lincoln, Hamilton, Jackson, and even the Grant price range. There will be some things that shall require a Franklin but not too many. I want to be as reasonable and fair as possible so every single realistic offer shall be considered.
  9. I found a '63 Cadillac Positraction rear axle today at a bargain price. Too bad that I don't own a caddy to put it in. Would anyone here know if the the third member assembly will interchange with any other GM products of that era like Buick Olds or Pontiac? Are rebuild parts even still available for them? I'm really tempted to go back tomorrow and get it just to have one.
  10. Way to go Mr. pro. I guess that I need my eyes checked, again. Thanx!
  11. Anyone here recognize this for what it belongs on? Here's a clue: It comes apart. There's an upper and a lower half (secured by a hidden machine screw from underneath) with GM - 16850 cast into the recessed area of the underside of the lower half. Thanks!
  12. Since you folks are so good at this, here are some photos of a second mystery vintage speedometer that I came across. My apologize for the poor quality of the front view photo. Extra bonus point will be awarded if you can make out from that blurry image what year/make/model car or truck this piece came from. If not then I could try getting a better one that is in proper focus.
  13. Thank you both for your replies. As for wanting to part with it, I will have to check on that. This is not really mine to sell, at least not quite yet. It was brought over here by the person that currently owns it in hopes of identifying it. He is a Model T Ford fan so it is entirely possible that he would be willing to sell off a Chevy part, so I will certainly ask him the next time I speak with him. The day he brought this one over, He had different one with him too that he was curious about. I was hesitant to post the poor quality photos of that one but since you folks are so good at this ID thing I will start a second topic to post them. I'll call it "Vintage Speedo #2".
  14. Greetings! I have returned to the experts once again for enlightenment. This time with an unidentified vintage speedometer. It has a unique spinning wheel type mechanism the likes of which I have never seen before; the numbers are on a disc that rotates around. Anyone know what year/make/model cars, or trucks used this? Thanx!
