  1. Seeking opinions - I am having a brake job on my 59 Buick. What shoe lining do you recommend? Organic or carbon fiber? I've head Carbon Fiber runs cooler/less fade...but that they might be more abrasive and wear the drum down faster. Thanks for your wisdom.
  2. '59 Electra 225 My Front drums are reading .085 over spec and the rears are gouged at .075 over. (12") They squeel and I'm almost to the floor on steep hills (power brakes). Replacement aluminum/finned are rare. Are there any solutions anyone has tried? 1) Relining drums? Only heard this is possible, but no shops apparent; 2) Turning beyond these limits? Heard .200 is still safe? 3) Use aftermarket steel/unfinned replacements? Is there a heat/fade issue? 4) Keep looking for original junk yard drums? Expensive and might not be better. 5) Disk conversion? Seems hard and real expensive. 6) Only 59 & 60 drums will work. Anyone selling? 7) Other? Thanks - all opinions welcomed. -Rick <img src="/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />
