  1. For the few of us who dabble in such things: I have a 1956 Hershey dash plaque and I would like to trade it for a 1955 Hershey plaque to complete my set. Please send me a PM. Thanks.
  2. Have one set of front and rear coupe fenders, plus a pair of very solid running boards with good rubber mats. Fenders have been blasted and coated with etching primer. All will need final metal work and refinishing, but are a great start. Priced at $900 for the set picked up near Westminster, MD. These can be seen and picked up at the Sugarloaf Region Parts Meet on March 27-28 at the Carroll County Ag. Center in Westminster. PM with any questions. Send email for pictures. Thanks.

    6 volt /12 volt

I love my 8 volt battery in my 1946 GMC!
  4. Yes, Thursday through Sunday. The swap meet fills the infield and takes up 2 large parking lots to the rear. The car corral occupies the paved Speedway; and the AACA car show spreads out behind the turn 2 grandstands. It's not quite a expansive as Hershey, but its getting there. Those of us who live where winter means cold appreciate the early warm up that Charlotte provides. The Hornets Nest Region does a great job every year and you won't find a nicer group.
  5. The Lord blessed him with a full life; and a bunch of nice old cars!
  6. I guess the concept of American (and Canadian) energy is lost on our President and his party. We need to get the pipeline built and continue to expand our natural gas infastructure so our great Country is never beholden to any foreign goverment for energy. Job creation that comes along with these efforts is just the icing on the cake. I heat my house with natural gas and there is no rational reason why I cannot drive a CNG car. Let's push these iniatives before we reach another trumped up crisis.
  7. Perfect for the Cadillac collector who has everything else! One recently sold on Ebay for $50, but you can have this one for $25 plus $10 shipping to the lower 48 states only. Payment by paypal, personal check, or whatever. Send a PM to reserve. Thanks.
  8. If you watch auctions closely you see some crazy stuff. It doesn't matter if it's EPay or BJ- things happen and you have to wonder. Last night on the BJ travelling circus, a 1954 Woodill Wildfire, apparently used in 3 motion pictures, appeared on the block. Now this is not your usual BJ fare, so the bidding started slow- real slow. Suddenly the TV cameras showed the high bidder at 14K, none other than Mark Hyman. Great, I thought- the car might show up at Hershey '15. Mark smiled as the auctioneer cried "SOLD"......but wait......suddenly there was a "new" bid of 16k, and you could see Mark's lips say to the ring-man: "He said sold!?!". In seconds it was sold, and not to Mark. Who bought it? It's anybody's guess- or maybe it wasn't sold at all.
  9. The "little" Johnson was in the rear part of the Green field, just before you crest the hill and head down into the Orange Field. The vendor had quite a bit of outboard motor items. The 5 1/2 stopped me in my tracks as my late father had one, but never owned a boat. He would prepare for fishing trips by mounting the Johnson on an old drum filled with water- and run the motor long enough to be sure all was OK. The next day, we would drive to a marina near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and rent a small boat. It made financial "sense" to own the motor but rent the inexpensive motor. We would run the thing up and down the Bay and fish in its many tributaries.
  10. Hershey is such sensory overload. After arriving on Tuesday and setting up our spaces in the Green Field on Wednesday- the week went by in a flash. One of the few disadvantages about being a Hershey vendor is not having the time to enjoy the world outside your spots. This picture shows our spaces early Saturday morning. While many vendors were gone, or packing to leave- we set everything out so that those who can only attend Hershey on Saturday can experience the flea market in some form. The strategy paid off as we enjoyed brisk sales as the herd marched back and forth, to and from, the showfield. In fact, the beautiful but bulky Cord hood seen here resting against my trailer found a new home on Saturday. Loading the trailer on Saturday afternoon was a breeze as much of what we brought to Hershey went home with new owners. The "kid" in the yellow sweatshirt, enjoying his tenth (or is it 11th) Hershey at the age of 16 should be here for decades to come. He would stay for 2 weeks if he could!
  11. A friend needs a good used gas tank for his 1953 cadillac. If a good used unit cannot be located he will bite the bullet and buy a new repo at $350. Please send pm. Thanks.
  12. Commissioned in 1985 for the Club's 50th Anniversary, this heavy medallion is one of the most attractive items ever offered. It is 3 inches in diameter and nearly 1/8th inch thick. The reverse is even adorned with leaf clusters. Shipping for this item is FREE to the USA. The original box, without a lid, is included. $20. First PM to reserve. Paypal or personal check OK. 100% of the proceeds will go to my 2015 AACA dues! Thanks!
  13. Great old decal from the early '60's. The club is gone, but this can adorn your early Bowtie. 3 /12 inch oval shape. $5 includes postage. Send pm to reserve. Paypal or personal check OK. Thanks.
  14. Great old magazine, long out of print. Has great articles, illustrations, and classified ads for cars that were "antique" as of 1963. I have partial set for 1963 including Jan-Feb, March, April, May, June, July, August, and December. All eight issues for $20 delivered. Paypal, personal check ok. First PM gets them. Thanks
  15. The set is sold. I have partial set for 1963 including Jan-Feb, March, April, May, June, July, August, and December. All eight issues for $20 delivered. Again, first PM gets them. Thanks
  16. Nice set of 1963 vintage Antique Parts and Cars Magazines. Great articles and illustrations. $25 includes shipping to USA. First PM to reserve. Paypal or personal check ok. SOLD!
  17. Fast and Loud: They will chop it, bag it, and slam it- oh, and stick in a 502 big block. Woops, wrong group! Nevermind. Long week suffering from Hershey hang-over.
  18. "...cars were required to remain on the showfield until 3pm...." Amen, after setting up our vendor spaces on Tuesday and keeping it going until 5pm every day; I convinced my 79 year old Hershey vending partner to amble over to the showfield at 1pm Saturday. After all the years of vending, he hasn't enjoyed the car show in decades. With his cane in hand, and his knees and ankles aching, we entered the field. Although he could not make it around all the rows, the cars we saw were spectatular. We thank the Region and National Club for making the entire week possible.
  19. Great pictures. Fall Carlisle's 40th was a great weekend. The swap meet had loads of vintage parts and many vendors that are headed to Hershey on Tuesday. Thanks to Chip and Bill Miller for creating a wonderful venue for car guys and girls of all ages and interests.
  20. Steve: My 16 year old would love to sit in your race car; and he would certainly respect it, as long as it goes really fast! Trouble is, he will never believe he is allowed to sit in it- perhaps if I show him this....................,;
  21. We'll be in our favorite spots: GAI 18-19 with our trailer full of 1941-46 "Art-Deco" Chevrolet and GMC truck parts. Find where the Hyman collection intersects with the car corral and you're just about there. Arriving on Tuesday afternoon and setting up for the duration: Wednesday early am until Saturday about 2pm.
