  5. The last post would lead me to think that all sunroofs were ASC if that is the case were the cables and hardware parts ASC also and are they still available. Mine works but it is getting slower every year and one of these day it will probably stop so i would like to rat hole some spare parts.

  8. I realize that this is off the Reatta subject but I have a Fiero with a 2.8 and it has an oil leak, It appears that it is comming from the rear seal. It is not bad enough to rebuild yet but has any body ever used Lucas oil stablizer or a simular product Iam sure that I can slow the leak down for the next 25000 miles or so then I will rebuild Any thoughts would be appreciated thanks

  14. Well now i am 6'3" and I have an 89 Reatta with a sunroof and I have never had a problem. I have the 16 way seats and I think that it makes a difference. I still have a clearance of about an inch. If i wear a hat it does hit the roof, but the problem is minor take off your had, problem solved.
  15. the sunroof on e-bay looks like an aftermarket and i only has 4 hour left. just noticed it the ad says it is from a 1989 reatta, dont look like mine
  16. I am thinking about painting the old car and adding a custom flame job. Has anyone ever seen a Reatta with flames and are there any photos of what it looks like. I saw a Olds Toronado 92 with flames and it really looked sharp. I will try to attach a photo to this post. Any comments pro or con?????????
  17. had thought about buying the car for my son but he was set on a fiero. so the rest is history, this would make someone a nice car lots of possibilities and the price is ok, see my other post
  18. Around here the ins. adjusters like to use what they call market survey value. They simply take the value of the car based on what other cars in the area are selling for, so in the case of a Reatta, there are most likely no other cars for sale in your area so the price of your car should start at priceless. Have your adjuster get going and have him or her find the car for you, they want to settle the claim quickly so hold out. If you were rearended then have them furnish you a rental car till they come up with a car or offer a price that you can live with. The more time you take the better the deal for you. Dont rush. If you are still getting nowhere call the companys home office, ins, companys hate negative press and they will see that a settlement happens quickly. Again be patient they can be overbearing, but you will win.
  19. finally found the penlight and it only took 2 years. now i have all three items in the original portfolio. the pen the tire guage and the flashlight and everything works, found it by accident in a flea market the owner said that it had been there for months and i have been there at least once a week for a year. i guess it pays to keep looking for something when you want it. only cost $5.00. Now if i could find the pewter model, anybody have one to sell, i will just keep looking <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

    Car Covers

Well i am no expert on covers but I have tested about 10 different fabrics and have owned 3 or 4 different covers for my cars and just last week I settled on a car cover that Barney offers and I purchased the weathershield, just put it on for the first time this past weekend and it fits like a glove. By the way my main interest in a cover is to keep the water off the car and didnt care about ding protection. All of the materials that i tested all let water through the cover and on to the car in a matter of hours while the weathershield still kept the water off of the car for 24 hours. The decision was between the noah and the weathershield and by now you know the rest of the story I recommend the Weathershield cover for fit and finish chuck
  21. I had the same problem, the plug in wire under the seat had come loose. I pulled the seat out of the car and plugged it back in and presto no more problem. Took about 15 min. 4 total bolts holding the seats in the car
  22. From the album: Buick Reatta

BOOREATTA AT AUTOMOBILIAUSA IN WICHITA KANSAS. 1000 CARS ON DISPLAY OH YA SHE WON ANOTHER AWARD
  23. here is another car for the data base 1988 Reatta sunroof, no 16 power seats, car has been repainted it is black with tan interior 128000 miles daily driver painted rub strip (black) only fair shape vin 1g4ec11c1jb903562 sorry the car in the attachment is not the car found in wichita it is mine (booreatta) i just dont know what i am doing, just was trying to post a good photo at my name i guess i could screw up a 2 car funeral
  24. Took a trip over to eureka kansas to look at the car, here is my opinion body is in good shape with no physical damage the head lights dont go up and down the interior shows a lot of wear on the drivers seat but the electric part works ok the car has the original floor mats but the plastic grid is broken up and needs to be replaced the carpet appears to be in good shape the door pulls are missing 3 of the 4 of the black clips covering the screws(i for got what they are called) the antilock and brake lights go out after the car is started and they seem to be working correctly however after pumping the brakes 4 times they do come on but they went off shortly after that the glass seems to be in good shape no cracks in the windshield and the vent glass looks ok the car starts and runs ok it does have a little cowl shake at start up but it smooths out after it has be run for a short time in driving the car it does have a slight pull to the right but it has been sitting for a while and could be the tires are low i did take some photos of the car if anyone wants them let me know i will be happy to e-mail them to you on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being high i would give the car an overall 6 all i can compare it to is my cars this is not a car lot like anyone would know it is a grass field with 7 of 8 cars that are for sale on it, the owner is a nice guy but just a good ol kansas boy trying to sell cars, he told me that he just liked the look of the car and bought it at the auction in kansas city kansas i think that he is flexibe in the price of the car e-mail me any questions and that is my honest opinion of the car i have not run the car on carfax because mine has expired so if any one wants to run the vin that dennis listed please do so and post the results. i could not tell if the car was a one owner or not as that information was not available the original window sticker is with the car as well as the owners manual and the Reatta Ball Point pen that came with the car as well as some service records but i dont know how much information that would give anyone the car has a missouri title but the body numbers seem to match the vin on the dash but i didnt see the title to compare the numbers well thats about it, and if anyone needs any further information my e-mail is igor@wichitausa.com just a couple of other notes the car does have a front tag holder on it and all of the center caps have a major amount of road rash and would need to be replaced, other than that the touch screen seems to work great and the rest of the dash works just as well. the dash does have some buckleing but no cracks that i could see, the drivers visor is broken at the end and it just flopps and the mirror on the drives side visor is cracked and would need to be replaced.. the car does not have a sunroof and it does not have the 16 way power seats, just your basic Reatta. I am done now, way too much infomation on used car.... THATS MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT
