  1. ooh yah DONT STRESS IT PRESS IT. You too can have an easy button at www.staplesfoundation.org . Money goes to The Boys and Girls Clubs of America. All Reatta owners need an EASY BUTTON
  2. Well I thought that I would post the photo of the Reatta at the show. It took a top 5 trophy, so Reatta's can win.
  3. Before you have a mechanic shop do the work make sure that you check with a couple of body shops, in my area they do work for less and dont usually use the flat rate and a good shop is very good at doing that kind of work. The motor is pretty common item.
  4. Craig I got an invite, most likely because Darryl has a Reatta, or had one it got pretty chopped up so maybe he feels bad. I am going just for the Bud and dont care if it gets anything. You know me I am in it for the fun. If you are in town stop in and have a cold one on me chuck
  5. Padgett help. do you have any info on the headlights on a Fiero I have an 86 that wont come up. the light works but the motor will only work when a manual spin starts it. It goes down in good shape and will work for the rest of the day. Any advise would be appreciated Thanks
  6. I have used the parts that I got from Barney and found them to be easy to use and have not had any problems. I did the fix in April of 05 and they are still working well. I did have to go back in last month and adjust the up stops as I was getting a little wiggle but the turn of the wrench fixed that. I hope that I wont have to do the headlights any more.
  7. F14 you are right, you are probably one of the youngest guys in the country to own a Reatta. There used to be another teenager on this group, his name was Eddy I think, but he has not been heard of for along time. And yes Jim has lost some weight and some hair I think.....Not sure of the last item. I dont want to have to pay more for parts
  8. Gonna put mine in the Darryl Starbird National Car show in January and if anyone else is close to Wichita Kansas or Tulsa Ok please join in. It is a great show and only one Reatta. Tulsa spelled backwards is Aslut. Life is great in the rearview mirror. Here is a cool web site www.carnut.com lots of great photos
  9. Howard, Merry Christmas to you also and to everyone who reads these threads and to all of the people that I have met over the years and those that I will meet some day at some car show. Merry Christmas means a lot to our troups who are working to protect our great country and really dont care if we are politically correct or not. Hell I work for Wal-Mart and I am proud of it. Enough said my hat is off to everyone here so MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BLESSINGS FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR.
  10. Howard you are correct we all are blessed and hopefully your part of the country will recover quickly and you are so lucky to work for a company that will continue to pay you while they are rebuilding The older I get the more blessed I am, I wish you and everyone else a safe and happy holiday and lets all remember our Americans serving over seas. They are doing a great job in an unpopular war.
  11. If anyone has not read the article written by our own Nancy Eaton on the back page of the November Buick Bugle you should, Nancy has got to be one of the Reatta's biggest fan and she continues to advance the Reatta Division of the BCA. Good article Nancy, keep it up

  13. After reading all of the posts on this subject I am not sure that you have all of the parts The flashlight has a total of 9 parts not counting the batteries. 1 the barrel of the light 2 the bulb 3 the battery sleve 4 nylon washer that goes on the end of the bulb 5 tin metal sleve that holds the batteries 6 the cap which has the pocket clip attached 7 black plastic button that fits inside the cap 8 white nylon clicker goes inside the black button (same mechanism as a ball point pen 9 spring goes inside the white clicker works well when you have all of the parts
  14. Tom I contacted you by e-mail please contact me at igor@wichitausa.com Thanks
  15. Sorry but you can never claim that your car was adult owned, but why would you want to. Your high school years are the most fun and you should never sell your high school car. I sold mine and I have spent 30 years trying to find it and get it back. When my son wanted to sell his high school car I put it up on blocks and we will keep it till he decides to restore it and drive it again. I dont have any regrets in my life except I should have kept my high school car. What ever you do keep yours it is a big part of your life. Now there is a lesson from ol Boo.
  16. I see you cruise with you headlights down, I do that a lot but the cops always write me a ticket and I am not 18 any more. The cops just like to pick on old people LOL
  17. I am looking to purchase a car in California from a place called VIP classics in San Diego. Is there any one this group that knows of or has done business with this company. The car that I am looking at is the 1982 Riviera convertible and it looks good but I cant find anyone who knows anything about the owner. Any help from anyone in California would be appreciated. California is a long way from Kansas. Thanks Chuck
  18. The portfolios seem to be very common and so are the pens, the pen light and the tire guage must be very rare as I have only seen two flashlights and only one tire guage. Those must have been snached up and they are not usually in the folders Good luck finding one, kinda like finding the pewter car>>>>> I would buy one if any one has one for sale......
  19. I researched this out several years ago and the 1988 and the 1989 had a fold over cover and included the owners manual and the Reatta pen. The owners manual was larger than the 1990 owners manual. The zippered portifolio was for the 1990 and 1991 years and it included the owners manual and the craftsmen log, the Reatta pen, the Reatta flashlight, and the Reatta tire guage. It also contained a small road atlas. a scratch pad, key blanks for the doors, and the convertible operations if it was the convertible. The 89 and 89 also had the blank keys for the doors and the ignition. the 90 and 91 only had the blanks for the doors. The zippered portfolio also had a card that the new owner could fill out to order and engraver nameplate. All of the cars came with the General Motors maintenance schedule for the cars. I also have seen a small book that was called " Lets Talk" it was a sevice signal check list for the car owners so the owner could do a better job of explaining what was wrong with the car, but from what I could find out that could go to all Buick cars at the time. The zippered portfolio also had a small booklet called Reatta A HANDCRAFTED BUICK. and a booklet on Buick ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. This is all the information that I have.

    Brakes!

Rawja is 100% correct. Park the car. There is a Teves manual on E-Bay right now and it will contain good information that a good mechanic can use to fix your brakes, the item # is 8002972600. Contact Jim Finn, he should have the parts to make the repairs.

    Power Antenna

The best advise here comes from Harry Yarnell in this thread, contact Barney Eaton at barney@texas.net he does rebuild them. There are many posts her about the junk on e-bay and salvage yard treasures. I guess if you want to know how things work get one from you local you pull it yard and take it apart, but if you want it to work the first time contact Barney.
  22. Beer only when he is done working on my stuff, I invite him to be a judge at several car shows that I do around this area and it always make him feel important, then he gets the beer, havent tried the porn yet. But it is an interesting concept.......
  23. Dave there is one of those mech in Wichita Kansas also, and they are so valuable to know. I was having another car worked on and I noticed a manual on the Teves system and I asked him if he knew anything about the Teves and he told me that all of the dealers in town calls him and he does all of the work for Buick, Ford and Chrysler. He was factory trained and actually worked for a Buick dealership before starting his own shop. I told him that I had a Reatta and he told me about a bunch of them that he works on in this area. hopefully he can get some names and vin numbers. I saw a grey coupe that had some front end damage in town but was not able to get the numbers. These guys are a gold mine
  24. Take it from a guy who still owns both cars 86 fiero gt and 89 Reatta. That said the Fiero is more fun to drive and harder to maintain...The Reatta has much more class, easier to live with and more people friendly. The Fiero would compare to a fast go kart, and parts are more available.
  25. My car had a dealer installed product called rust evader. It was made by the RustEvader Corp in Altoona Pa. It was installed byLen Immke Buick the day the car was delivered at a cost of $395.00 It would appear that is just a control box and 3 anodes. Cant tell you if it works or not and I have seen several times on this group that the company had been charged with making false statemnet. All I know is that I lost points at the national in Plano. I will take if off for the nest national that I go to.
