  1. resume stay on until you hit resume on the turn stalk or slide the switch on the stalk as well one bump on the resume will increase speed by one MPH each bump of the set button will slow the car by 1 MPH

  3. Oklahoma publishes a travel guide that is worth asking for. They break the state up in sections and each section has some good information depending your route. This book is free of charge. Contact Travel Promotion Division P.O. Box 52002 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73152-2002 or email them at information@TravelOK.com Lots of interesting stuff to see .
  4. Has anyone here ever used any of the new ceramic polish available and what results if you have, wondering how well it works old paint. I see Mothers has one and I wanted to try it. I think it is formulated for newer paint Thanks
  5. Harry you are correct. its not just Reatta its everything. Usually its one to two coats of base and up to 5 coats of clear. In the amount of painting that I have done I always spray one coat of base and sand then 2 more coats of base and usually 6 coats of clear and then wet sand hoping no break thru the clear The paint from PPG back then was really pretty good. Most Reattas I have seen with CC failure its mostly the hood and trunk and a few on the top at the windshield. The sides have held up for the most part. Owners that kept cars clean and well protected by a good wax etc seem to have had better luck
  6. Has anyone used Geico insurance? They do a lot of advertising but don't know how well they pay claims if ncecssary

    Recalls

There is also a web site AUTOPEDIA will have recall info on any car. There is also information on TSB's that most people don't even know there is other information out there if they don't ever take a car to the dealers
  18. Ed the point I was trying to make is most of the imports, not all but most do not manufacture parts here in the US they assemble thus the JIT inventory control plays a big part. The cost to produce the part overseas is less labor due to as you said we pay our workers here more than workers in Japan or Korea. The final cost of a car could be reduced for the import labor cost being less. Then there is the tax issue. Import parts are taxed differently than a finished product. I have dealt with global procurement and its a different ballgame..yes there are labor costs on both shores but the savings for Hyundai and Toyota and other import companys are large cost savings that GM does not have for all models Buick makes a lot of cars in China for just that reason..The bean counters in these companys don't want us to have all of the details. Scrub down the P&L of GM or Ford or ? and see just how much funny money you can find. Follow the money which is why cars don't sell like they used to. The bigger the beast the bigger the profit

  20. from what I have read VW Toyota Kia Hyundai are not made here they are assembled here. if that is the case half the labor, equals less costs
  21. contact a local car club a lot of those guys have lifts in their garages and would be more than happy to put your car in the air. Just go to a car show and look for someone with a hot rod
  22. Its really good that you have so much stuff on your car. there are a lot of people that would like to have all of that. I was lucky that all of that came with both my cars. I will keep with the cars as long as they are road worthy I have found several of the portfolios in a few cars in salvage yards several years ago but most of them had parts missing. Good find Kevin enjoy your new car.. there are some good folks here on the AACA web site. Take the time to look at joining the Buick Club of America and the Reatta Division its worth it to find out all of the stuff on your car.
