  1. That is really good advise. I also disconnect all my batteries in my cars when stored. Old wires burn easily. Chances are you wont be in the garage when a fire starts.
  2. Well I can shed some light on the subject of SOP and BY Laws and Rules and Regs. They have been redone and brought up to date and have been approved by the BOD and have been sent to the office to have them put on the Web Site. From what I know the web site is still being worked on but everything should be done with in the next few weeks. It has been a long process. The real reason they were not in the last Roster, is they were not ready and the BOD felt the Roster needed to get out rather than wait till the BY Laws etc were ready. Hopefully the Roster will be printed every 2 years like Lamar said Hope everyone has a Happy New Year Chuck Kerls
  3. I totally agree, Reattas are made to drive. I cant imagine buying a car to have it sit in my garage. I drove my Select 60 half way across the country last summer to Portland, about 4000 miles and I will drive it to Springfield Mo. next summer and to Allentown in 2016. It does well on the road and gets good mileage. I got it to drive and that's what im going to do. Could care less about the value, by the time I can no longer drive all I would have is an old low mileage car in the garage that my kids can fight over. I want to leave them an old worn out car they can take to the salvage yard. Chuck
  4. shaved head.....more sexy......John we gotta talk. Glad you are feeling better......Have a very Merry Christmas.....Hope to see you in Springfield Chuck
  5. I have not done one darn thing, it wont stop raining and too much fog. The red vert just sits on the top of my lift and the SS60 sits below waiting till after the holidays
  6. Well now. I don't care what you drive there is a place to park non Buicks on the hotel property as long as it is not a PRIUS. I guess that is all I want to say about that Bring your car there is about 200 spots for cars just visiting Chuck
  7. Just an update. Peter and Cindy have been working to up date the information on the meet. I asked them to post a copy of the registration form and the volunteer form for people who are not a member of the BCA but want to attend the meet and maybe become members. The volunteer form is there in case someone lost the Bugle. Also posted is a map of the Host hotel showing the show field parking, the location of the various rooms that will host meetings, hospitality room, registration desk, outside swap meet etc. While there is always going to be changes the lay of the land wont change. The map has a lot of information and I hope it helps to have some information before the meet starts. From checking with Hotels in the area there are still rooms available in hotels in the area. There are many hotels with in walking distance from the host hotel. By walking distance I mean across the street or next door within 5 to 10 min. We will post a schedule of events as we get them from various divisions and meeting times and locations. Its time to get registered to go to this meet. Springfield has a ton of stuff to do. Some really good tours and Lamberts is a must. Its the home of throwed rolls, so heads up. More up dates as they area available See ya in Springfield Chuck Kerls
  8. I have an issue with one of mine also I did some checking last summer and didn't have a lot of luck. Not many convertibles being scrapped. I finally got mine straightened out and stopped looking. I would purchase one if it showed up.
  9. Marck you are 100% correct, this is the same car you can tell by the missing parts on the door panel. He would have been smarter to take your offer, some folks never learn Chuck
  10. In Kansas, The land of OZ we call that a good deed doer. The world needs more of them

    New Owner

look at a line of seats by Corbeau they look cool to me and I am sure they could be retrofitted to a Reatta. I saw them at autobahnpower.com Sound like an interesting project
  12. Thanks guys I have one on order..........Kevin a detail book report would be in order for you. Anybody here making plans for Springfield? Just got back from there and I think it is going to be a need place to be. The Reatta division could make some money if some folks volunteer. More later on that. Chuck
  13. That's pretty cool Kevin. I am going to try to find one if I can How cold is it in STL? It was really crapy in Wichita this past week. One of my kids ended up in a ditch last Sunday night. 5 degrees last night......Unusual for our part of the country Chuck
  14. I have talked to a lot of people about the 3800 engine regarding the color of dip stick. It seems about half of the owners have grey and half have black. It seems to me that this issue is carried on in the whole Buick line. It may be just the time the engine was produced. The 3800 was not only a Reatta Motor but was in lots of different cars. My neighbor has a LeSabre with 25000 mile and my daughter has a junker at 240000 mile both are the same year and hers has the grey and my neighbors has the black. I don't think this would be solved but I would think if a Reatta was being judged, I would think either color would be correct. It would make common sense. I also do agree with Barney that the Select 60 has the 90 hood stock ornament and not the Select 60. I talked to an owner of a Select 60 and he told me that his ornament had been replaced with a Select 60 one. The Select 60 ones were for the 88 only. I cant prove any of this but as time passes a lot becomes common sense. My Select 60 has a grey stick, a 90 ornament and 2 vin Numbers.......go figure, anything can happen Chuck PS still on the hunt for a Polo Green Convertible.......no luck yet
  15. Anybody have the number for a pair of hood struts for a 90 Reatta and where I can get them Any help would be appreciated Chuck Kerls

  18. In 1968 I pruchased a new 1968 Cutlass convertible in Wichita Kansas, I sold it a couple of years later and have wished for many years that I could find the car. The serial number is 336678M385517. It was purchased May 29th 1968 for a total of $3720.39. It was red with black interior. Any body that has done research might have a clue what happened to this car. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Chuck Kerls booreatta@gmailcom

  21. Just an up date on the meet in Sprinfield. The Ramada Plaza Hotel is almost sold out so make sure you call to check availability We have secured overflow rooms at the Holiday Inn at 2720 North Glenstone which is just accross the street from the Ramada Inn. You can contact the Holiday Inn direct at (417) 865-8600. The room rate will be the same as the Ramada $95.00. To get that rate you must ask Buick Club rate. Springfield is a very busy place during the summer so reserve your room asap. The Buick rate at the Holiday Inn does not include breakfast. See ya in MO. Chuck Kerls
  22. Back in 1968 I purchased new a 1968 Olds Cutlass Convertible. It was a great car, but life got in the way and I always wanted to try to find the car if it has not been destroyed. I heard there was a web site where some records were kept. After just the past do or so I found the sales contract with the serial number on it. Does anyone have any info on how to research an old number. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Chuck Kerls Wichita Kansas
  23. I asked and I think that it is the same old story that we have heard on this fourm before. I am sure that 88 has a valid complaint and follows up to resolve the issue. There have been a lot of issues with the vendor. Contact 88 for all the info. He is doing it the right way by not airing all the info on this fourm
  24. Very nice car. You will love it. I just drove one about 4000 miles from Wichita Kansas to Portland Or and it was very comfortable drive all the way. You didn't mention how many miles you have on yours. Remember to join the Buick Club and the Reatta Division. Our national meet will be next summer in Springfield Mo. It will be a good time. Chuck Kerls
  25. Last week there was a post about the head rests tilting, while I have known that for several years, while that was being discussed on the showfield the topic of the remotes for the locks and unlocks. Mine had stopped working and I made the statement that I always forget to hit the unlock switch on the door so my wife can get in on the other side. A member from Canada said just turn the key twice and it will unlock both doors.....sure nuff. I checked it out and it works from either side. I guess Im not too old to learn. It seems like there is always something to learn at a national meet Thanks for the good time Chuck
