  1. Like new set of thick <span style="font-weight: bold">black rubber floor mats with both raised 'GS' and tri-shield logo's</span> in white. These were obtained from a Buick restoration supplier approx 1.5 years ago. Very high quality rubber mats, I no longer have my GS, but they would be the perfect interior trimming for yours. Period floor mats like these with logo can go for around $100 or more. The car I have now is not a 'GS' so they are just sitting in the box. $65 Shipping not included. 2. I HAVE COME ACCROSS TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES FOR VINS FOR '65 GRAN SPORTS. ONE REFERENCES 4 44 27 THE OTHER 4 46 27 WAS '46' A SPECIFIC VIN CODE FOR 1965 MODELS OR DID THAT START IN 1966? THANKS
  3. The boss is sending me to Florida, Fort Myers/Naples area for the next couple of weeks. I won't have my car to show off, but thought it would be fun to check out some local cruises none the less. Anyone know of any shows/cruise nights in this area? Thanks
  4. I will be in Florida, specifically in the Fort Myers / Naples area for the next couple of weeks for work. I won't have my Gran Sport to enjoy, but I thought I'd check out some of the local cruises and have some fun anyways. Anyone know of shows or cruise nights in this area 6/14 thru 6/28?. Thanks.
  5. I am thinking about installing a tachometer in my '65 Gran Sport. I suppose I would go with a steering column mount. Any suggestion's as to type, brand, preference to location etc?
  6. I vote glossy. I'm not sure how the BCA markets advertising in the Bugle, but it's possible a more premium paper would attract companies to advertise in the publication to help defray cost. As far as progressing, how many remember the red cover, black & white print "Cars & Parts" magazines of the 70's? When I compare those to the issues published today there's no question of which is more appealing.
  7. 3 Favorites: 1953 Skylark Convert 1955 Century 1965 Skylark GS (Hardtop)
  8. Oh I had a puller, yup the kind where you start cranking and the steering wheel 'should' pop up, or if not then a slight tap with a mallet should move it to fill the gap between the wheel and the nut, it was just plain stubborn.
  9. Any problems getting the wheel off ? I know it is not quite the same, but I have only dealt with this once before and it brings back nightmares of what a pain it was removing the steering wheel on a '53 Chevy P.U. I once had. Thanks
  10. I thought I'd get some feedback from the forum here first. My steering wheel ('65 Gran Sport) is cracked in the middle just above and below the BUICK logo, like someone laid into the horn with a Rocky Marciano like punch at one time. Anyone ever had their's repaired or replaced with a repro?
  11. Good advice indeed. I as well learned the hard way years ago buying without personally inspecting the car. Even though I was sent a multitude of pictures, the one missing was that of the garage floor and the pool of tranny fluid sitting there. Even these cars at Classic Car dealer web sites don't present the cars true condition. I too would only put oil in the crankcase, there are other ways to pinpoint a problem without creating another. Good luck on your restoration.
  12. Recommendations for Buick i.e. '65 Gran Sport NOS parts suppliers would be appreciated. I have used Year One & Kanter plus other suppliers for my '53 Chevy 3100 PU. But here I am paticulary looking for interior / emblems accessories etc. There are tons of suppliers for chevy/ford, but I am unfamiliar with various sources for Buick/GS. Time to plan on what I can possibly get done during the winter months.
  13. That's quite a geographical change. Regarding winter storage, I have heard leaving an even light coat of wax on chrome bumpers, trim etc. blocks out the moisture & oxygen helping prevent corrosion. Any thoughts on that practice?
