  1. Rocktraider, with all the outside fields now at Charlotte it is fast approaching the number of spaces at Hershey! I am sure they have more cars in the car corral using the track and the outside driveway, I just don't think the Carlisle show can find any more space. With 8000 spaces it's all you can do to cover it in one day, let alone look at the cars in the car corral. As of last year they call Wednesday the opening day, I was not up there on Wednesday last year... So I don't know how many venders were selling on Wednesday. I will be at the spaces Wednesday- Saturday, this year. MrEarl, Keep one other thing in mind, since you are coming up from the south, the temps may be nothing like Charlotte. It could be 35 degrees in the morning with a 10 mph wind, Burrrr. Other years you could see 70's by noon. Lets hope the tent is for shade! Ron and Joe, I look forward to meeting you both. Karl
  2. How many of you are making the trip to Carlisle next week? Stop by my spaces and say hello. Row M 73-74. This is near gate 1, one row down from the top. (20-30 ft. white tent on the north side of the street) Karl
  3. Thanks! Note all bottles have Piano & furniture polish on them too. Karl
  4. 24T42, Thanks for looking there. I check e-bay 2 or more time a week for the bottle I need. This amber, and a clear one just like it comes up all the time. Same company just earlier bottles. They must keep digging them up from land fills or something. The one I need is round and I dont think Nobles had any name in the glass, just the paper label. I have one of each of these wrong bottles, but keep hoping someone will find the correct one. Also since the bottle was made in Detroit, they may have sold more bottles in that area, and someone living near there will remember there is one on the shelf in the garage and contact me! (I also dream of a 10 car garage in the back yard) I still dont have it either. Karl
  5. I am still looking for this polish bottle and cardboard tube. Any leads? thanks, Karl
  6. jjk, AACA members with a flea market space or a spot in the Car Corral can sell a car at the AACA National Fall Meet at Hershey. It must be 25 years old or older to be in the Car Corral. It must be 10 years old to be in a Flea space. I'm not sure why the different rule, but it's in the fine print. Or... try and sell your car here in the "buy/sell" section for free. Good luck. Karl
  7. Web page update: Robert felt that color would not be a priority for links, backgrounds etc. until all changes, updates, etc. were done. However, after today?s posts, he has changed the "links" to blue ink for now. He has found many start and stop dates for the use of those jacks that have been identified as O.E., and put in the car manufacture pages. These dates will be added soon. We all need to keep in mind the AACA Museum has not had it's one year anniversary yet. The Museums educational endowment has been given a major donation this year, by AACA member James Schmidt. I am sure that once the Board has picked a candidate for the educational department, they will come up with many programs, hopefully they will be able to use this jack collection as a teaching tool for the future. Karl
  8. To all, When you get on the home page, click on the headings just under the large "Jack search" heading. those links would be : jacks by manufacture, jacks by car manufacture, etc. The home page link is : http://jacksearch.cjb.net/ I hope this helps. Robert will be home from school after 4pm. He would be glad to hear from you and answer any questions. There is still a lot of work to be done, as more info comes in on the collection. Karl
  9. The Pennsylvania High School Requirements for graduation include the completion of a "Senior High Project" which includes a minimum of 100 hours of work to produce a completed goal. My son, Robert chose to catalog and photograph the AACA Museum's collection of antique jacks that was donated to the museum in 1998. (this collection has over 250 jacks) He then created a website to search for jacks by their marque and their manufacturer. The collection is currently housed at AACA National Headquarters, and will hopefully be displayed at the museum in the future. As of last week his project was completed and evaluated by the school, where he recieved satisfactory grade. Not all jacks have been identified by the marque at this time, members and guests are invited to view this site and e-mail my son with any addtional information. The following link will get you to the site: Jack Search Homepage This project has been two and a half years in the making. We hope this will expand into a useful tool for years to come. Karl
  10. Randy, any nail/ beauty supply house, after I remembered the name I did a search on internet. It's all over the net for $4 a bottle. But I got it local for $4 with no shipping. I don't know what the active ingredent is , but it sure likes to bond rubber. Karl
  11. I found it! Bondini, it comes out like thick super glue, but holds rubber pedal car tires together for ...ever? The company sells this stuff in 2 types, bondini and bondini 2, They sell it to finger nail salons to hold on fake nails! Well... the tires on the wheels, so I am closer to finishing this project. I used this stuff years before and all tires are still holding. I would think it would be worth a try on door moldings cuts and repairs, (you know like when you cut it twice and its still too short) etc. Karl
  12. 57 pontiac, I would sit down and write the letter with ALL the space info, phone numbers etc. and why you need the space. SEND IT to the Hershey Region. Let all us DFers know how you make out! I dont think a "hit man" in PA is a good idea... Karl
  13. Remember...All Hershey space renewals must be postmarked next weekend, FEB. 15th, I would write a letter, enclose it with the renewal, asking for the extra space, do not include monies for it, give them every phone number they can call collect in the evenings and hope someone gives up or died since last year. Give them your field choices 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and see if you get a call. It never hurts to ask. If not this year, keep writing...and good luck, Karl
  14. I remember seeing young girls getting round "burn" marks on their necks from getting too close to muffler bearings! Karl
  15. I have spent half the super bowl looking for a small tube of glue. I guess I have to go hunt up a new tube, in the morning. However I can not remember the exact name, but it was something like bomame? bonime? bondineme? Has anyone ever used this glue to put rubber pedal car tires together with? I last used it in 2000. Thats long enough for me to have it eaten by dust bunnys. Does anyone have the name for me? Mounting the 4 tires are about all I need to complete my latest car. (1941 Mercury Stationwagon) Thanks, kk
  16. Rick, I use Howards tire disp. (Harrisburg) and Penn Tire from Dallastown. Not sure of any of the drivers names. Karl
  17. Rick, IT was my understanding these monies are just a paper shuffle when they get to the state. The state paid the Cat fund bills, so the monies go to a ledger against the balance, then fall into the general fund to go to..... The place in Rheems is where my tires end up,in smoke. ( but I can't remember the name) Karl
  18. Wayne, For a short time the State of Penna. got into the manditory min. "medical" auto insurance business, thinking they could do it better and cheaper and give everyone some coverage for "Cat"astrophic health problems caused by autos colliding with each other. Within a short period of time the red ink was so big, the state stopped the coverage. The last time I saw the unpaid total it was over $200,000,000.00. At $35 per speeding ticket it will take a long time to pay this thing off. Doug, As for me contributing... not yet!!! As for recycling tires and the cost, I am just glad I have 2 different recyclers who stop at the shop to take them. One is 25 cents cheaper than the other, but at $2 each... I am glad they are gone. He tells me they fill a tractor-trailer, and then take them to a grinding, burning, power plant here in the state. They pay by the ton, so no water in them is important, because it adds 8 pounds to the gallon. Karl
  19. Rick, Phila. and Pittsburgh pay 07% Sales tax. Here in the midstate we pay .06%. I understand our Gov. wants to take the fee to .07% statewide. As for the old CAT fund, we still are paying that off too, and for many years to come. Be in a District Justice office for any speeding, or other moving fine and you will see $35 added to any fine to work that balance down. Stay away from tickets and you don't help pay for that one! Karl
  20. Check out this poor scooter in the middle of this whale stuff! I wonder what your ins. agent would say if you sent in a claim for whale gut removal. this link will get you to the story. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040130/photos_od/mdf459693 Just bad luck! Karl
  21. To everyone coming to Philadelphia next week, Use the city buses???? The $1.00 tax we add to all new tires sold in PA ,( for the last 10 years),is for the bail out of the Phila. Transit Authority. Thus the name PTA Tax shown on any of your tire purchases. I have always felt it was very unfair for the whole state to pay to keep the buses and trollys running in Philadelphia!! . Just one more way we who live in the "Land of taxes" (Penna) keep the cost of city living affordable for the many years to come...! Karl
  22. Bob, glad to help. More great photos are on the Wills Ste. Claire Web site. Paste this link and you should get there. Karl http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=willssainteclaire
  23. Bob, here is the "wings up" goose on my 1926 T-6 Cabriolet roadster. Hope this helps. If you need an other angle let me know. Karl
  24. Bruce, that's a week later too. Must have something to do with Leap Year?? Oh well, that info fills in the last blank in my calendar. Karl
  25. Bruce, thanks for the update. I remember being there on Friday, July 31st too! I can not remember it ever being this late of a start date before. Some people have just as much trouble saying Macungie as they do the Das Awkscht Fescht!! Tommy, thanks for the web page info. I did not even think to look for one. I will check back on it later this year. The other date I have not found yet is the Lincoln Winter Flea Market held near here, in New Cumberland PA, sometime in the next 3 weeks. Can someone tell me that date? Thanks, Karl
